those roaming ones are pretty tough. As a whole they aren't terrible to deal with but the roaming ones are so tricky. Its so much fun and rewarding when we get through these areas still alive lol
When i was 17 years old my baby brother died in a car accident that i was partly responsible for. We were at a family event over at my uncle and it was getting quite late, but our parents still wanted to stay. I was tired and so was Björn, so we decided to take the car and drive home, would‘ve only been a couple of blocks. We didn‘t make it far. Some drunk idiot came crashing down the road, heading right for us. I tried to swerve but lost control over the vehicle and we went through some garden fence crashing into a big oak tree. Björn was immediately dead on impact and i was knocked unconscious. Next thing i know is waking up in the hospital to the crying faces of my parents. I‘ll never forget the face my mother made when she told me what happened. I fell into a deep depression and eventually tried taking my own life over the guilt, but somehow some way by a miracle i survived. There was a time in my life where inwas completely disconnected from myself and my emotions and the world around me. I was blaming myself so much and was being eaten up by survivors guilt. This sounds super stupid, but the character of Joel Miller is what got me back in some ways. I related so much with him and his guilt, i don‘t think i‘ve ever empathised with a character in media as much as i did with him. And while Joel slowly started showing cracks in his otherwise so impenetrable walls he‘s build up, so did i. This game showed me some quintessential messages and perspectives on life and i don‘t know where i would be if i never played this game. All of this is super pathetic, but it‘s true. Looking back on this game now, almost a decade later after first playing it, i‘ve gained some distance to it all, yet one thing remains unchanged: To me Joel Miller is one of the realest characters in fictional media of all time.
I'm so sorry to hear this you have my condolences and prayers. Life can be so cruel and its so hard to believe that one moment you can be kissing your loved ones and having fun and the next second you are in a hospital bed and dire events happened to get you there like a snap of a finger. Stay strong I know this has been years since the event but it will always be a scar. I had the same thoughts of guilt when I was overseas in the military. I lost a close friend and it was nothing I could do to save him and I blamed myself for years because he got hit in my usual spot on the vehicle we used to patrol around the area. I was in a different spot that day because of a malfunction on the door we would drop to get out of the vehicle. Long story short I'm only 6 ft tall and he was 6'5 he got hit on the top of the head with shrapnel and if I was in that spot it would have went over my head. But I was also injured on the side I was on but walked away somehow. Our vehicle was hit with a road side bomb when we were patrolling a area in Mosul Iraq in 2005. But I blamed myself for years but I made peace over time. But long story short do your best to live a great life and honor them and bring them with you in every moment to show them the world in spirit. Also its totally ok to have a game mean so much to you I have a few games like that. I will always cherish and play because the game or characters made me feel better when I was in a dark place.
I'm so sorry to both of you for the awful things that have happened to you. It's not in the same league but I lost my dad a couple of months ago so it's still raw and Christmas will be tough. You’ll notice when you pick up items you’ll get .25 binding or .5 blade in the crafting menu each item has a grey circle when that fills up or you hear a click sound after collecting an item that counts as one full item such as blade or binding for crafting
I was wondering this very thing so I caught onto it next EP but not fully so thank you for the explanation on how it actually works. It's a minor system but I like it. We definitely need to be hardcore loot goblins 😂
OMG I am a super fan The Last Of Us is my favorite game series of all time. I absolutely love both games Part 1 and Part 2 both are exceptional thought-provoking masterpieces. I actually like Part 2 more then the first game(which is coming to PC in April). A suggestion I have is that after you finish playing the main game, next do the DLC called Left Behind it's an additional story chapter located on the main menu screen. Also another thing is they did make a HBO television series adaptation of The Last Of Us in case you wanted to watch it. Season 1 covers the events of the first game only and the DLC Left Behind. Season 2 which is supposed to premiere in 2025 will start to cover the events of the 2nd game. Anyways thank you for the playthrough😊
I'm so happy to finally have a chance to play these games. Its so great that the second game is about to come to the PC I feel like we are jumping in at the best time to get ready for it. Glad to have you here for the journey through these games! I'm also going to watch the show in order after each game I'm excited for that as well.
This game really does want to give you the impression that there's almost nothing of real use in the outside world, so yeah loot is scarce. But also it encourages you to explore all areas of the maps.
it sure does I'm really happy for that the more we explore the more we learn I feel so I'm so happy they give us a chance to explore even though the game may be linear.
Personally I think getting the Shiv Master skill is totally worth it, especially for a recorded Let's Play. Getting grabbed by a clicker is basically insta-death unless you have that skill and a crafted shiv. So you'll avoid potential re-loads with that one.
That is why I don't do let's play or streams. I reset at the simplest mistakes When I fail at being the Queen of Stealth, and can't return to it right away, I restart.
yeah they def are pretty easy now that I got the hang of it already. A shiv def helps I love the hitting them with a brink and just using the melee weapon as well. I might just have a thing for throwing bricks lmao
You know, the whole zombie genre is kinda funny. Remember how pre Covid everyone was just making fun of those zombie movies: "Oh, come on, people aren't so stupid, they would never die to that!" "People would just work together and find a solution" Yeah. All those of who ever mocked the writing of these kind of movies, games or whatnot owns their writers freaking massive apology. The game is giving me strong Geralt & (young) Ciri. Like, do whatever it takes to protect the child...which made the opening so brutal. What I find most terrifying in games, is when they make me feel like prey. Especially if the corresponding predator is involved. Well, granted I am not sitting there playing the game with headphones (The clickers sound is nasty), but so far the zombies are more like ghoules in the Witcher: primal and instinct driven, without a whole lot of intelligence
i know alot of people don't care for the zombie type genre but they are some of my favorite. I know they aren't zombies in this but the theme is kind of the same. But so far this game did it all so well. The level of immersion and intensity I'm getting each EP i come in to record is awesome. We def are getting a young Ciri and Geralt feel here for sure. I have a feeling in no time Joel will grow to really love Ellie like his own daughter.
The ammo is gonna be scare since youre in hard mode as well as vitamins and scrap pieces to upgrade your weapons. I was so frustrated playing in hard mode lol I swear I never had more than 10 bullets at a time 😂
You definitely will, I had to pass up a couple doors because I didn't have anything to craft the shivs with. I died a little inside each time 😂, I had already played the game in the previous modes so I knew what I was missing 😭😂
next EP I died a little because of a door but I'm happy the game let me back track some when I found the stuff lol. But oddly the ammo hasn't been to bad in future EPs but those dark Shivs lmao
@Bowskii lol well I wish you luck, youre definitely doing better than I was! 😂 hope you enjoy it. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and Part II of course ❤
Sometimes the letters and artifacts are hard to spot. They are generally a little bit shiny. You missed one that you walked straight past on the table near where Joel woke up before you took Ellie out for the first time. I’m sure you will get used to it! This game especially on hard an above is all about stealth. You will constantly running out of ammo. So try to stealth each level as much as you can. Try turning your settings down a bit to sort out the FPS problems and it should, run better. Once you get the settings right, the game is nice and smooth. But the constant building of shaders every time i tried to play on PC also drove me nuts, it’s better to let them build 100% before you start playing.
yeah the loot is really tough to actually see I def keep missing stuff and seeing it in my edits. Unfortunate for sure but as we keep going I should get a bit better at seeing them. Yeah the graphics stuff is interesting i actually go the game built for FPS the best settings possible even had to watch a vid on it just to tweak them right. Its just certain things that look odd like the water mostly and then the hair issue which is weird.
It's rough to hear you're experiencing issues with the port on this game too. It'd launched on PC in a 'pretty rough' state initially, but was patched and up til now hadn't seen a PC streamer feeling they were still being affected by any. Hopefully, they don't end up impacting things for you along the same lines as RDR2 has been. 🤞
its actually not to bad just minor graphic bugs but I haven't had any dashboards out the game or freezing and not much fps drop so the game holds up pretty well if we can just get past the minor graphic bugs. I'm def gonna finish this game for sure there is no stopping now lol I'm hooked. And poor RDR2 will get its time I'm sorry we never finished that one yet.
@@drawfull I got a 3060ti kinda older PC now still pretty solid for most games. The culprit was not letting the shaders load in fully and a reflection setting that I turned off. The game has been running pretty awesome post EP 4. Now when I record I let the game sit on the title screen for a good 5 mins before I load in and it's Chefs kiss
@@Bowskii Ah right, I just assumed you had something stronger. Yes, deffo need to let shaders load. I hope you enjoy the journey! I'm only half way through your third episode I think.
@drawfull no worries my friend i actually just upgraded as we speak for Christmas I got myself an upgrade. Going from a 3060ti to a 4070. And 32gb ram to 64 better I 7 upgrade as well so I'm super excited it's definitely gonna take some time to get it all set up that's the only thing about getting new stuff lol. But what's funny is they are about to be on to 5series cards so this PC upgrade will be good for like a few months 😂
When the pc port came out I had shader issues too, but I don't anymore. Wonder why you're still experiencing that. I have heard that they chose terribly when deciding who would do the port because they're known to do poorly. So upsetting they would mess up something so important (to me and many). Worth noting: I've heard the Horizon ports are a lot better (Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West) and I definitely recommend those.
Yeah the hair issue is kind of still there. Most of what I'm reading on it just says let the shaders build before entering the game. What's weird is that the shader progress bar doesn't show up for me so I don't know when it's done. This is a totally weird fix but I noticed if I load into the game with my PS5 controller instead of loading in with keyboard and mouse the graphics never have the hair issue. So I have been just loading in with the controller and just switch to keyboard and mouse and it seems to work like a charm
the building with clickers made me so mad when i was younger that i never played the game again, so yeah you should not go guns a blazin on hard mode i would know 🤣 also why does every AAA title have horrible pc ports i just dont get it.
'Your watch is broken' gets me every time

I'm saying this because when I first played the game it took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure that out and I kept wondering why they kept seeing me when I stood still
those roaming ones are pretty tough.
Anyway I just wanted to say that Joel is also my favourite game character of all time, you are right there is something about him that is just so real, he has so much personality. My favourite game ever and always will be ❤
I appreciate that! And I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you as well. Death is never easy to deal with but always try to keep your head up and living the best life you can.
Thank you both for sharing your stories. I’m just glad we’re all still here and managing.
Life is tough, sometimes just by chance and sometimes because it was made that way for us, maybe even by other people. But it’s people we all have to put our chips on, we’re all we have.
So thank you again guys, your words meant a lot
On a lighter note:
@bowskii hurry up with the uploads, i am experiencing withdrawals! :D
@redr0sid210 hahah you and me both my friend. I'm so addicted to this game ATM I need to make the EPs longer I think because I'm missing the game when I'm not playing
''If FEDRA got a hold of her would they do good or not''? PLEASE hold on to that thought.
Yeah kinda makes me on the edge thinking about it all.
@@Bowskii not gonna say anything man. I want you to experience the game as much as I did when I first started the playthrough of it a month ago. Only advice I will give... enjoy it to the MAX cause once you finish... you can NEVER experience this game for the first time ever again😢😢
that's so true and why I take my time in all these games we play on the channel it could take me 100 plus EPs to finish these game but the memories I carry after its done are life long.
@Bowskii amen to that. Enjoy the wild ride that comes ahead man. Cheers
sooo.... i was really young when i learned about tlou and i remember covering my eyes at some sequences i was so scared 😭😭 i was not even playing myself just watching on yt 😭 now its still scary but at least i know whats about to happen after the scary bits so its also exciting lmao
ps. when i was obsessing over this game i also for the first time watched 'the making of' of this game and (even though you don't know it yet) im sure you will also love it, i really recommend it (after the letsplay obv)
pps. not me ending my birthday with the last of us's clickers damn
lmao I know if I played this game as a kid I would be traumatized. Clickers are terrifying I was having alot of fun fighting them though but goodness they are rough to deal with.
I def would love to check out a making of this game i bet its really awesome to see how they pieces it all together with motion capture and such.
I love your videos and playthroughs! But now the rest of the game will only be available for members?
Members only get videos a day or two early depending on how far I recorded ahead. Everything on the channel goes public. Nothing is locked.
@ oh good to know! Would love to support you and other streamers as a member, but unfortunately I have tight budget. Will keep liking and sharing though. Love your videos
@@DudeDoodDude no worries my friend no obligations I appreciate you being here and spending your time on the channel. I def understand the tight budget for sure.
So you'll avoid potential re-loads with that one.
haha I been pretty lucky so far oddly but I'm def feeling that upgrade as well as the weapon sway and health
That is why I don't do let's play or streams.
I reset at the simplest mistakes
When I fail at being the Queen of Stealth, and can't return to it right away, I restart.
Honestly, the clickers are the easiest, they are blind. You can sneak up to them even if they are staring right at you,you just need a shiv
yeah they def are pretty easy now that I got the hang of it already. A shiv def helps I love the hitting them with a brink and just using the melee weapon as well. I might just have a thing for throwing bricks lmao
You know, the whole zombie genre is kinda funny. Remember how pre Covid everyone was just making fun of those zombie movies:
"Oh, come on, people aren't so stupid, they would never die to that!"
"People would just work together and find a solution"
Yeah.
I was so frustrated playing in hard mode lol I swear I never had more than 10 bullets at a time 😂
lol its rough for sure my biggest thing after playing are the Shivs I believe we are gonna run out big time and not have them for the doors.
I'm so excited to keep going thank you for the luck 🤞
It runs fine maxed if you have a 3-y-o or newer PC. Feck, it's not bad on a 3080/6900.
The HZD port was atrocious when it came out and was unplayable for several months. It took them a long time until they reached a decent level
the building with clickers made me so mad when i was younger that i never played the game again, so yeah you should not go guns a blazin on hard mode i would know 🤣
also why does every AAA title have horrible pc ports i just dont get it.
lol would be so fun to go in guns blazing I wont lie and you are right I have no idea why its always something wrong with PC ports now a days.
