Well i have this trailer for one year now, we left the east coast of Canada and drove down to Mexico, we have been in Mexico for 8 months now, i have a V6 dogve Ram 1500 outdooorsman , i'm with my wife and my son, he is almost 2 years old now, we ha ve been trveling for almost a year now with this trailer, the frame is strong, i like it, for Mexico road thats a good trailer, not to heavy on the pickup to, you dont want anything bigger here in Mexico, the fridge for sure is too small, the door of the cabinet need a lock, otherwise it's a mess, thats right the water tank are a issue you cant be offroad very long, 2-3 days max, you need to get empty and fill up the water tank, the litle televison beside the sink is taking to much space, i install a bigger one up behind the banket, the AC and heat arent plug on a numerical thermostat , so its on or off for the AC and the heater its a litle thermostat not very acurate, when you look behing the kitchen sink you can see that the way they cut wheel protector is very gross, and you can see it under the banket, so you need to add urethane, the cover under the trailer is pretty cheap too, perfect for insect like ants to comme in and join you for the night, seriously this should have been done with a better material, i add 2 other solar panel so i have 500 watt total off grid, very cool when you travel you can put your frig on electric, i add a other battery, and a inverter of 4500 watt, cause there is no inverter , there is a converter but there is no inverter, well the suspension on the wheel is very good, overall its a good minimalist trailer, but the finition of it is not very as glamoor as i tot it would be, the silicone as been done grossely, well but guess what i like this trailer !
I think they achieved a great balance of features for the length of the trailer. Hard to believe they fit bunks in there - great cargo space! Wouldn't change a thing!
I like the smaller refrigerator but is needs to be a 12 volt compressor refrigerator now that solar is more affordable. Another award winning video from our Uncle Josh.
Perfect for a small family who enjoys being outside whenever they can. It would be nice to have a bathroom sink but not really possible in this floor plan.

I think they have a killer look and the marketing is like "HOLY COW YOU'RE GONNA TAKE THIS SUCKER WAY OFF GRID BROTHER" which feels a bit like over selling it. I think the biggest difference is the 7ft vs 8ft body size. Beyond that they each snipe the other in a few little ways
I like that you mentioned the dead-bolting cargo door and kids. I’ve been looking around at campers and the first time I seen one with the cargo door there I thought. Well I wonder if someone would be able to snap my kid out while asleep. I guess for older kids it could also be a door to sneak out of 😂
Nice weekender, but otherwise need a big fridge. Thanks for showing this size trailer, slightly larger is my target, but i like seeing them all. Another great video; thanks!
In general the freshwater and greywater capacity are the biggest limitations for boondocking or electrical hookup only camping, along with the ability to store enough food and gear.
I like the non-coffin bunks. Someone could actually sit on the edge and lie down like they're real beds. I also like the decor colors. I'm starting to really hate the black and white "farmhouse" decor so it's a relief to see other colors now. I wish there was room for a sink in the bathroom. I swear I've seen folding sinks in wet baths somewhere. If we owned this one we'd have to use the bunks for sleeping and replace that bed with a sofa. Our days of climbing over each other in the middle of the night are long gone. The fridge might hold what we need for a weekend trip but the freezer would be too small. I guess it's not really for us as much as I like some of the features.
Nice weekender get away unit , I would prefer a larger refrigerator , but not a complete negative if you are only using it to get away for a day or two .
Totally liking the attached ladder, solar and porcelain toilet, but there ain’t nothing appealing about a decades old dinette only east west camp queen bed floorplan that sleeps 5 but only seats 2 uncomfortably with a mini fridge, mini sink, 2 burner stovetop and a cheap 4 inch fart fan😔😔😔
I love the square or is it rectangle kitchen sink fabulous great great job when a bagel cannot stand circle sinks I’ll deal with circle things but I still just don’t like the look of them.
I could see this unit working well for someone with limited tow vehicle capacity and maybe they were considering an R-Pod, but would like something a little more upscale. Plenty of sleeping and eating space for a small group of people. Depending on how much you use the inside kitchen, the fact it doesn't have any drawers may be an issue. Without adding some sort of drawer/storage I don't know what you would do with eating and cooking utensils. I was actually totally surprised when you showed the sewage tank blade valves being located inside the heated enclosed area. I don't know how many manufacturers go to the trouble of having a heated/enclosed underbelly and then leave the blade valves out in the weather..............nice move on Winnebago's part. And the fact it is "Toilet TV Certified" makes all the difference! This way you don't miss a minute of the action of your favorite show!
Would be interesting to see how that dinette table works. That would have been a great show and tell. Does it fold up and store vertically? It’s got a unique folding mechanism.
This is the only one lacking that bigger fridge as their smallest model. Their tandem axle 1800 will have that bigger fridge A few other builders in this size have done the bigger fridges though so you should have some good options
No bathroom sink doesn't thrill me but I actually prefer just to not have it vs shoe horning in one of those crappy shower corner plastic sinks. Do not like the lack of a stove hood especially on a premium trailer. Love the counter space. As for the fridge I think I would want to see it replaced with something like a nova kool R5810. It's still an under counter sized fridge but it uses a dc compressor so it has more interior space (5.8 cubic feet). I'm also a big fan in general of convection microwaves in rv's and especially in a smaller trailer where the oven means giving up so much of your storage space. This kitchen would be much worse off if it didn't have that storage space under the cooktop.
I think the fridge size is fine for a small trailer as in my mind storage > fridge space. By keeping beverages in a cooler you free up a lot of space in the fridge for food and the like. Also with the plugin coolers/freezers you have these days they really become a second fridge that you can place wherever it is convenient. I don't like the lack of a vent over the range. Lance has been leaving it out on their 2022 models as well. I don't see how you can call yourself a premium RV product when you don't have basic features that are in entry level brands that sell for much less. If nothing else then make them an option but it really seems like nickel and dime'ing trying to cut a couple of hundred bucks in these higher priced trailers.
@@JoshtheRVNerd I think that was the idea based on a conversation I had with Lance last month. As I told them that might be ok in an entry level camper but not one that is in the $60K - $70K range. A range vent will have a filter and doesn't suck the cooking stuff through the trailer where relying upon a ceiling vent will cause it to potentially build up grease and pull all of the cooking odors through the trailer. I don't know if they will change this or not but I got the impression removing the vent was not a popular idea with a number of folks at the company. It's part of the reason we are taking our time on replacing the old trailer as it appears to me the manufacturers are kind of going through some changes and not completely sure of where they want to go with designs and features.
I’d say go with a bigger fridge. I can always store cereal and canned goods in the fridge if I need to, but I can’t store milk and meat in the pantry. (Much like how I can store pots and pans in an oven, but I can’t bake a pizza in a cupboard.)
Great video. I had that size fridge back in 2004 lol. Too small for me. Excellent prep area. The white cupboard doors looks like a bad match. Well viewing it on my phone, could be wrong. Did the beef up the bottom bunk? Seen a few earlier 1700 bh bottom bunks crushed. Again, great video.
@@JoshtheRVNerd The size of the bottom slats supporting the bottom bunk should be doubled up and a thicker piece of plywood under the mattress. The bottom bunk slats could be covered like the Geo pro to look finished. The support as it is now is less than 250 lbs. One roll by a 250 lbs person and you will hear the crack lol.
If you have more than 2 people the fridge needs to be bigger. Plus you could put storage around a refrigerator that is a little bit bigger than what is there.
The one change I would make? A different exterior color. The 2nd Change? A 2 to 3 inch suspension drop. (A little lower ride height.) it would make this trailer look a lot sleeker. There is plenty of room in the wheel wells to accomplish that drop.
I'd like to see a bigger two-way fridge rather than the extra storage. Definitely move the outlet at the foot of the bed UP. What were they smoking? LOL. I would want a theater seat instead of the dinette. I like all the USB ports and the wireless phone charger. Nice. THEY use slammers all the way around while many bigger higher end brands still use cam locks or worse...a hodgepodge mix of both! Pretty nice for the most part. 7/10.
I don't believe there's any plan to do so. Those were colors offered by their fiberglass supplier who has since stopped offering the variant color packages
I'm sure that would be just perfect for some young families but as an old lady who is picky & feisty it's a thanks but no thanks. If you gave it to me I'm sure one of my kid's families would take it.
After watching this I love the fact they put a smaller fridge in this unit!! Im still planing to buy the ember 170mbh. The fact it dosnt have a true queen bed and the wood floor is something I’d prefer the ember for. I do wish ember would give an option for a smaller gas/electric fridge option on the 170mbh tho. But still prefer the ember. And I’m still hoping they implement the ember trac system for the bunks in the 170 before I buy one next year🤞🤞🤞🤞
And I like that the true queen bed in the 170mbh is a Murphy bed to have full seating during the day. I know the ember is more expensive but no wood structure to me is a purchasing decision I won’t compromise on. Buying my first/last RV the first time ❤️❤️
yeah my eyebrows went up when I saw it and I questioned if it wasn't a typo but our team is getting *REALLY* aggressive on stuff right now (as you saw)
This is a nice little camper but I think your recent Cougar 5th wheel would be less of a deal breaker potential😊😊 BTW Josh I seen 1 one of you Bish's Team Member's Waving at you, say him 4 me.😊😊👍👍👍👍👍
I love this trailer. I’m just wishing they didn’t put a curtain for privacy and used something else. The curtain looks a bit sloppy. Maybe if the curtains were shorter but still allowed privacy, it’ll look neater when closed.
We had an 1800bh, same floorplan except 1' longer with double axle. Gives you 3 burner cooktop, larger 12v fridge (or optional 2 way), and ducted a/c with not much more weight. I think getting rid of the range hood (2021 and prior had them) was a mistake and for someone who has small kids, no light switches in the bathroom was not ideal.
I am chuckling because people commenting are griping about the ‘60’s and ‘70’s layout. But I think that is what I like about this unit. A no nonsense layout that is actually usable and gives reasonable comfort. I do not get the trend where everyone wants a 20 cubic foot full height refer in a small camper/travel trailer. The convection microwave is a great compromise for removing the oven and adding a pantry space. I appreciate the upgraded suspension and the use if regular steps, and how the sewer piping is tucked up out of the way giving the trailer a clean undercarriage. What that does is give you a cleaner higher running ground clearance. That in turn allows the trailer box to sit lower while maintaining said ground clearance, thus lowering overall height, reducing step in height, allowing for a smaller cleaner entry stair setup. It also lowers roof height for overall clearance. And, with the lower overall height, your reducing the trailer poking up into the wind frontal area by upwards of 7 square feet, which significantly reduces the additional continuous road horsepower absorption and its increased fuel cost to travel the same distance at higher speeds. I also like the overall fitment of a generally higher grade of materials on the inside. Where that feature really shines is after the sale and the camper has been getting some regular use, the wear and tear and degradation of the cabinetry, furnishings and sheathing holds up much better and does not show its “cheap” and shoddy workmanship. I am glad you pointed out that this is not a value or low entry price point trailer, but it’s a mid grade trailer and it does cost a bit more going in.
Layouts like this remind me of crocodiles.. they didn't need to change because they just kept working. Just because something's been around for a while doesn't mean it's not good
I would change the knobby off road tires out for highway tread tires for better fuel efficiency. This is not a trailer to go mud slogging, rock hopping and stump jumping with.
I would rather have a bigger refrigerator so I would move the sink and cook top down and put the refrigerator where the pantry cabinet is. I would alleviate the TV and just keep the plugs for it so you can just sit one on the counter if you wanna watch tv on a rainy day. The last thing I would want would be one of the wet sinks that you see in the showers so you have a place to wash your hands and brush your teeth instead of having to do it in the kitchen.
Couldn’t they put the USB outlet up a little bit and then put the electrical charger underneath the USB that would be better than they both be within the same area be less wire are used
I don’t like: the lack of a bathroom sink. And not a fan of the ‘D’ top dinette table. When it’s down, it’s a knee/shin-whacker, even up, it’s unnecessarily big. That being said this unit has a lot going for it, except the CCC, given there are no slides. If there’s no increasing the CCC, I wish the bathroom was full-width at the back, w/a sink, and in lieu of bunks, make the leftover bit (after expanding the loo) could be made into a desk area. It’s just me & my husband. We have no need of bunks, but to have an office spot for him (in case he was to take this to an accident scene and file reports get statements, make/take calls out of the weather…) would be excellent. And way more comfy than trying to office out of his truck when necessary. But again, I love this quality compact Minnie.
Hi , I like this one . It ✔️ most of the boxes. Can we add more solar ? I'm good with ceiling & a/c unit my bald spot won't hit unless I wear like some elevator shoes or something. Idk You can bring it to my house we'll have a pajama party.🙋💣🚽💥💥
What I'd like to see is a 3000 lb light version. I would like to see propane removed. Bottles can be added if cold. Then removable duxtop induction cooker inside and outside. Need to watch again so good. Tesla Model Y has 3500lb 350 rating. Also 8000 btu side mount ac I would like better as I am 6 2 too.
It really kills me (joking) that waaaay cheaper campers will have a range hood but a premium Winnebago doesn't??? C'mon Winnebago! A regular oven should at least be a option Josh.
When you get to their 8ft models they have them But I do 100% understand what you're saying. They're not an entry level price point and that feels like a feature you pretty much expect
In my opinion, cargo capacity is a joke and it’s going to be a challenge for a family not to overload it (especially with all that storage available + hitch receiver in the back). We used to own 2018 1700bh and its low cargo capacity was a HUGE issue for us. After 2 camping seasons we traded it for 2020 1800bh with 3.3K lbs cargo capacity. That made a huge difference. Sadly, Winnebago stopped producing them with such high cargo capacity starting with 2021 models 🙁. Other than that this 1700bh is awesome. Unfortunately, in my experience people rarely understand the importance of cargo capacity number and they don’t pay enough attention to it.
UJ… help me understand the point of putting snow tires on trailers. The point of snow tires is that they give you traction on snow on a drive tire. Trailer axles are not drive axles. I don’t see the point. Is it strictly an esthetic? A marketing scheme?
@Donald Bailey .. They're more of a tougher tire for like going down dirt roads people that do a lot of boondocking. Unlike the normal highway tires with these you have a less chance of getting a flat if you're going down rocky roads or dirt roads.
Frankly Donald.. I think a great deal of it is the "Look factor" It gives a "Beefy" look to an RV You'll often find them on RVs MFGs call "off road" or I call "off pavement" If you plan to do some light off-pavement towing, then they're a little more resilient to things like punctures from stones Keep the questions coming my guy!
Don't like bending over for fridge. Give me full size fridge and no pantry. Also I wish bunks were 300lbs. I would think if jayco can do 300 single and 600 double everyone can. Otherwise nice camper.
For me personally that fridge doesn’t work. Neither does a full size only bed work. Would not want this camper. Only for small people with small kids that like to carry an expensive cooler too.
Disappointed they switched to Westlakes from made in the USA Goodyears. BOO!!!!! And they forgot to remove the Goodyear sticker so hopefully this is just a one-off.
Clarification: They did not switch from Goodyears to Westlakes. They use Goodyears on all other models _with the exception of this one_ To go to a goodyear tire on this model they'd have to change hubs which would change axles which would change the chassis.. kneebone to legbone It would significantly ding the cost on this one and even the weight just for a different tire. So they made the call to keep westlakes on this one and use goodyears on everything else

I agree 100% with this actually. Sometimes people look at me sideways when I talk about storing dry goods in a fridge but.. it works!
I am not sure on the bunk as we have only just started carrying these at my home store again so I don’t have a good base of knowledge on them
@@JoshtheRVNerd The size of the bottom slats supporting the bottom bunk should be doubled up and a thicker piece of plywood under the mattress.
It's funny.. they USED to ride lower & had a lot of requests to raise them up. So many it became standard..
Awesome FREE winterizing W●W that is good service
We didn't even do that as Haylett RV
It was something that made our entire team here go "whoa.. that's cool!"
Speaking of smaller cool trailers, just in case you haven't heard yet Intech has moved to a much bigger plant for their RV trailer production.
That's good to hear. I'm excited to try to find a few more of those to review this coming year
@@JoshtheRVNerd I bet they would be glad to have you do a factory tour video, maybe the first one.
7/10.
TY for the feedback!
When are they going to bring back the optional exterior sidewall colors like red, blue, yellow and orange?
I don't believe there's any plan to do so. Those were colors offered by their fiberglass supplier who has since stopped offering the variant color packages
I'm sure that would be just perfect for some young families but as an old lady who is picky & feisty it's a thanks but no thanks. If you gave it to me I'm sure one of my kid's families would take it.
Can you swap the dinette with a sofa?
They're not offering that at this time, though I'd love to see more MFGs open up that option
Buying my first/last RV the first time ❤️❤️
After looking at that sale price tho that’s very tempting! Hell of a deal
yeah my eyebrows went up when I saw it and I questioned if it wasn't a typo but our team is getting *REALLY* aggressive on stuff right now (as you saw)
This is a nice little camper but I think your recent Cougar 5th wheel would be less of a deal breaker potential😊😊 BTW Josh I seen 1 one of you Bish's Team Member's

$20,000 is a great price for this camper.
Yeah our team is *really* working close with folks on these
This is $20k US? Just got a quote in Canada $33k. Even at the exchange rate wow....
I have that one coming too!!
@@JoshtheRVNerd it was a great camper, but we needed more space. We moved up to a Voyage 3033bh.
I like it, but the fridge is a deal breaker. Prefer a 12 volt, and I don't know that I could live with the small size.
Try this one perhaps: bit.ly/3uDRMUb
Thanks for the gone with the wind comment!
Layouts like this remind me of crocodiles.. they didn't need to change because they just kept working.
Just because something's been around for a while doesn't mean it's not good
I guess it would be funny to literally use your head to turn on the air conditioning in a short interior height travel trailer.
Hahaha
Thx Chris
Couldn’t they put the USB outlet up a little bit and then put the electrical charger underneath the USB that would be better than they both be within the same area be less wire are used
Yeah I'd like to see that tweaked just a bit
This is all fair -- you might like this one for a little more CCC bit.ly/3uDRMUb
The tandem axle helps for sure
Hi , I like this one . It ✔️ most of the boxes. Can we add more solar ? I'm good with ceiling & a/c unit my bald spot won't hit unless I wear like some elevator shoes or something. Idk You can bring it to my house we'll have a pajama party.🙋💣🚽💥💥
Yeah solar could be expanded
Chuck the TV. Then you got something.
Fair enough
What I'd like to see is a 3000 lb light version. I would like to see propane removed. Bottles can be added if cold. Then removable duxtop induction cooker inside and outside. Need to watch again so good. Tesla Model Y has 3500lb 350 rating. Also 8000 btu side mount ac I would like better as I am 6 2 too.
My mom says she likes your polo. Said she would like you just in that 🤷♂️
My favorite outfit?
I like to put on tube socks
And a smile

It really kills me (joking) that waaaay cheaper campers will have a range hood but a premium Winnebago doesn't??? C'mon Winnebago! A regular oven should at least be a option Josh.
When you get to their 8ft models they have them
But I do 100% understand what you're saying. They're not an entry level price point and that feels like a feature you pretty much expect
Dedicated fridge.
Can you sign my RV & I need a hot dog roller machine with my RV purchase , you can drive it to my house in VA .
I don't disgree on the CCC. This is a recurring challenge across a LOOOOT of RV brands right now
pantry door is warped.. Not a fan of crouching down to look in a fridge.
Well you got 174bh here. Weight is 3280 lbs. Nice but I want less than 3000 lbs. Really nice though.
Yep yep - similar layout for sure
UJ… help me understand the point of putting snow tires on trailers. The point of snow tires is that they give you traction on snow on a drive tire. Trailer axles are not drive axles. I don’t see the point. Is it strictly an esthetic? A marketing scheme?
@KIT Stone Superior for what?
@Donald Bailey .. They're more of a tougher tire for like going down dirt roads people that do a lot of boondocking. Unlike the normal highway tires with these you have a less chance of getting a flat if you're going down rocky roads or dirt roads.
They are not a snow tire but an all terrain tire which looking at the tread confirms this intended use.
Frankly Donald.. I think a great deal of it is the "Look factor"
It gives a "Beefy" look to an RV
You'll often find them on RVs MFGs call "off road" or I call "off pavement"
If you plan to do some light off-pavement towing, then they're a little more resilient to things like punctures from stones
Keep the questions coming my guy!
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks! That was my thought pattern also.
i do not like this split thing show the rv ibside live please
Don't like bending over for fridge. Give me full size fridge and no pantry. Also I wish bunks were 300lbs. I would think if jayco can do 300 single and 600 double everyone can. Otherwise nice camper.
For me personally that fridge doesn’t work. Neither does a full size only bed work. Would not want this camper. Only for small people with small kids that like to carry an expensive cooler too.
Fair enough! I thank you for your feedback!
Lol NOT 92 cents! 🤣🤣🤣

Disappointed they switched to Westlakes from made in the USA Goodyears. BOO!!!!! And they forgot to remove the Goodyear sticker so hopefully this is just a one-off.
Clarification: They did not switch from Goodyears to Westlakes. They use Goodyears on all other models _with the exception of this one_
To go to a goodyear tire on this model they'd have to change hubs which would change axles which would change the chassis.. kneebone to legbone
It would significantly ding the cost on this one and even the weight just for a different tire. So they made the call to keep westlakes on this one and use goodyears on everything else
Large 12volt all day long.
TY
They like the fart fans in this one.
Awfully low carrying capacity. Need to pack this one very lightly so you don't exceed the weight capacity.
It's an annoying common problem on a lot of models right now. Actually talking about that in my industry update coming soon
It looks like a modern Macdonalds, ugly inside.
Overall for what this competes with its solid.
