That one Arena game was just pure heartbreak for Viper. One Cannon shot and everything started falling apart
that statement was just a bit of a hype from T90, in reality it was much more than that... building castles against 5 cannons, rushing helbs vs scirms and leaving own cannons unprotected, going hand cannons vs scirms and light cav... it was just not the Viper we know.

36:42 epic series already! Viper teaching us again that quick gating often wins out over quick walling. Add a little deagro quick gating for the lure, and mix. “The boar discrepancy” (aka The Boarne Supremacy) that Viper multi-tasked himself into here was truly amazing.
Game 1 Migration is the most incredible example of top tier game play. Absolutely monster of a battle

at least hera looked beatable. viper lost on his own mistakes and not because hera was just to good. hope for red bull.
If Hera wasn't as good as he is he wouldn't have capitalized on those mistakes as hard. The shot at 1:59:38 was crazy, but that alone didn't win him the game. If Viper ate a shot like that against almost any other player in the top 16, he has a very good chance to still win the game. Hera on the other hand takes that small advantage and snowballs it into a victory that looks easy. I mean the man only lost one BBC in that whole game even though his BBCs were outranged the entire time after that shot.
That said, I am excited for Redbull and to see if Hera gets toppled from his throne, but someone is going to have to match his consistency to do it.
By that logic, every aoe2 match I lost was due to my own mistakes and not because my opponents played better than me. 😂

That was definitely the big moment in this and I think a lot of people were like GG after that, and IMO completely turned the tide. Viper was making weird mistakes the game after (I think Arabia? Which is Hera's GG map usually).
Best I can equate it to is like a Super Bowl pick 6... or like when Percy Harvin returned the kickoff in the Seattle/Denver game. Denver was all pumped up and down quite a bit but not out of it... and then that kick return just kind of "Uh this is over...." given how good Seattle's D is (similar to how good Hera's D is, Viper knew he had to force things which doesn't work well with Hera). Manning's face just said it all...
I heard Hera on his stream yesterday and he said he didn't feel that needed to happen to win, but man... as a viewer it felt GG to me.

Viper was winning arena. If he had won it, he would have won in 8 IMHO. He would have lost Arabia but he would have made so many mistakes.

The Arena game was the turning point. Viper was in a great position and if he had won it, I'm sure he would have won the series.
Game 9 would have been Land Madness. Hera had Chinese available to play and that's one of his best maps, so advantage still firmly him I'd say.

What you need for Bulgarians is to do enough damage in feudal to not let them get the cav archers going. Get to castle and just keep up the pressure use the timings of the cheaper/faster military upgrades as soon as you get to the next age. That means you need to have military in feudal like scouts so you have the mass and pressure and the upgrade timings are brutal. And have a few mma in the mix that instantly become longswords. And you can add siege or CA/skirm in castle age
The CA transition with Bulgarians is really smooth because of the cheaper/faster upgrades. They get thumb ring AND parthian tactics as well. So they are decent as long as you are constantly doing enough damage to stay ahead of your opponent which is easy on open maps with the mma. And on closed maps a krepost drop into siege/monk and/or konick.
I have decided to watch this video because the top comment says "Insanely competitive finals. That's the kind of game I love seeing. They both played SO well.", if it didn't I was going to click away from the video.

I am now 3 games in... and I love that games... and I love the commentators... I am just so frustrated with a feeling of this being slightly "anti-viper/pro-Hera" commenting... I could easily come with concrete examples... back in the day, the story was "evenyone roots for the underdog"(which I have never understood) but now it seems that it is still adjacent anti-viper commenting... Just wanted to express that
Dont think you need to do a A to Z basically the same shit all the other smite tubers are doing, between your commentary videos/ funky fridays/competitive game commentaries these sets you apart from everyone else just my 2$. End of the day you do you booboo 😂

honestly, I think it's not Hera who became better, it's Viper who somehow not as sharp and lost his confidence... that Arena game... so much risk taking, weird decisions, micro not to the level.
