- In this video I attempt to ask and answer the question, is the 205 GTI the GREATEST hot hatch of all time? A big question to attempt to answer for a RUclips newbie, but I tried.
In conclusion, yes. It (along with the MK1 Golf GTI) effectively set the blueprint for every hot hatch to follow. Although time has moved on considerably, the 205 offers a raw, visceral, and really quite charming driving experience that newer cars simply cannot rival.

A 1990 version of one of these remains one of the most fun cars I've ever owned. Always lovely to see one again.

I used to have a 205 mi16 station car, did Crowborough to TW daily. Seeing this down the same country lanes took me back!

I currently have a phase 2....back in the day I had a phase 1.5. I've just noticed the car in the video has the same sunroof as my 1.5.
as far as i know the only parts that the T16 and GTI shared were the door handles and headlights...
