  • A Watercolor Abstract Adventure! Creating Flight Paths. In this relaxing watercolor abstract video I share behind the scenes footage of my process for painting watercolor abstracts. It is a spontaneous watercolor adventure that showcases the incredible illusions watercolor can make. As the painting unfolds how many ravens can you see?
Flight Paths is a painting that was inspired by the ravens we share our property with. While painting I explored different pigments and techniques to mimic the look of a mixed media finish while only using watercolors on paper.

See. This is why i love watercolors. Its weird, when i want to paint something realistic (well, surrealistic in my case ) i use oils. But watercolors are made for this! I started doing realistic paintings with watercolor and slowly over time just loved watching the pigments spread, granulate, combine, fade to nothing, basically create magic, that I strayed away from realism when using them. Now there might be one or two realistic elements (realistic enough that you can tellxehat they are) but the rest is just letting those pigments enchant me. Sometimes ill just stare at them from so many different angles, looking at every little particle, all the cool textures and markings i get so spontaneously.

Yes! It is fun to pull out some shapes or leave some slight impressions - this one could be nice to look at and see how many Ravens one could find 🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛
