Who knows what else they have in mind for this offseason.
Honestly they might not even have to trade Ayton...they can get another big body in free agency and maybe one more shooter for catch and shoot scenarios....but at the very least another big to help down low
My biggest question is: Which of the 3 stars is willing to take a hit to their statistical production for the betterment of the team? The only times constructed super teams have won championships is because the 3rd guy sacrificed personal numbers so they could win (Chris Bosh in Miami, Kevin Love in Cleveland). You could look at Kevin Durant during his time with the Warriors and see he was okay with getting 25-26 a game when he had been getting 28-32 with OKC, so maybe it's him? Beal is a few seasons removed from averaging 30+ and has only been putting up 23 PPG the last couple of years (mostly due to not being completely healthy), so maybe it's him? I think Booker gets his no matter what, maybe even being close to 30 PPG. We'll see how it works. I'd be shocked if all 3 split the numbers and got 23 PPG each, which honestly would be a winning formula.
It's also about who is going to learn to spot up to score. Other thing about those successful trios is Chris Bosh and Love totally change their games. They could always shoot, but they were primarily post up players. They instead started to space the floor and try and knock down threes. They stopped getting plays called for them - especially in the post. Bradley Beal has to be ready to knock down open 3s. That's not really his game. More of a midrange scorer, but he needs to be hitting threes and spotting up waiting for the ball. It's a tough role to have.
All of this true, I think their biggest hurdle will be health. All 3 over the past few years have had issues staying healthy. 2nd issue I have with them is who will be the playmaker? I know Booker has it in him at times, but still don’t see him as a PG/ Playmaker. This can obviously be addressed in FA or possibly trading Ayton. Then there is all the stuff you mentioned with roles, this team has too many questions right now

@genosnatsuki I’m convinced a lot of people don’t even watch basketball. You just look at a stat sheet and then say anything. There’s no way a coherent person could watch Kobe, then watch Booker and think they are on the same level.
"People keep bringing up that KD is 35 but he missed 3 years so isn't like a normal 35. He hasn't gone through as much attrition." Mr. Smith, he missed 3 years DUE TO INJURY. If anything, 3 season-ending injuries is more attrition than old age.
KD going to be a year older with the body of a 48 year old vegetarian soccer mom. Most players decline his age…he’s not built solid. He can’t handle being the clear 1, which is why his playoff efficiency has went down and turnovers up every season except twice in his career. Couple that with their roster flaws, I don’t see them winning it all. Yeah they’ll be a good team, better be with all that firepower.
@@Sucka41Love yes. I saw KD average 30 and whatever but on decreased efficiency, which is normal for in the playoffs when teams stop letting him go 1on1 at a high frequency. To top it off the "anomaly" allowed Golden State to also retain most of the supporting cast that contributed to the 73 -9 team. It was insanity. It was a Dream team among 29 teams. Those who understand basketball fron the front office perspective as well know that most super teams don't work because even a 3 all star / max players super team, means that 90% of the salary cap is assigned to 3 players, and the other 9 are basically either rookies or near retirement verterans on a minimum deal. That's how the 2010-2014 Miami Heat where built, thats how the HORRIBLE 2021-2022 Russell Westbrook Lakers super team was built. What Golden State did: 4 all stars in their primes, plus a quality supporting cast WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. Especially with the new "Anti Super Team" CBA.

1. Ayton for Tim Hardaway, the 10th pick & ether maxi kiaber, Dwight Powell or Mcgee.
2. Ayton for Malcom brogan and ethier grant Williams or Robert Williams.
3. Ayton for Wendell Carter, Garry Harris and 1st
4. Ayton for Clint capela and ethier Bogdan or hunter
5. Ayton for Bojan, Ethier Isiah Stewart or Wiseman and a 1st.
6. Ayton for Mitchell Robinson, Quickly and a 1st
STILL CAN'T BEAT DENVER
Thank you for making these videos. I absolutely love baseball, but I like all sports generally. However, I do follow the NBA during playoff time. I appreciate these clips because it gives me a glimpse into the current ins and outs of basketball. I had never heard of Bradley Beal until a few days ago. Now he's all over the news.
You love basketball but never heard of Beal until a few days ago? 🤔 Interesting...
SAS IS THAT YOU??!
@@chinonsoude this is not AI. I'm a person. Middle-aged woman writing a comment.
Molly interruptions are annoying. Just let the people who know about sports talk.
I like when they get off topic and start hollering, dope azz connection 😂, they put each other on blast. Hilarious
Mad dog is hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Danny Anige is a helluva GM plus he help bring number 17 to Boston by trading Al Jefferson for KG and the 5th pick in the draft(Jeff Green) for Ray Allen then sign a whole lot of vets that off season and no I'm not comparing him to the Logo
Jj lost all credibility saying booker better than kd. Can’t take these dudes seriously
If JJ is on ESPN I’m watching it 🫡
KD already played on a iso-centric top heavy offensive team with no rebounding or interior presence so he wants more of the same on a different team? I need everyone on ESPN to stop glazing this guy, it's not going to work and I'm tired of teams neglecting other important aspects of winning basketball.
Is it because Skip and Shannon are gone that I'm seeing more Stephen A recommendations/videos? Man I miss Shannon
Mad Dog lookin at SAS like he's an actual dog and SAS is prime rib 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Phoenix has no depth. Another superstar gathering that wont work. the Nets, Lakers w/Malone, Kobe, Glove, etc.
Stephen A think he slick in the first bit of this segment 😂
I got the shoes 😂😂 he trynna force Molly to his house to get the shoes
Devin Booker is nowhere near Kobe’s level. The only thing they have in common is Booker has a mid range game.
@genosnatsuki I’m convinced a lot of people don’t even watch basketball. You just look at a stat sheet and then say anything. There’s no way a coherent person could watch Kobe, then watch Booker and think they are on the same level.
This trio low key cold
"People keep bringing up that KD is 35 but he missed 3 years so isn't like a normal 35. He hasn't gone through as much attrition." Mr. Smith, he missed 3 years DUE TO INJURY. If anything, 3 season-ending injuries is more attrition than old age.
I have heard an orthopedic surgeon say that a major leg injury …even if you’re healed..is equivalent to at least three years of normal aging.
Shannon should do a show with Redick or Mad Dog
KD going to be a year older with the body of a 48 year old vegetarian soccer mom. Most players decline his age…he’s not built solid. He can’t handle being the clear 1, which is why his playoff efficiency has went down and turnovers up every season except twice in his career. Couple that with their roster flaws, I don’t see them winning it all. Yeah they’ll be a good team, better be with all that firepower.
Sound like the rest of these haters say so much negative about one person which who don’t control teams but somehow kd name always in the convo
Bro did you watch the playoffs ?? 😂
@@itsjmell3768 kd hasn’t played with all the talent he has by simple luck.
@@Sucka41Love yes. I saw KD average 30 and whatever but on decreased efficiency, which is normal for in the playoffs when teams stop letting him go 1on1 at a high frequency. He’s only gotten over the hump in GS when curry and Thompson allowed him to consistently go 1on1. He shot 57% in the regular season with BK and PHX all the way down to 47%. Come playoff time, that physicality goes 📈 and his efficiency goes 📉. Not to mind he turns the ball over more.
They traded ayton and got no depth from it just realized he was on the team with the big 3
Ima call it rn, KD is gonna break one of those toothpick legs in the first 20 games & they wont be the same afterwards. Suns aint even gonna be top 8 in their conference next season
Stephen A be spazzin lol, and he just kilt Molly😅😅😅😅
I’ve never seen Stephan A back down to anyone in 15 years until he debated JJ reddick. time to hand over the ropes
Nope, no depth. Thats what killed them in the playoffs.
Old Suns owner-
"He's cheap, doesn't want to spend money"
New owner-
"How dare you build a super team"
Love Mad Dog
This big 3 will be awesome. They all know how to play offball. They are nothing like Kyrie and Harden who like to dominate the ball
I'm stoked about next season hopefully suns get a solid something at center. Ayton reminds me of Steven hunter
The "past six months mark" part about the shoes tho 😅
Good job ESPN. Great convo. Please keep Kendrick Perkins off the set!
Mad dog is right about Thomas. Forgot to mention Thomas's involvement with Raptors.
yup. mad dog hilarious tho lmao
Suns turned out to be Denver's biggest challenge enroute to title 1. I saw it all the way but when the series was knotted up at 2-2 a lot of people thought it was a coin flip. And they had no game plan -just Book and KD taking turns. So at minimum the chemistry will improve from tenure and they'll have a legit 3rd scoring option. I think you have to peg them at #2 in the conference coming into next season. But calling them a superteam is clickbait. Beal is not a superstar. KD will be 35. If health permits, they'll have a chance to compete.
That Mad Dog and JJ beef is real lol
So sitting for 3 years due to injury is now a way to preserve the body? I think age is age yo.
Suns were bad 10 straight years and the bubble changed them. Love this run of them going 8-0 in the bubble, making the finals, and now coming full circle having Beal and Durrant. Let’s go
I agree if I’m management why wouldn’t I do it. Great move shows willingness to go for it and put pieces around a young Booker going forward
I agree with JJ.
Steven A is wrong about replacing John Stockton on the dream team. All-time assist and steal leader was a perfect fit.
he is the wrong shade for Stephen
I wish Molly would just stay quiet
sounded like Stephen A was rapping at 7:12
This was a good debate. I like all perspectives
mad dog refuses to like anything thats not pre-1980
Kevin Durant calling Bradley Beal to save him 😭😭😂
Even with Beal Phoenix still won’t beat Denver in the playoffs
So who is going to be the leader on the court to make it flow .
Molly needs to go!!!
J.J always on point.
Almost every show Stephen A says something slick about wht NBA coaches or players. This time it was Vogel is a ok coach. Stockton didnt deserve to be on the dream team, the NBA all time leader in assists and steals lmao...
Notwithstanding professionalism and an incredible amount of knowledge and experience between these three guys on the panel, I respect how those three don't back away from debating their biases, even when these preferences have race/culture overtones. Support your own without apology. Why not?! No need to always be 'politically correct'. In my opinion, it supplies a sense of reality, humanity and relatability to the show, without being rude and debasing.
Larry Legend won multiple MVPs, coach of the year, & GM of the year..
How does Stephen A remain composed with Mad Dog smiling at him like a crazy person?
KD loves superteams than his own hairbrush 🤦🏾♂️
ESPN is always late on this. This is has been and will be Booker's team.
@13:35 JJ there’s one team that won the championship when they made an in-season trade…the Toronto Raptors traded for Marc Gasol in 2019….
Lmao “i turn into a pumpkin every time i go on set”
Its definitely gonna make phoenix better, but i dont think this move is gonna get em past Denver
Bradley Beal is their New Point Guard 😅
I know not a lot of people would agree but I would like to see 1 year of Ayton with a new coach
KD didnt just miss time laying on a beach with a corona ,he was out with MAJOR INJURIES..So that negates the whole "there is no wear and tear on his body". Dumbest thing i ever heard someone say
His knees are bad,but his thighs and elbows don't have normal wear and tear
KD was out because 2 players literally fell into his knee. That's not wear and tear genius. Those are contact injuries. Whatever is going on with Kawhi is wear and tear. You really thought you sounded smart that time.
I think they will 💯
LuV JJ and MadDog 😂 with SAS
Molly always got something dumb to say
I'm just happy to hear someone sat Stockton didn't belong on the Dream Team for Isiah. I've heard people say my favorite player Clyde Drexler should have been off. He was the second-best 2/3 in the league at the time.
Book and KD are injury prone, Beal can score but watch how they his suns team gets dominated in the paint. They will have 0 depth, let’s see how this goes
talent is one thing, but can they play with each other? and what bench does phoenix have?
Kd missing 3 seasons due to injury does not add to his longevity 😂
The suns have to get rid of ayton because they don’t know how to use him. He was the number one pick who has actual post moves and they treat him like he’s deandre Jordan offensively.
Maybe , kinda how sabonis started thriving
13:35 JJ said by far the most important thing, that a lot of people don't know or CHOOSE to ignore because they hate certain player with 3 of his 6 finals loses being against GSW. And it is that in 2016 the salary cap was somehow dramatically increased by what JJ Reddick calls an "Anomaly" but i call "help from above" that allowed the 73 - 9 Golden State team, to add A FOURTH ALL STAR AND FUTURE HALL OF FAMER - ALL IN THEIR PRIMES.
Yeah, and on a side note, that’s why Harden and the Rox are under appreciated, they came the closest of all teams in beating the healthy KD Warriors.
"he's the historian" 😂😂 ROASTED
Thomas admitted that he had no business being the coach of the Knicks because of personal issues distracting him.
Realistically they just need one more big defender. They have the big 4 plus okogie Craig Payne and Ross. Trade ayton and Craig for a more defensive minded center and big wing type and they will contend well with denver
Craig is solid no need to trade him.
So they didn't have any dept before Beal and now they are favorites 😂😂😂😂
In essence they have 3 explosive guards and no motivated bigs and no defense.
Booker and Suns made more sense than KD and Suns.
