Don’t forget all the freaky deaky animal jam players (it boggles me how not only people draw masterpieces in the animal jam drawing program but ALSO THIS IS REALLY COMON??)
i forgot what i was watching in the first part, until around the 2 minute mark, when the wlf starts to form. i like the "ephemeral layers". the colors and patterns of an earlier layer being obscured mostly, but usually not fully, by subsequent layers. it raises questions. bluntly, why do this work that will not make it to the final product? when the artist is working on one part, how are they willing to accept they will soon have to overwrite that work with new work? the obvious visual boon is a rich and intricate texture that speckles the final result's backgroud. but this is not your typical speedpaint video. perhaps the artist is simply enjoying some light doodles, that glide effortlessly onto the canvas. perhaps they are saying something more, something about transience of life, a sort of lacksidaisical whimsy that is esoteric to all but the most joyous and beautifully spirited, this video screams and tears against nihilism, demanding we do for the sake of doing, encouraging us to create and live. i shed tears writing this wtf i gotta stop injecting all these marijuanas sorry im cringe thanks for the cathartic very cool art tho (cathart..? sounds uhh bit too much like catheter art.. hmm write that down)
i really really love this comment- i actually have a bfa in contemporary sculpture & it's pretty rare i see people respect digital art enough to analyze it like this. i'm very process oriented and have always preferred to let the work speak to me as i develop it versus meticulously planning out a piece. Work generates work; that is, the problem-solving and tinkering of creating something tends to raise new ideas, new problems, new concepts that can be tackled that wouldn't have been thought of otherwise. the accumulation is definitely the point; i love artwork that gives you a peek into its secret insides, or when the underpainting shows through the gaps. i wanted to create some level of visual noise that would mimic the noise of the original cover (i'm not totally sure how the image was created but it looks like a screenprint or a risograph to me; it has the quality of old school printmaking like that) and i wanted to have some fun doing it while also testing out the tools i knew i wanted to use (the shaky line pencil- that was what inspired this. i think the song sounds like how that tool looks) there's also an aspect of sanctity to the blank canvas that can be paralyzing. i very rarely work on just white but beyond just fill bucketing the bg a different color, doing some stupid crazy shit like this gets the blood pumping which carries through to the final piece. And of course, with kidpix, since there's no layer system, i know going in that whatever i do at the start is going to be covered up- i had been working that way for a while, and realized at some point that my kind of weird process was just as, if not more important than the final piece itself. so i started recording them :-) at the end of the day its also just a thing i did in an evening bc i thought it would be funny

this is a fantastic art piece! wlfgrl is my second favorite album by machine girl, topped only by because i’m young, arrogant, and hate everything you stand for. i love the way you added the detail using jagged lines, it looks really nice! and the teeth are super cool too, it almost looks like they’re melting :0
Wish everyone would stop comparing everything, so much talent and completely different artists. People's lives and creative works aren't your damn meme canon.
Seems like only yesterday I was messin' around in KP Deluxe 3 on my dad's Windows ME computer. That, along with an older version of Windows Kid Pix computers at my elementary school had, were among the first programs that got me interested in art. Also, this music reminds me of a DnB version of the music to the RC racing game Re-Volt. Cool. Anyways, great video!
dude no way how did you know i was JUST searching for amv like videos/speedpaints using kidpix?? and with machine girl no less, thank you for making my afternoon :D

The kidpix3 thumbnail threw me for a nostalgic spin 💀🥲
Metal as hell, love to see more
Kid Pix Art by people who aren't just goofing goes so unreasonably hard.
Yesterday I stumbled upon this while I was high and it was amazing. It's still really cool to watch while sober, though! It's a really good painting!
woah i love this. the colours are so pretty and the spraypaint tool (?) usage makes it look kind of like some sort of blurry trail cam footage
this is the coolest speedpaint ive ever seen on youtube
Thank you. I feel more schizophrenic having watched this.
this one of my favorite speedpaint videos :D it’s very fun
