What a fantastic Video ! Really brings back memories. I’m 56 now and was very lucky to fly on a few 737-200’s like Pan Am, Delta Express and LAN Chile. You can definitely feel the power. Was in Margarita Island, Caracas and to see Angel falls(highest waterfall in the world)about 15 years ago. It’s a beautiful country. Can’t wait to see all your videos!
I'm old enough to remember flying on 727-100s and 200s. My favorite was with Southwest Airline when their 200s had a couple of rows of reverse facing seats. The conversation pit . It was fun.,
I loved flying on the noisy, gutsy, little 737-200. My 1st trip on a 737 was on a small 200 model, nice ballsy aircraft even though a bit noisy, seating capacity about 75-85 as I recall. I flew this one from Rochester NY to LGA in NYC short flight in a small snow storm on take off and short flight to NYC. It's a straight turbojet, no fan bypass stages. Not as responsive as later bypass engine models but it sure had some balls.. one of my favorite aircraft models.
Awesome👍. Did flown onboard the -200 once in 2012. Interesting fact : As of February 2024, at least 60 Boeing 737-200 are still in service with some are cargo or combi aircraft.
Amazing video and subject (737-200). Nice to see also, the open-minded way you are about the country and the people. Very refreshing seeing such an approach, so different from most vlogs we see these days. Thank you.
I worked on the 737-100 and 200s for Viscount Air service and later Lorair. they had some of the oldest 737's flying in the early to mid 90's. Fun airplane to work on but I preferred the DC-9 or MD 80 series more.
They used to fly BLA-MIA on an A340-300 exAir China, this plane now is owned by ConViasa. I was on that flight ida y vuelta so many times. What a great widebody service on a three hour ish flight that was. They even served a nice meal, a Cuba Libre cocktail and a glass of wine.
My compny used to have an office in Puerto la Cruz. I flew into BCL from CCS back in 2007 on a DC9-60 in a rainstorm....wont forget that flight ever :). The DC9 was older than I am, but great flight and long, long landing roll out lol
very lucky indeed flying with "tinmouse" here in indonesia in 2000s because local airlines started to lease/purchase second hand b737-200.. what i missed most is the target reverse bucket in deploy with roaring sound of jt8d...
What a great insight to this company and the passion for getting this 737-200 back in the air, no pun intended but they will probably get this -200 certified for flying and passenger carrying quicker than Boeing can do with the Max10😊
Awesome video! I watched Delta Airlines back these out of the gates under their own engine power a few times. Another fun fact: The 737-100 and -200 with the JT8D engines could land on and take off from dirt and gravel (unpaved) runways when a “gravel kit” was installed on the engines to deflect FOD. (The system included other parts and other aircraft types, but…737). The -100 and -200 were the only 737’s to get this kit.
Wow it's lovely how they take care of this beauty but I have a Question kindly correct me if I'm wrong, isn't Venezuela black listed by the USA I thought I can't do business with American companies so where do they get parts for this plane and their other Boeing planes? 🙏
The amount of fuselage skin doublers is disturbing. Not even the oldest highest cycle 732 SWA planes have that much. At 9:20 the foreground plane has doublers that are clearly there as a repair for tailstrike damage. It seems like they do an ok job working with what they have but man I'm glad to have 1st world maintenance at my operation.
great plane, i'd fly on one any day, I couldn't tell you the last time a 727-200 went down. Might have been a hard-over incident or maybe a 200 has never gone down.
Nice barcelona reminds me of the vacations I used to spend on holidays, spending all my salary no matter what, just having a good time. I always dreamed of buying an apartment to go on vacations more often, but destiny didn't work out that way (not to mention politics) but it was a good time while it was still possible.
Guys, fix your receivers, F- receivers filter out almost all mode S aircraft, MLAT is only possible with user-built receivers (T-) please fix that so the 80% of venezuelan fleet can appear on FR24, all Conviasa, Avior, Venezolana, And many other don't show on FR24 because the receivers filter them out 😢
Countries like Iran and Venezuela that politically become isolated (I won't go into more than that) are fantastic for classic airliner geeks. Where else are you going to see a 732 getting a full refurb so it can fly again. Poor Gabe though. He still doesn't get to fly in a 732. Hopefully some day soon though.
I am a rare person😂, my friend. I have flown a 727, an Airbus 300, and a large number of rarities in Iran, such as Fokker and the like. I hope you all do that❤️🌹
Greetings, I worked for 30 years in aviation in Venezuela. I am familiar with the system, having even worked for 5 years at that airline. If you want more information about Venezuelan aviation, feel free to write to me, and I will tell you what you need to know.
@@officialplayboyVenezuela it’s like other countries, we have safe place and dangerous places, like most country’s if you go to the tourist city’s it’s gonna be safe for you, I live now in Portugal, it’s one of the most safe places to visit but you can see in the news tourist getting stabbed for going in unsafe places.
@@Flightradar24DotCom tried that but it would only play subtitles for what you were already saying in English, not what the other guy you were taking to was saying.
I hope you could address with the airline directors the EU blacklist situation. Despite they were approved by FAA and DOT to fly to MIA when it was permited to fly between both coountries, European authorities kept Avior as an unsafe airline to fly with and apparently the airline board wasn't insterested to fix the situation or didn't comply the requirements. I know they have no actual interest, and can't, in flying to E.U. ruled destinations (SXM, CAY, etc.), but it becomes a big red flag in media and potential travelers. I think they should pay attention to this, specially if they are opening their doors to media content creators like you. Regarding the B737-200, good that they try to keep in good shape one or some of them. But they mustn't insist on using them on regular basis. Vintage/themed flying or boarding experience? Yes, very attractive. But while covering scheduled flights, the AOG situations are common, which in turn bring considerable delays and the headaches for travelers and schedule planners as well. Thankfully, Venezuelan pilots are not suicidal and don't expose themselves and passengers to life-threatening flights. Therefore the risk of flying Venezuelan airlines with aged planes are more related to flight delays and cancelations rather than dangerous situations on board.
Getting some random (well a bit random anyway) videographer very uncovered access to the maintenance and parts room of their airline I don't think will help. 😂
@@rkan2 I never suggested that this video will actually help Avior to exit EU's black list. But if they are willing to show some vloggers that they are walking in the right direction, they should address these supposed improvements to American and European authorities.
I have also applied for the radar equipment and I got shortlisted by them 🎉 now they are asking for the photos and details which I gave them. I want to know what happenes after this?
They may have had parts in that room, but if it were actually easy to get them, that plane probably wouldn’t have sat for over a year for a check that normally takes days.
Sanctions are mainly aimed at individuals in Venezuela and there are no restrictions about traveling there as a visitor - the only problem would be if you have a US passport, Venezuela is unlikely to give you a visa. For everyone else it's the same as traveling to any other place.
Here we are trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and these guys have subsided fuel which makes it economic to keep an inefficient aircraft flying. They’re as noisy as hell too. If not for the subsidies I bet they’d spend their money on more efficient aircraft. Nice video though, and I do have nostalgia for the aircraft, being the first jet I ever flew on as a passenger.
The fuel subsidy is nothing new in Venezuela, it has been happening since the 70s, when the oil industry was nationalized. And not only airplane fuel, but also automotive fuel, until not long filling a car's gas tank was cheaper than 1 liter of water, in fact, while in Europe people preferred cars with low fuel consumption, in Venezuela they preferred large cars with V6 V8 engines regardless of their fuel consumption, the total was almost a given.
It is now with the shortage of gasoline, the subsidy now limited to a few liters per month for which you have to wait in lines for days and the rest pay the international price (which is still scarce with exceptions in some bubbles) that people are thinking about the gasoline expense.
Trust me, that’s one of the “safest” and confortable airlines available in the country. I flew on the -200 from Venezolana recently (it appeared on the first video) and well… let’s just say I would think twice even if it’s an emergency
I bet if you boroscope those engines they look like a grenade went off in them. You where invited there to do propaganda. "hey grab that wire harness and pretend to hook it up to the engine"
This should be one of the greatest kindness from an airliner to the entire aviation world.
One of the 732's in Venezuela is the former N7341F from Frontier. I have a photo of me on that plane back at Stapleton in summer 1983.
Very cool!
The amount of effort they put to keep these beauties flying is crazy! Admirable 👍 I hope things get better for Venezuela very soon 🙏
