Blending some paneer into the gravy is such a good idea. I love to grow spring onions from the roots of storebought ones - I always let at least one plant flower as bees and other pollinators love onion flowers. They will happily self-seed if left to go to seed.
What a delightful surprise to have you show up on a Sunday! Thank you for being here. Yes, I too plant the green onion roots. I’ve had a pot of them in my backyard, for about three years. I was surprised to see you add raw (untoasted) spices to a gravy! But I know this dish will be flavorful and delicious nonetheless. Muttar Paneer is one of my favorite dishes. I’m looking forward to trying this version. Thank you Bumbi!
The whole spices got fried with the onions. Nothing wrong in doing that. Gives same results because you blended all those spices and then it got cooked in the gravy
Hi Bumbi, I’ll do this with tofu! I’ve made another tofu curry with your masala gravy. Inspired by your recipes my life is so enriched by following your excellent cooking instructions. I’ve also finally learned to enjoy potatoes! Thank you! 😃
I’ve never actually tried Paneer so I’m looking forward to making this recipe. The added potato dish, rice and salad look a match in harmony for a special supper. Thanks Bumbi for sharing your wonderful food 😊
What a great idea to soak the paneer to soften it up! I’ve struggled with how hard it is compared to restaurants 😊 Do you have an affiliate link to that lovely cast iron pan? I haven’t seen one like that and you know I love cookware 😅 Such a wonderful set of dishes to try ❤
Hi Mary, I’ve included the link to the cast iron wok in the description box. I love it but as for any cast iron, it needs a little after care. Since it is a mini wok, it is not overly heavy.
Thank you for sharing this! A new indian shop just opened very close to my place, now I don't have to cross the city to get paneer. I just got a pack and was wondering how to prepare it when I got the notification of your video. Can't wait to try it!
Both dishes look absolutely amazing Bumbi 😍 I could do with them right now. It's been such a long time since we had paneer. I'm really looking forward to trying these recipes. Thank you. Hope you've been enjoying your weekend my dear friend 💕
I definitely like the idea of blended tofu in the sauce, and the lovely sabji. However, dear Bumbi, I'm a firm fan of fried paneer in sauces. So that would be my only change. Keep those yummy recipes coming.
I just finished breakfast and watched this video and as usual, it made me hungry although I was definitely full! All your recipes do that. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. Where in our world do you live? (Not the address, but the general area.)
Please hand over the bulb part of those green onions..I might put them into a broth!! Anyway, this is another of your videos that makes me want to order a ton of great spicesc
@CurriesWithBumbi Thank you. I bought some paneer a week ago to try and wondered what to do with it. I made your bhuna dish last weekend, my husband calls himself spoilt! It was delicious! Thank you for sharing and taking the mystery out of Indian cuisine! ❤️
Delicious! I have a question regarding turmeric. In Philadelphia it’s much easier to find fresh turmeric at the supermarket than in the past and I like to cook with it. It seems in Indian cooking ground turmeric is usually used. Is fresh turmeric also commonly used?
No fresh turmeric is not commonly used but you can definitely use them if they are so readily available. Fresh turmeric is very strong so add just a little.
Namaste 🙏🏽 Bo and mummy. Happy Sunday from us in 🇬🇧 A nice creamy curry treat which Colin will pass recipe to vegetarian son and daughter 👍👍👍 🥰 🐾 🐾🐾Colin 🇮🇳🇬🇧
Thank you for saying we can substitute tofu for the paneer, because I was just about to look up possible vegan substitutes. This looks too delicious not to make.

@colinmills3175 awwww!! Thanks for your kind words.
When you say "very hot water" is that boiled water or hot water out of the tap?
Boiled water
Everything except the peas looks great. I just can't stand peas. I'm going to try this without them though.
Sure
