In terms of the sensei's fighting, I honestly see Chozen beating either Johnny or Daniel 3 times out of 5. The man is a beast and he never stopped consistently practicing karate, unlike the other two, and this is coming from a big Johhny Lawrence fan.
Johnny literally didn’t train in karate for 30 years and is even to Daniel who got future training from Mr. Miyagi. There’s a reason Kreese keeps saying Johnny was his best student. Plot had Johnny lose in KK1 but he has the same skills he did back then now but is older. Johnny countered the pressure point moves so that’s not going to be a key role playing move here. Barnes didn’t train in 30 or so years either and was holding his own against Chozen until it was stopped by Daniel.
@@mrkmoney1234 Young Johnny almost beat a Daniel with a bad leg, and he didn't really "counter" the pressure points technique so much as he didn't stand in a confused daze after getting hit with it.
In terms of the senseis fiigting, I see julie pierce winning 5 fights out of 5 because the 'woke' community would never handle a female losing to any single male including kreese, silver, larusso, lawrence, chozen or barnes no matter how much hilary swank looks like a dude....
The silver bullet was a reference to terrys move in karate kid 3 (quick silver). He even says the same thing to kenny as he did to Daniel. “You like that huh”
Here is a neat thing I just noticed. Last season, Cobra kai practiced countering Miyagi-do's defense. Sam was hit with a double kick that anticipates the first block. This season, Terry Silver had the Cobras practice the move a lot. We actually see Tory and Devon practicing it while talking about the potential for the Sekai Taikai to be able to pay for college. Here: 11:38 we see Devon-Lee use the move, but now, Miyagi-do has increased their defense thanks to Chozen. so the move is now ineffective.
@@themoviecritic1092 I never understood the hate for Sam’s character but the love for Tory’s character when both of them have been through trauma. if you can understand Tory’s trauma, then you can understand Sam’s, especially considering that Tory caused Sam’s trauma. @@the_nikster1 Idk I understand her trauma but it just seems Tory has a LOOOT on her plate than Sam imo. "There's a carrot top kid I have never seen before." You saw him and his redhead brother since season 2. Johnny called them the Ginger Twins. Eric even mentioned in the previous season how RED his hair was.
I think that Chosen is kind of reference to mr Miyagi in this season :) He talks in similar way and obviously he represents the same philosophy of life. I love his character very much.
I was just happy to see Carsten Norgaard (playing Gunther) finally get to play a light slightly comedic character. He's always playing these dark humorless character.
When I heard Gunther speak, I instantly knew he was Danish and looking him up on IMDB proved it to be right :) Its funny how its easy to tell a Dan-glish accent with some actors :D
9:18 Am I the only one who noticed this Easter egg? This was a callback to the jaden smith karate kid movie. One of the kids had a mohawk and spiked his hair up like Eli during the tournament.
That carrot top kid (known as little red) that you don't recognize and the bigger older carrot top kid (known as big red) at Cobra Kai are brothers (as characters, not in real life), and they've both been on the show since at least season 2.
I dont think Johnny and Daniel will permanently form one dojo. I think it will end with them separating, but on good terms. They'll teach their own philosophies, and use the others sometimes. They'll still work together, train the others dojo every now and then. Theyll still be rivals and compete, but do so as friends. I think that would be a fitting ending. Daniel leads Miyagi-Do, and Johnny shows that cobra kai can be a great dojo with an actual good sensei
This episode was so good and aaron has paid the ultimate price for not watching the rocky movies. This whole episode was referring to them and i loved every second of it.
Crazy that Cobra Kai is going to do a World Martial Arts Tournament. That gives me so much DragonBall & DBZ vibes. I also love that Wolf "The Dentist" Stansson is one of Sekai Taikai officials.
Absolutely love the Rocky 4 shout outs. Just awesome. Thought this season was going a little slowly but this ep really picked it up well. Great ep. Dammit Sam make up your friggin mind!! Aaron watch those damn movies will ya!! There’s absolutely no way Daniel or Johnny are beating Chosen. The dude is a legit badass and would mop the floor with Daniel or Johnny
9:50 - That's not cool insult Hawk like that! It's what a bully does. I can tell Kyler laughed at this and it's way worse as calling him lip. What Terry and Kenny did at the boys match was a ultimate disrespect. They nearly murdered our champ to traumatize the Miyagi-Fang’s of that non disqualification move
Started watching Karate Kid and Cobra Kai for the first time in my life last week. Yesterday I finished the amazing Season 5 of Cobra Kai. What a great show, a great franchise. Obviously I watched all reactions as well, so it's nice to catch up with you guys. Now I feel empty without any episodes to watch. I hope that Season 6 will be confirmed soon and we won't have to wait long for it.
I wonder if season 6 will be the final and last one? I want it to end nicely with tied bows and all that, not drawn out too long. This was such a good continuation
It'll take time for Daniel & Johnny to come up with one dojo name, but I'm definitely okay if they pick Miyagi-Fang!! We got to see Hawk's green mohawk! "It's time to uncage the Hawk" part was awesome! Tory did the right thing to flee from her match because she knows that Terry's going way too far again & he’ll use her for victory again! I'm glad Sam was able to win made everyone proud!!
I'd prefer something like "Bonsai-do". Something new for everyone, but still has connections to Miyagi-do AND has a great meaning: the roots are strong so the tree (or, in this case, trees) will survive.
My 1 and only complaint about this season is how much they buffed Kenny and nerfed Hawk. It really shows in their tournament fight, idc if Kenny knows the "silver bullet", Hawk is fast, and also really strong. he's got the strength advantage, height advantage, just generally bigger advantage. He also is one of the few who have trained the longest, behind like Sam and Miguel. Total bullshit that he lost this fight
I was worried for Hawk and that he might die, and my buds here are excited and laughing 😆 for both sides. With the second duel , I loved both. Lee has been one of my favorite characters since season four 17:26: Tbh that girl was really pretty 😆
Maybe if Hawk shaved the sides of his head he would have been better streamlined to defend against Kenny. Or that might make him top heavy. Either way he left his coat on.
Yk, Karate isn't the only thing that helps with things over than physical fights. There's tons of other Martial Arts styles in the world and they all have one thing in common. They all help ones life.
Watched a video where some martial artist went through a list of martial arts where they put Boxing, MMA, Wrestling, and I think Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu over Karate which is still up in the list
I knoiw the directors have said they had no plans to incorporate Jaden smiths' karate kid, BUT I would love for him to be one of the other dojo's in the world tourney!!!
I think the main issue would be getting either Jaden or Jackie on the show. If either of them agree to be on the show, this would be the perfect introduction.
You really have someone sitting on the table who hasn't seen the Van Damme Movies nor Rocky ?! 😆 By the way Aaron, the technique of the Silver Bullet is not a monkey paw but officially a Leopard Paw / Fist, in Karate called Hiraken
The more the ref keeps looking at Terry the bigger trouble he’ll face for helping Cobra Kai and being unfair to Miyagi-Fang and the sponsors are going notice it. I love Devon but she truly belongs at Eagle Fang and I can tell that she’s not going to be a good leader.
So many people whine and cry about Kenny beating Hawk, which is just hilarious. First of all, it's clearly spelled out why. Hawk doesn't take Kenny seriously, the bad calls by the ref through Hawk off, and Kenny did a purposely potentially lethal move. People also cry that Kenny is too good already. And yet have no problem with Miguel becoming a master fighter in one season or being able to fight just as good after he broke his back not that long ago.
