Oh wow, I didn’t realize you could do this without having to completely remove the bolt, which was the part I was most nervous about because of the risk of dropping the bolt. Definitely gonna take a shot at this now.

Worked perfectly. Great idea about holding the screw in place so it doesn't go down the interior of the door. Total time to replace for me was about 6-8 minutes.

Thanks for the video, Auto Repair Guys! I didn't have an 8mm socket on hand, but a 5/16 inch worked nicely. Once I realized the bolt stayed in place, I was a lot less nervous about changing this part out.

in the forward hole on the outside of the door is a plastic piece the handle clips into. mine is broken. Any idea the part number or where to get it?

There is not a bolt in side of my door it is a round looking bolt with #7 on it. Completely round????
