Thanks for the video.. I love chainsaw carving. I go to all local carving events and festivals and auctions. Love everything about it. Have you heard of Todd gladfelter? I will definitely check out more of your videos
hello, i agree with Erick Mick 66 there are not many step by step carvings to make a bear all of them are just fast forward and it gets frustrating for us newbies i mostly wood carve with a dremel , but wood like to learn about chainsaw carving and you are the first person with step by step instructions, please make another one start to finish thanks enjoy your video
Thank you, it's been tough lately, but I'm hoping to get back at some videos soon . The masonry business & moving the shop has been consuming me, not in the right mind set to video any of it, it's just been all go...lol...
Well done man. I got most of my tools purchased to get into this. Just need few more things and gotta come up with some money, want to get a good battery operated or electric power saw. You are good teacher.
Thank you! I'm just getting into video making, after years to keeping with it, it's a whole new discipline for me...lol! Been running saws and equipment for decades, that's the easy part, for me, until I throw a camera, and talking to the camera into the mix.haha!
great instruction video. Like the way you explain what your doing . Keep teaching as if you are dealing with complete beginners . Then I will improve. Best videos for instructions . Keep on producing. And thanks
@@badasswood that's ok neither am I, but your video you made, I think you explained very well. Please let me know when you make that video. So can carve on weekend. 😊👍👍👍👍👍
I really enjoyed this video. Your camera angles are good and your explanations are very clear and informative... But I have one request. It would be a huge help if you could edit the sound. Increase the volume during your explanations and lower the volume during periods of cutting. If I have it loud enough to hear you speak, the sound of the saw is deafening. Just a suggestion. Keep the great videos coming.
I am glad I ran across your channel. I have been a hand tool Carver off and on for 20 yrs. I have just begun to play around with chainsaw carvings. I have a small echo with a 1/4 tip. I have several bigger roughing saws. One 40volt electric and a man traded me a 60 volt snapper chainsaw for a carving. I would love to try and put a carving bar on my two battery saws. Especially the 40 volt one. I love your videos... very informative.. if you do not mind me asking how much do you charge for your welcome sign bear, do you ship and where are you located.. thank for your time..
Hey I appreciate the videos and the tutorials, I'm wondering do i need specific wood? I have a ton of large logs and i live on woods so i can cut what i want, do i need to cure the wood first or can i just begin? Again I appreciate the videos i just started watching and subscribed.
Hey, you don't need specific wood, some are better than others, and I'll be making a video dedicated to wood types and curing. I'll go over my system, and ways of storing, and process curing. Main thing is to get the bark off, get them off the ground, and covered with metal roofing, or ply wood. Tarps hold in moisture and encourage mold. Slow cure is always better than fast, but you can do iether, as long as you have ways of fixing the cracks if you speed dry.
The video is cool but wood be better if u had a head camera and explaining everything you are doing better . Like how deep to cut at first and how to and what to cut away.
I have other videos with better perspective its hard tjinking of exactly what to say though when im tryin to video and cut at the same time... i iften explain how to guage depth of cut visually or by feel... but 90% or that can only be learned with practice and actual time with a saw in your hands... i could over analyze every cut and detail till im blue in the face but i find most learning gets done by me sayin less and you guys followin the basics... just like teachin people masonry i keep it very simple then throw in speed tests... i dont like to tell any one more than two or three things in a ten minute period... t.m.i. and we lose track...
May I ask which videos. I'm getting better at the bear. But I don't why I always mess up when making the triangle on the wood lol. Always have to much on one side. Only attempt four times but getting far every time on it. Love your tho u are awesome at it.
Theres a bear pov video... the one tjing is not to focus too hard on one tjing... my triangles are never even 😆 i just go with whats in front of me... took me a lot more than four tries before i was confident with my bears i can assure you that😁😁 ... thing is to watch as much videos and do as much carving as you can when learnin new stuff... it helps to go to an event where theres other carvers if you can find one...
Stihl e_14, 180e,Makita uc4025a, Makita uc 4000, sthil e-15 are the electrics I use, I special fit the bars and chains, they don't come stock like that.
Hi there, just watching over this video and wanted to say thanks for the how to style which has been very helpful. Do you put a saw cut in the back of the bears to stop cracking or do you leave it to see what mother nature decides, Thanks again for this and all your videos 😁
Great tutorial! I love that you took time explaining the steps, and showing different angles of the cuts. This helps so much.👍😊
😊😊 im still amazed that an older, poorly made video is getting so much attention😁 thank you for watching!

Hello, what models of chainsaw u tryed on this video?
Stihl e_14, 180e,Makita uc4025a, Makita uc 4000, sthil e-15 are the electrics I use, I special fit the bars and chains, they don't come stock like that.
Thanx u so much and sorry for my dumb questions grettings from mx
what bar do you have on that Stihl e180C ?
10" .043 1/4 pitch, sprocket tip.not stock to that saw, but stock to the battery saws. I run a 1/4 pitch sprocket from an e 10,shaved...
do you have a source for that bar.. I have a e180c that has no bar with it right now....your videos are great info...where are you located?
I'm in the n.e. u.s. ... I just go to the local stihl shop, or to ebay fir saw parts... some shops even have carving bars...I do a lot of searching...
You will need a 1/4 pitch sprocket conversion on that saw, I have several videos where I go over set ups, and set up details...
Would've been good if the sound wasn't fried
😄 yeah its 5 years old, its only left up because the newer version with the sound fixed doesnt get half the views🤣🤪
What saw is that sthil
180
