+Tony Akawari I thought these guys were Japanese at first, because you know if anyone can do jazz like this. It's Japan no arguing there lol. But these kids give me hope because i love jazz and i'm an American.

+Chris Bozelli leading statement. i'm sure Dao realizes this.(clues to this could be in the last portion of his sentence "and i'm an American") Jazz popularized in Japan around the time of the US's military occupation. why did 'swing' catch on? because of 'feel', or 'having heart'.(modern examples such as toe the band) this is also relative to african society and black/african american people/culture, as well as being pervasive in Japanese culture for relative reasons. Similarly, what is displayed here via CHON. if you've ever made music, or rather necessarily anything, but, i would say very 'visceral' in music. not sure of the words, but music made via feel always conveys this thing similarly and has a 'masterwork' quality to it. and of coarse, should be 'expected' as a true expression of the soul/spirit/self. Yes i realize this is 'way out in left field'. however, you have to either understand something like what i said, or its not for you, thats just how it is, no hard feelings or whatever.
The best bit. Bloc party does this on a more minimalist scale. But yeah, two guys, one brain. Have been kinda disappointed that no one ever asks them about this, or that they seem to downplay and obscure where that shit comes from whenever anyone hints at it
@@PolyQuasi Too many people focus on the notation speed or transitions and not enough on structure like that. I agree, it's one of the biggest reasons I keep CHON in my top lists for bands.
This drumming is awesome; those ghost notes remind me of Matt Garstka (Animals as Leaders). That's a really sick guitar part at 1:27. Cool band and great song, too! These guys have "it."
I forgot I had shazammed these guys sometime ago. Finally decided to give them an actual listen. It like this amped up mix of progressive, jazz fusion, and rock. So good.
Mister Crowley How fucking dare you typing those five letters from your filthy keyboard and post them on a CHON video; you should be ashamed of yourself.
Nah man it's cool I'm just projecting my own self-loathing and hatred for myself onto other people on the internet whom I'll never meet; but I really do hate djent.
Kilgore Trout Never got it how people can hate djent. We are talking about that Animals as Leaders, TesseracT, Periphery, Monuments, Vildhjarta, Textures-music, aren't we? How can one hate that?
you guys are everything I love about music.so groovy, so funky, you make me feel like I'm playing Sonic on sega or like I'm gonna run a million miles to the stars. I don't know....keep making good music, you guys know what you're doin :)
Finally, a video with the players. They always promote such peaceful lifestyles no matter what, I can't get over how zen their attitudes are. Endless props for the musicians.
daym man, you just sounded like one hell of an elitist twat xD Can't you just be glad some people will see that comment and discover that magnificient band that is Toe ? Didn't know about The Fall of Troy tho', just checked and it sounds great
Opik-oort Nubem ... You should read the following sentence quietly to yourself and meditate on it, "If I don't have anything nice to say, I won't say anything at all". Sometimes it's better, for us and yourself, to refrain from opening one's mouth so as to stop the outward flow of negative energy. Sounds mad 'hippy-like' and shit but it really helps to better your life (mind, body and spirit) and to not pollute other people's personal environment. Before you get mad or defensive, sit and read what I just said at least 3 times. If you still have the urge to attack me verbally, then be my guest. Have a nice day.
this is where everything started to me as a chon fan, in 2017 youtube recommended me this after clicking on physical education by aal and I instantly fell in love with splash. Thank you Chon!
CHON....we need a comeback.
hopefully CHON will come back one day, what theyve already left will live forever
Check out my brothers band inside voices it’s inspired 😊
Listening to musics from CHON is like eating an ice cream in hot summer day.
These lyrics speak to me on a personal level
Dude your username picture logo the g is fucking amazing, smoke beer and hail stan
@@smittyeagerman6546 ...the fuck?
@@smittyeagerman6546 Damn right, Stan's the man! You're referring to Stan Marsh?
@@timo4938 no he’s referring to satan actually, in short in the periphery album there was a typo and they decided to keep it. Hail Stan
😊😊

Come back! CHON!
Positive thoughts. Positive vibes. Positive love.
If 1:27 isnt one of the coolest call and response sections Ive ever heard...
I swear they have a telepathic link or some shit
Way too dope

How did Sumerian records go so far down hill in 9 years
Whenever I feel down, I always have Chon to cheer me up. :]
My girlfriend cheers me up with some CHON CHON
Simply beautiful
0:37 looks so much like the inside of the moon in The Legend of Zelda: Majoras's mask. Rad.
also like Windows XP wallpaper
The color palette of this video is just perfect
I be tryna put the homies in the hood on Chon 💯
So much talent. Sick
This drumming is awesome; those ghost notes remind me of Matt Garstka (Animals as Leaders). That's a really sick guitar part at 1:27. Cool band and great song, too! These guys have "it."
Haven't heard of their music for a while.......feels like oxygen coming back, love it
It’s just new age jazz... and I fucking love it.
GIVE ME SOME CHON CHON
These nerds can jam!
bro closing out on the leaf as the album cover was genius.

Incredible guitar.
imagine being happy, talented and handsome, enjoying a summer day with your friends, but we'll never know that feel.
Beautiful
I'm 47 years old but I feel very young when I listen to CHON !! love from FRANCE 🇫🇷 🤘
This is what music is about. This is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
This video is too beautiful!!!!! Now I love Chon!!
Man ..these young boys have talent...beautiful chord structures
That's crazy good, properly groovy.
I'm getting goosebumps while listening, the face-melting kind.
2:07 drums are nastyyyyyyyyyyyyy (in the best way)
This is the most pleasing thing I've ever heard
Goddamn that groove that starts at 2:07 is so amazing :000 wish it was longer it makes me feel so energetic and jolly
I also really like the color saturation of the video. Vibrant yes
what if there was literally a forest where chon just looped
I actually walked in the welds playing chon and was perfect!
the mystical forest of Djent
Sounds like heaven haha :D
if alternate universes exsisted.. there would be a forest where chon looped. lol
Then I would actually go outside
my favorite from them but everything they drop is great
I love their beautiful clean tones! CHON rocks!
I hope them the best the future and I don’t blame for going for record deal. God speed.
This made me happy. I like that. Thank you CHON :]
Talent!
It's like Scale the Summit and Workaholics made a band
Hahaha
Baahaha! But a good band :)
I don't think Scale the Summit is anything like this. And unlike Priscilla's comment, they're actually a good band despite their frontmant's attitude.
just the right polyrhythm, sounds good.
Feels so Gran Turismo-ish background music.. Love it!
Beautiful videography
I shall call this "clean dj0nt"
Mister Crowley How fucking dare you typing those five letters from your filthy keyboard and post them on a CHON video; you should be ashamed of yourself.
Kilgore Trout My keyboard is clean now. What i meant to say was prog. sry sry
Nah man it's cool I'm just projecting my own self-loathing and hatred for myself onto other people on the internet whom I'll never meet; but I really do hate djent.
Ooooooooh! Four minute long breakdowns and whiny singing? Sign me up!
Kilgore Trout Never got it how people can hate djent. We are talking about that Animals as Leaders, TesseracT, Periphery, Monuments, Vildhjarta, Textures-music, aren't we? How can one hate that?
Bella música 🎼🎼 muy feliz. Estan por venir de gira a CDMX. Iremos!!
no wonder when I listen to them outside it's so peaceful
I'm in love
The shot at 1:14 is simply the best

Dude your music's A1. Didn't expect to see you here 😅
I love your music.
you can tell these guys love doing what they do. couldn't write/play anything like that just for the hell of it.
This is hitting my musicial g-spot
J'know? When a band just perfectly encapsulates what you feel like listening at that very moment
This was really great !
Remember when you were a kid and your pet died and your parents told you it went to a happy farm
This is the place they were talking about
Thanks for this!
why did this make me cry? to be fair, chon just does that to me lol
That’s dark lol
1:38 That's one hell of a high "bass" sweep from Drew!
Haha when the guitarists came out of that tree all like "Hey guys it's Scarce here, today's gonna be a double upload"
Arturo Adams it's 5am and i started choking from laughter lmao
This is great, i was hoping somebody would catch this!
Their chord progressions are so Kpop, I love it.
you guys are everything I love about music.so groovy, so funky, you make me feel like I'm playing Sonic on sega or like I'm gonna run a million miles to the stars. I don't know....keep making good music, you guys know what you're doin :)
CHON is very good. I like CHON.
I can taste a lot of Greg Howe here. Good stuff.
Greg WHO?
+Johnnie Marquez no Greg How
+Mr.Legend who dat
Kinda remind me of Greg too. But Greg is more organic & funky, while this sounds structured & dreamy. I like them all though :D
Love from London UK
I can't wait to get this album! (Pun intended)
I want to be as happy as CHON is in this video
So when do their signature ibanez guitar come out?
めちゃくちゃカッコいい! awesome!
they're so cute like little bears
thank god for ur guys music fr. good good stuff
Love the part at 1:03
+Cesar Martinez Biggie smalls--Big poppa..LOL
This is my favorite part too, really leads into the first major solo part well.
Absolutely amazing
*I like the part where he said* 🎸🎵🎶
Finally, a video with the players. They always promote such peaceful lifestyles no matter what, I can't get over how zen their attitudes are. Endless props for the musicians.

The era of technical psycodelic is here.
@1:16 The structure behind Erick and Mar is where CHON played their first show I believe...
I recently discovered CHON, it's dope af !
Reminds me a lot of a japanese band called Toe for some reason.
Much love
toe are a band almost no one talks about but who I think are really good!
toe is great!!!!!
CHON is a bad copy of Fall of Troy and Toe. For Kashikura Takashi is an insult compare with this trash band.
daym man, you just sounded like one hell of an elitist twat xD Can't you just be glad some people will see that comment and discover that magnificient band that is Toe ?
Didn't know about The Fall of Troy tho', just checked and it sounds great

I could listen to that kid shred for hours.
The guy at 0:43-0:44 reminds me of Mario because of his moustache...like every time i look at him all i think of is Mario...
Fun fact: His name is Mario Camarena.
Swagu That was the joke...
this is where everything started to me as a chon fan, in 2017 youtube recommended me this after clicking on physical education by aal and I instantly fell in love with splash. Thank you Chon!
Let's not show anything the drummers doing! Sweet
Jay Durel The drums are my favorite part :(
Jay Durel Agreed, my only problem with the vid.
Jay Durel Nathans Underage b& :///
Jay Durel Yeah that was bloody stupid of them. especially when they prize their instrumentals
They don't show that much to be honest yoooooo.
Awe yay.
This made me all happy and giddy for some reason.
YOooooSHIiiiiiii-CORE!!!
That white shade structure thing in the background at 1:16 is where chon played their first show ever.
I took acid and listened to these guys and I feel like it cleansed my soul.
this is COOL and RELAXING
