Good lord! My palms are sweating just watching that. Beautiful views up there for sure. What awesome partners to have on they climb though. They were calm, relaxed, and reassuring.
Holy f***! Done some sketchy hikes, but this is a definite NOPE. Talk about challenging yourself! HUGE kudos to you for taking this on! And the "boys" with you were totally awesome too; 😮
Great video! You did a good job capturing the fun and the fear. You definitely have the heart and the head of a climber. There’s plenty of fun to be had without getting too extreme🧗♀️
Awesome work! Looking forward to future Jerry Arizona climbing adventure films. A favorite climbing quote I occasionally reflect on: "Remember. First you climb with your head, then with your feet and at the end with your hands." - Bruno Detassis
Meru 2 vibes. This is definitely Meru 2. Okay, it's not that, but that summit moment definitely had some similarities in its artistic composition. Wow! Huge respect to you for doing that. That clip at the base when panning up, and my first reaction was, "NOOOOOOOOOOOO, Jerry - don't do it!" But you were clearly with two pros, and you're pretty much a pro yourself. Share future climbing videos as you will, but just know that most of us here are very much content with the hikes. Mad props to you.
Another fine video Jerry, and a sound track that goes well with it. I noticed right away that Tina wasn't on this "hike." Have I ever mentioned that if Tina, who is obviously smart, doesn't go along, then I won't be adding this to my list of things to do when next we're in the desert SW.
That is a bit crazy. Lol. It's tricky to get these kinds of things on film, but you did a great job capturing it. Keep on climbing and sharing your adventures! The description is hilarious by the way
Only reason I looked down was to see where I should put my feet. I tried really hard to focus on the rock up close and not the distance to the ground below.
Props on expanding your outdoor arsenal. Looking forward your upcoming adventures. As its wonderful inspiration weekend outtings. 100% agree that Ben is an awesome photographer.
I even went back up there on a separate trip to try to get the picture myself, but it turned out horrible. Ben's was perfect and he was so nice letting me use it.
Only part I felt uncomfortable on was the crack at the beginning. Because the rope wasn't tight and I knew if I screwed up, I'd swing and it probably wouldn't feel great. On the rest it was fine because I was on belay and the rope was straight above me.
I recently started climbing myself. Every time I go, I am hanging off some sketch thing (all roped up so safe) but I ask myself. Why the hell am I up here haha Then I finish and go I wonder when I'll get to do that again. That climb would awaken my deepest fears! I struggle with exposure on both sides! Curious, were you back clipping on that? I assume you were all three on same rope (not two ropes?)? Fun stuff!
We actually had 2, 70m ropes. Both tied to Jerry. Me and Troy took turns leading, Jerry unclipped the lead rope and then clipped in the trailing rope as he climbed past the gear. The route is actually pretty run out. Zero bolts on pitch 1, only 2 bolts on pitch 2, and 3 on pitch 3. Clipped a couple of old petons on pitch 3 and used a cam as well. Awesome 5.6 route, called The Razors Edge on the Hand. Happy Climbing!
Haha, as soon as I saw you’re going climbing in the superstitions, I was thinking that moonjuice is with you. He got you! 🫣 Man, I’m such a good investigator. 😂😂😂
@ It was your video that inspired to me to do that hike. I remember Tina being so impressed with it. Easily one of my favorites. Climbing the Hand might be your first stepping stone to climbing that first tower.
HelloOOOooo...Hey. Hey... well. All i can say…not for me…way way way prefer the hike videos…hikes i can do. But kudos to you…however. The still title pic is exceptional…and…what does Tina think…think you already know that🙄😉
I actually had another video before this that I'll release next week that's about the closest I'll get to off-roading. Which means Tina and I drove on a dirt road. Dunno if I'll ever get over that fear.
I think I may be the only canyoneer who took up climbing AFTER canyoneering. So much easier going down....Then again, canyoneers think rock climbers are crazy and rock climbers think canyoneers are crazy. I think they're both right.
I spent years living on Prospector not far from this. I made it a point of not hiking where one slip was the last slip. Made me sick watching this. I have too much imagination.
Good lord! My palms are sweating just watching that. Beautiful views up there for sure. What awesome partners to have on they climb though. They were calm, relaxed, and reassuring.
They did a great job keeping me alive and calm.
Holy f***! Done some sketchy hikes, but this is a definite NOPE. Talk about challenging yourself! HUGE kudos to you for taking this on! And the "boys" with you were totally awesome too; 😮
I am very happy they kept me alive during this.
Great video! You did a good job capturing the fun and the fear. You definitely have the heart and the head of a climber. There’s plenty of fun to be had without getting too extreme🧗♀️
No way! Take me back to Oregon.
Awesome work! Looking forward to future Jerry Arizona climbing adventure films. A favorite climbing quote I occasionally reflect on: "Remember. First you climb with your head, then with your feet and at the end with your hands." - Bruno Detassis
“We’re still hiking!!” 😂 Good on you Jerry, impressive accomplishment.
Meru 2 vibes. This is definitely Meru 2. Okay, it's not that, but that summit moment definitely had some similarities in its artistic composition.

You guys are Certifiable!
Absolutely.
Awesome! Really captured the experience well with all the camera angles. Looking forward to the next adventure!
When I was editing, the helmet mounted shots would make me dizzy; definitely needed those static shots to keep it more watchable. Great idea, man.
Your shoulder must be back in commission. Glad to see it.
I was about to say the same thing.
That is a bit crazy. Lol. It's tricky to get these kinds of things on film, but you did a great job capturing it. Keep on climbing and sharing your adventures! The description is hilarious by the way
That looks like fun...
Nice soundtrack Jerry!
Leo Delibes
That third pitch... nope. Thanks for your charity, Jerry.
This just re-enforces why I don’t rock climb. I got queasy every time you looked down!
Only reason I looked down was to see where I should put my feet. I tried really hard to focus on the rock up close and not the distance to the ground below.
EEEK!!! No way, José!
When exactly did you guys climb that. I could have sat in my driveway and watched. I'm in the north Ironwood Rd foothills.❤🎉🪇🥴
This is from a few weeks ago. Can't remember the exact day. It was intense but felt kinda safe as long as someone else was leading and I was roped up.
The Flower Duet, nice!
I did some climbing years ago in Yosemite, but nothing like that. That was some next level exposure. Good job! Thanks for taking us along.
The best kind of friends are the ones that talk you into doing stupid sh*t. Those memories last forever!
JERRY!!! I am so behind on all of your new videos, but holy shit was not expecting this one😅. Epic job man!!
Oooooh, Jerry!🙈💚 Tina's a nurse, right?
Breven and Troy are bad influences :)
😂👍
They definitely are.
Wow, that was crazy. Glad you all made it safely and had fun.
WOW! Great video. What an intense climb.
NO... my stomach was turning over and over. You go Jerry.
Looks like a ton of fun. Great video!
Sitting on the couch about to have an anxiety attack! Egads!!!!
I hiked up to the praying hands with my neighbor who climbed that also. But NO ! He did not talk me into it. Great job Jerry.
It was a lot of fun. At least when you have people lead for you and are always roped up.
Right up front you called it: "INSANE!"
But it's the good kind of insane.
YAY!! Back in the desert🥰. And, OMG you crazy guys. Epic video.
Never, ever, no, not me. I’m a big chicken and would be a danger to other climbers.
But you go Jerry! 🎉
Did Tina watch this? 😮
@@terrivermillion8763 yes. I wouldn’t say she is pleased.
Beautiful views from the top.
Glad you took the video, cause first hand I will never see it. 😂
Jerry, I share your fears of heights, but for some reason ropes and a climbing harness reduces my discomfort massively.
Only part I felt uncomfortable on was the crack at the beginning. Because the rope wasn't tight and I knew if I screwed up, I'd swing and it probably wouldn't feel great. On the rest it was fine because I was on belay and the rope was straight above me.
I’ve often said how I need to do many of your adventures. You won’t see that comment on this video. 😂
Y’all are insane.
That was awesome. Glad I don't have to do it, and can just watch it at home.
I got sweaty just watching this. Could never be me! 🤯😳😳
Nice Jerry! I’ve got a newer issue with heights . . . my palms were sweating watching you
Very nice great upload big thumbs up be safe see you soon 👍👍👍
what? no Tina? lol, can you say smart one!! Awesome guys!!!!
Tina is definitely the smart one.
It's always a fun climb on the "Hand"!
It was so much fun.
That looked horrifying and amazing at the same time.
Perfect summary of how it felt to me.
I really need to poop after watching this. Well done.
Vicarious vertigo was strong. Wow.
Whoa! I think I will keep my feet on the ground. But it looks exhilarating.
@MoonJuiceHikes sounds exciting!
Vicarious panic attack.
Haha, as soon as I saw you’re going climbing in the superstitions, I was thinking that moonjuice is with you.
He got you! 🫣
Man, I’m such a good investigator. 😂😂😂
😂
Yeah. I think they live out there full time.
all I can say is you're braver than I am. Nice job
🎉🎉 Wow!
jeesh, am gettin anxiety just watchin
Crazy!
Wow...not for me...but loved watching you do it
Wow. Very cool. Not for me, but very cool.
Awesome!
Jeeeeeeeeeeeze, gave me vertigo, no thanks!!
it would be a hoot to see you do the thumb on toms thumb
@@adenweisenhunt3933 it’s on my list. There’s a route up there that’s in my ability range so one of these days.
Yea, that's a nope on a rope with the pope for this dope...
Mad bastards, well done.
Next stop….Fisher Towers…a few miles outside of Moab.
I’ve hiked it and watched a video on someone climbing it. Looks absolutely terrifying.
@ It was your video that inspired to me to do that hike. I remember Tina being so impressed with it. Easily one of my favorites. Climbing the Hand might be your first stepping stone to climbing that first tower.
That thing has been there thousands of years. There is no reason for it to fall now……..or ever….right?……right?? 😳😬😱
Insanity…!
My hat's off to you guys.
But eff that.
HelloOOOooo...Hey. Hey...
well. All i can say…not for me…way way way prefer the hike videos…hikes i can do. But kudos to you…however. The still title pic is exceptional…and…what does Tina think…think you already know that🙄😉
Check out the description. A guy on instagram (Ben Fairchild) let me use his picture. Mine were horrible. I'm not a good photographer.
You could have at least carried a rope.
😂
I tried and was told I was unqualified.
You said you’d never rock climb, does that mean you’ll go off-roading?
I actually had another video before this that I'll release next week that's about the closest I'll get to off-roading. Which means Tina and I drove on a dirt road. Dunno if I'll ever get over that fear.
@ well, if you’re ever up for tackling that fear, let me know.
I am playing the video, liking, and engaging just because I like you... that said, I can not watch. I get too anxious with heights.
This is definitely not the video for you then.
🙈😅
Is this supposed to be fun? Jeeez. Certainly not for me!! Now that getting down kinda looked like fun to me though :-)
I think I may be the only canyoneer who took up climbing AFTER canyoneering. So much easier going down....Then again, canyoneers think rock climbers are crazy and rock climbers think canyoneers are crazy. I think they're both right.
Please don't do this again. I have an extreme fear of heights and almost couldn't watch! Good job!
👍🏻💪🏻🫶🏻
man…
I spent years living on Prospector not far from this. I made it a point of not hiking where one slip was the last slip. Made me sick watching this. I have too much imagination.
Yikes.
Jerry, does Tina know you are doing this!!!
