The movie was based on Ian Fleming’s book by the same name. Makes sense, fancy gizmo car, love interest named “Truly Scrumptious “, just like his James Bond books.
I would like to point out that the love interest's name, Truly Scrumptious, is actually intentional wordplay. If you took away the "l" in Truly and replace it with a "d", you get Trudy. So in a sense, the love interest's name is actually Trudy Scrumptious. She was called Truly because of how both the children misheard when the maiden introduced herself to them and their father.
I can't imagine any logical reason for all the angst and strife caused by Megan's post.....but I"m no longer an adolescent and perhaps that's the reason.

RIP Richard sherman. One of my fav movies, say hi to your brother and walt disney with us❤
What a film. My childhood and I assume many before me. Still one of my favourites
My wife used to sing this to our rescued dog, Phoebe. And that day when they were coming home from the vet, Phoebe took her last breath, cuddled in her arms, as she sang this song.
I sing this to my chihuahua who is named chili bean so instead of “chitty chitty bang bang” it’s “chilly chilly bean dog” hahaha SHE LOVES IT and when she finally passes I will forever remember one of my favorite movies with one of my all time favorite pets I have ever had
I was looking for my boy Kongming, where the hell am I?
I know right? :D

I was born in the early 90’s & this film was a BIG part of my childhood! Reminds me of watching it with my Mamaw & papaw as a kid. My Mamaw & I used to sing this every single time.
I never really liked this movie, but I came here today to honor Richard Sherman. I’m so sad we lost him today, but his legacy of songs will never leave us.
In the tune of Ace Ventura: 🎶CHITTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY🎶
Movies that can't be remade like ever. Some movies just fit perfectly into an era
there's nothing like the English countryside.
Movie was filmed in France. So nothing like the French countryside 🤷🏻♀️
stokenchurch bucks vroom wiz
Yes, the English countryside before the Great War.
English or Irish
The village they drive through is Hambleden (just outside Henley-on-Thames) and still looks like that today. The windmill where they live is also around the same area
53 years this was made and this is still one of my favourite movies of all time
This film will turn 53 this year, and it hasn’t aged a single day, the magic will live on forever.

I love this movie so much!
When I was in school we played this song in a string quartet for a show💜
Even though this movie was made in late 60s and I was born in mid 90s, this was one of my favorite movies I ever watched. I was so obsessed with this movie I legit watched this over 100+ times over the course of my life. I hope no remake is done to this film. Dick van dyke mentioned that trying to turn the car is a pain in the ass.
With no power steering it would be a pain.
Why am I in tears? This takes me back to my childhood.
Have this on DVD ❤ I loved this movie so much.. Probably the only one here in 2024 :3
