I want to buy DOOM as soon as I get my next paycheck. I'm an oldschool DOOM player. My dad LOVED DOOM when I was a little kid, and he would let me watch him play (or let me play myself if I had been well-behaved). I remember sitting on his knee while he used a logitec joystick to navigate the levels. Videogames, especially older games like DOOM and original NES Zelda, are super nostalgiac bonding experiences for me. Can't wait to spend the new DOOM with my fiancee now, but I think if I'm on her lap it'll be a little hard for her to see the screen. ;)
Agreed. He doesn't scream or yell when the game has something he doesn't like, and he doesn't completely fanboy over any games. He points out their flaws, even if he loves the game
When I started playing Doom 3, I was like "the game is so boring". Which made me only finished the 5th mission of the game, and I stopped playing, and I didn't want to know anything about Doom cause I wasn't happy about the game. And when the new one comes out, I was like "it might still be boring like the previous one", but when I got to my friend's house and saw him play the game, I was so hyped and desperate to buy the game. However, in my area, there were way too many players buying the game, which delayed the date I bought the game(planning to buy on May 16, but delayed to June)Be honest, the new Doom is such an amazing reboot that I can't stop playing.
Okay, this is my FIRST DOOM game and I LOVE IT!! It's so fun and I had to put down Uncharted 4 to play through the campaign (as of now, I'm on the final chapter of campaign). It's fast, it's fun, the play style is very fluid to me, and I feel like I'll be playing it for months all through the summer! As for my favorite boss, as of now, I loved that second BIG boss fight. It was insane to beat the first half (second half felt easier to me), because of the damn shield he had up. I enjoyed all of it though (even though I rage paused for about 10 minutes at one point before beating him). I would rate it highly as you did.
Same here. It sidetracked me from Uncharted but I love both games. Then Dooms multiplayer sidetracked me from itself. Have barely touched snapmap so I still got tons of content left.
PixelProtocol The way I'm playing it, I'm playing DOOM campaign first, then trying out snapmap (haven't even done that yet), and I'll play multiplayer on occasion but not often tbh.
***** I loved the beta and the MP is just more of that but better for me and I was looking forward to the campaign more and read NOTHING about it so when you leave the base on the first level and see the first little open space I was like "Wow!". It surprised me it had as many side paths that it did. That is what I am gonna do as well, campaign, then Snapmap while I chip away at Uncharted and gonna hopefully Platinum both but we'll see haha.
PixelProtocol A friend of mine got the DOOM platinum trophy on Tuesday and I am 50% through the trophies now, I've 100% 5 levels and I'm playing through again to get the platinum by the weekend. I haven't touched Uncharted since I got DOOM but after I get that platinum I'll go back and finish up Nathan Drake's last story!
Just now about to get the platinum myself. Really was not as bad as I thought. Like you, I had already attained most of the items and trophies on the first playthrough. Just did the UAC on Ultra Nightmare and now my last trophy is just to publish a map! You can get it for sure man. Also same for me haha Uncharted 4 for me starting tomorrow to finish that one up. Hoping I can platinum that too. How did you like the game once you beat it?
+Cody White It is just quite different from DOOM/Quake that players have been wanting. They added a lot of modern touches, and in doing that it lost it's identity. It just doesn't feel like DOOM. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean it sucks. But when you put a name like DOOM on something, it is reasonable to expect it to be a certain way.
This game is a fucking MASTERPIECE! I run constant 60 FPS with everything maxed with the new TSAA set to 8X and it is breathtakingly beautiful. The gameplay is NON FUCKING STOP! I Played this game today for 8 straight ours and loved every goddamn minute! Its bloody, its fast, the mechanics are fuckin GREAT! The weapons are THE TITS! And!!! For me, as an old school gamer who cut my teeth on the original DOOM, it feels like old times. I also LOVE! That you can modify the weapons, and in order to do so you have to take advantage of yet another old school feature in this game, SECRET AREAS!!! THERE ARE TONS! OF SECRET AREAS! This makes me happy! You can find all kinds of goodies in these secret cubbies now! Not just ammo and power ups, you find points to power up your suit and guns, which adds a really cool element to the game and breaks up the monotony of the FPS gameplay. I am thrilled that it did so good, because I was so let down by DOOM 3 and this just ... well... BLEW MY MOTHERFUCKING FACE OFF AND GROUND MY SKULL INTO DUST AND SNORTED IT! In other words, its DOOM on a immaculate graphics engine with some of the best gameplay I've EVER experienced. I am also a big fan of RAGE and the new Wolfenstein games, and id and Bethesda keep knocking it out of the park ... I am so glad this game was EVERYTHING all these critics thought it wouldn't be! IN YOUR FACE HATERS! This game has shaken the foundations of modern First person shooters and I cannot wait to beat it and go back and 100% it and try out some of the Nightmare modes. I am so nerd bonering over this game, I've waited for MONTHS more eagerly than ANY child awaits christmas for this game, and it delivered .... DOOM 2016 is a Masterpiece, its an instant new classic for me.
There's a secret inside a hollow crate where you get a doom guy doll. He walked right over it. If he'd slowed down right after pulling himself up onto that box, he would have fallen in and discovered it. If you pause right at 3:38, you can see the crate has no top.
+Riflemanm16a2 I knew that was a special something there atleast some ammo or I don't know without even knowing that :D, I can't belive he passed it was like "noooo back back back"
The glory kills are what is so genius about this game. It encourages you to be aggressive so you can get ammo and health. If you're dying you have to charge and glory kill to live.
As a long time player of the Doom series this game doesn't really surprise me other than graphical improvement. Great job id, you brought the classic 90s shooter gameplay into the 21st century
DOOM 3 sucks. The devs back then maybe tried to turn DOOM into a horror FPS game witch sucks. Cause DOOM is an ACTION game. Not a craping horror game. DOOM 3 is the result of when devs try to change a game completely which sucks.
@@Ruhaez The problem I had with Doom 3 was that they tried to not only change the style but also add a story, and they did a halfass job in both fields. At least if the gameplay was good, I could look past it not feeling like a traditional Doom title. Instead, it's one of the most boring games I've ever seen or played.
I love Gameranx because you can tell that they are gamers through and through! Their reviews and videos feel personal and are really a joy to see. Thanks Jake. Never change! :D
+Garry Thomas sorry, but I am a one of the many people who played all of the other doom games and was very hyped, (since the beginning) for this game! Ofcourse I was going to preorder it. Why wouldn't I?!
+ralugosi Exactly. I grew up on Doom and don't want to have to do loads of stratergy or working out puzzels. Doom is a badass shooter. Period. And that's why I like it!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a ton of fun in campaign mode. It's like a super fast paced update on a classic game. I'm constantly running around like a chicken with its head cut off. It's almost as if this is what they would have like to do 20 years ago, but the technology of the time was a bit too limited. A badass marine running around gunning down hordes of enemies. They did it back then, but this is a bit more frenetic and it's awesome.
+jkincaid582 Actually the first Doom game wasn't 3D. The first Doom game was a top down shooter that tricked you into think it had multiple levels by the way the game rendered the map hence why when you shoot at enemies above or below you still hit them. The first Doom game was a technological breakthrough though due to how ID Software devs created the maps. This technique would be copied by all other developers for almost a decade. The first true 3D game that was created was Quake. Then the Unreal Engine was created shortly afterwards and most 3D games then used the Unreal Engine for another decade and some devs still use it today.
+residentzombie bruh i know you watched digressing and sidequesting and wanna sound smart but you just look like a raving idiot, especially since he didnt even mention 3D
+residentzombie lol nice try sounding smart by repeating word by word something you heard off a video on a comment that had nothing to do with what you're even talking about. 10/10
Doom is becoming one of my all time favourites. I grew up playing the originals (and loved Doom 3, personally), and what I think I love the most here is the homage it pays to the originals, while still keeping it fresh and exciting. It looks stunning, sounds stunning (loving the soundtrack too) and plays like a gem. Also, great review man!
This is one of those games where being fun is the #1 priority. Too many games these days are trying to be more realistic, more immersive, add new features, most of which are just a distraction or complicate controls. I don't know why it's so hard to keep things simple.
I've been a DooM player since the original was making the rounds as a shareware program. I've loved all the DooM games up to this point (except maybe 3, but it's still pretty alright for what it is), and I have to say that this iteration of DooM is absolutely glorious. It's everything a DooM game should be. It's fast, bloody, and a good time all around. An excellent entry for a classic series. Jake's review is spot-on; he perfectly describes what you can expect. You won't be disappointed.
+gameranx Before You Buy is my favourite series out of all series done by any channel on RUclips. I even look forward to the Before You Buys on games I know I'll never buy. So well fucking done, and thank you!
The upgrades are everything... I used to think this game was impossible early on, even on ultra-violence difficulty mode, but the weapons' uprgrades, the BFG and the "argent ball" upgrades are game changers... These definitely allow the player to keep up with the increasing difficulty of the levels
The multiplayer is okay, i dont enjoy is as much as i want to though, the thousands of hours i spent playing Quake wants me to strafejump and its not possible in DOOM so its not that fun when you're used to do that in arena shooters.
+Justin DeLeon Beta multiplayer wasn't great. But it's pretty good now, everyone's faster, super shotgun isn't the only viable weapon anymore (though chaingun is a little too strong for my liking right now) and all the gamemodes and maps make it pretty enjoyable.
For me this game is almost perfect, one of the best games I have ever played. I just hope they give us some more single player campaign content in the DLC, as well as the multiplayer stuff they have planned.
DOOM is simply... AWESOME! I just finished the campaign on "Im too young to die" and i started it again on "Hurt me plenty" for a bigger challenge, the glory kills are pure gore, the weapons are awesome like the gaus cannon with the precision shot mod on it or the rocket launcher with the homing mod (or however its called), sometimes having to fight 3 barons of hell at a time is annoying asf if you dont have BFG ammo. The multiplayer is not bad either, i just hate when there is a mancubus in the enemy team... I have not tried snapmap yet... Overall its an epic game, one of my favorites...
I was expecting quite a lot from the single player, with it being so good on Wolfenstein. But this completely blew it out of the water. In my opinion, this is ids best game since the first DOOM, and I adored Doom 3 and Rage. But they each had their problems. So far, I have had no issues with the single player experience whatsoever. Its actually a challenge, and mechanically, this game is so unique. It rewards the player so much for the run and gun style gameplay, and punishes them for taking a moment to aim at a demon. It has reasonably in depth strategy to it. When to use your chainsaw, when to glory kill, when to jump, which gun to use, where to go, where the pickups are. Its not just that these things exist in the game, its that they're important. So far, it seems like the game of the year, and the game DOOM fans have wanted for over two decades.
I really like the game. The first 10 minutes, I already figured I was in for a great ride. Only issue though is I wish this game had a horde-esque mode. I feel like you and 3 other players against the legions of hell would have been so awesome. Sure, you can create it in Snapmap, but I feel like it just wouldnt feel the same.
As a person that was playing just story based games for 2 years; DOOM IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. It’s so fluid rewarding and interesting. Finding secrets and codex entries feels amazing and don’t even get me started on those glory kills. In my opinion it’s also a beginner friendly game. It may seem fast paced in the beginning but you learn so much so quickly. 11/10.
The single player in this is really fun, the first couple of levels are super easy, then it just goes from a 2 - 10 difficulty, The multiplayer sucks tho. The multiplayer would be alot better if they removed the demons and removed classes, and just put weapon pickups in the maps, this way not everyone will use the same two guns every game, plus you will have to learn when the best guns are. 8.5/10
***** I wouldn't call it a "Doom twist" I be honest, "even tho i probably get loads of fanboys hating on me" the multiplayer is bad.. really bad, The single player is perfect for me, But the multiplayer feels like a 14 year old made it, everything right they did with the single player, they did wrong with the multiplayer. I feel like this multiplayer was just made to get more sales, which is fine. I won't be playing it again, just playing single player. Snapmap might be cool, not really played it tho.
Aim enjoying the hell out of it.. Single player maps are insane complex if your trying to get all the secrets like me. Got the guide for the game, I can't tell you the last time I did that. Multiplayer is fun and will keep this around when the single player is threw. All in all, it will keep me occupied till bf1.
This game is awesome and something I have never really experienced before. It's pacing is relentless and the combat is intense and the shooting all feels really fast paced and good. I would definitely recommend it.
Dude your vids are legit. Always answering every question I think about. I look up your channel whenever I'm having second thoughts on a purchase. You've saved me money as well. Keep that shit up.
Im so glad this game is simple “kill, move on, repeat”. Im not interested in complicated, overly thought out missions. I gave up on FPS games for that type of guff. I prefer simplicity. Also, I can’t wait to play this on Switch in just a few days!
Actually Doom is more complicated than other fps games today as it is not linear, hundreds of ways to reach a point, takes good navigation skills and then again, kill, move on, repeat.
I finished it a few months ago and I really miss that feeling of first being thrown into the game's world, on my own, genociding demons. Such a wonderful feeling.
+dracodarkcross123 My problem with nightmare is that the only difference in difficulty is that the enemies do more damage. No different enemy placement, no decreased healthpack drop rate.
For me, the best game on the current generation of consoles. A perfect combination of nostalgic, fast gameplay with new mechanics to make it relevant. Also performs flawlessly on consoles, let alone on PC. This is the standard to which games should be made. Even the multiplayer, which isn't great, had enough to keep me interested. Overwatch is a close 2nd, but it'll take a lot to top this game.
Snapmap is so much more as mentiont in this video.... you can make mpmaps and speed it up like in unreal turnament... you can remove the loadout feature too and place weapons! I love this game
+Raptorialand Spot on! I think this is really where the strength of DOOM 2016 lies within!! everything that hardcore fans pointed out to be missing is in there so just sit back and enjoy the gore fest!!
I was really stubborn on the side that doom would be awesome with a bunch of features that everyone was complaining to be missing. however i am dissapointed. One i am dissapointed that the multiplayer doesnt include custom playlist option and that the features core fans want in multi can only be access or created in snapmap. but even then i have faith in the modders in the community but there is just one problem. unless i am missing something all snapmaps can only support 4 players. That is a major let down.
geminacer This game is a communitygame - if people would stop bitching about the multiplayer, but start bitching about ^^exactly this things - then the would possible change it!
+DelasVC This game cant afford to wait very long for "fixes" that will give the fans of the franchise that which they have been defending ever since the open beta. This needs fixed yestersay.
13 to 14 hours of campaign is considered lengthy? Back in 2004, these were a deal breaker for many gamers for not putting enough content. How times has change
+gungrave10 Unfortunately shitty CoD and Halo clones have made the average SP Campaign 5-7 hours maximum, and that's if you *really* take your time. Gotta load up that shitty Multiplayer experience which you'll just make obsolete and replace in 9 months with another worn out installment!
I've played through doom, and I loved it. The combat flowed so well, and the fact they didn't put so much emphasis on the story over sheer gameplay was great. It really made me feel like I was marching through hell as the most badass soldier there was.
+BootyJenkins Same here. Just strafed around the guardians and used my gaus cannon when there was a break in their shields. That thing does massive damage at full charge.
2:10 Ey? This runs brilliant on pretty much everything other than £200 laptops. This isn't a system killer, this is a very well optimised and good looking game that isn't going to push hardware from the past three years very hard at all. Runs at 112FPS on a bloody £199 GPU on Ultra. Even 1440p is consistently above 60.
I'm loving doom it's a great shooter solid multiplayer Imo and the single player is just as good its been so long since we have had just a simple and fun crazy ass shooter I'm addicted to it i love the quake and unreal tournament type arena style combat in mp it's definitely up there to be my favourite game this year
Absolutely brilliant, hurt me plenty sees me dying a lot as I’ve just started and I’m not used to the controls but I just can’t whimp out and lower the difficulty. The graphics and art style is just amazing. I’d give it 9 out of 10....
A year later it launches for Nintendo Switch and fans are still punching and slashing through demons! At the park, at the airplane, even at your toilet! Have it and enjoyed it fully!
If you like fast paced shooters with great graphics that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this is for you! For those saying that it is a copy of Halo or Call of Duty, that couldn't be more wrong. The original Doom game came out in 1993. Call of Duty didn't even release until 2003. Doom is the first shooter I ever played growing up and I have been gaming since the early 90's. If anything, everyone else has been imitating them. The creators of Doom simply made sure to implement all the features of popular multiplayer games so that players could jump right into the game. Doom is game of go, go, go. They want you to get right into the action and start killing demons. I prefer this over a lengthy story because when it comes down to it, this is a video game and not a movie. The story is in the background and is there if you are interested but the game doesn't force you to get too involved. This is the best shooting game I have ever played. Buy it now!!!
+Unsuperior You gotta understand that we need games like this to come back. The more classic games that come back in it's true classic style will open the door for not only more classic shooters but other devs waking up and wanting to make something like it. I miss the golden age of shooters. We're lucky they put in a MP at all. Any DOOM fan doesn't pick up DOOM for the MP. That's why nobody can say anything about the MP except it what it's not. Example: "its NOT like unreal, it's NOT like quake. Cause it's Doom... Anyway, I can't wait for more.
+Doomreb yea I understand that but quake refined the multiplayer genre. and they would most likely put the same devs onto the multiplayer which wouldnt be the best idea. I want classic shooters to come back just as much as the next guy but theyre going to have to get a better mp team if they want quake to be good.
Well, it might not be as bad as you think. While Doom's singe player and snap map was made in house by ID themselves, the multiplayer was outsourced to Certain Affinity. Certain Affinity has made maps for CoD multiplayer and Halo, and also helped make the Halo master cheif collection multiplayer so in my opinion I don't really think they were the right choice to make Doom's multiplayer. If ID decided to make another Quake, as long as THEY make the multiplayer, I'm sure it would be fine
the game is so damn good, i'm old school, played the original on DOS... yea I'm an old fart. This game really makes me feel like i'm playing DOOM again. MUSIC IS AMAZING TOO!!!
I share your love of this game. It is fast, there's tons of stuff to do, the boss battles are sufficiently difficult..absolutely love it. Bloody and creepy and dark just like Doom is supposed to be. I've been playing DOOM since the first one in 1993. This is my first time playing it on a console (Ps4) and I liked it just as much as I did when I played it PC. I am also 50/50 on multiplayer. It's fun, it's challenging....but it also feels clunky? I'm not sure how to explain it but the Campaign game play more than makes up for what Multiplayer is lacking.
A review from a younger, non-bias generation 1. The multiplayer is pretty generic and the game just isn't meant for it. 2. I usually get pretty pissed at a game for now having a good story, but this is an exception. All you need is some context, but not too much, and then kill everyone. 3. The original DOOM was ok. Brutal DOOM was awesome. This DOOM will blow your face onto the back wall. 4. Rightfully so, the setting is just like the original. Demons are coming out of hell, you need to kill all of them in the most bad ass way possible without giving a single fuck. 5. Doom Guy. Enough said.
hey, I'm not hating on the first DOOM, I just liked the Brutal mod better. That's why I included "non-bias" at the top, because I didn't grow up with it, so I don't think it's one of the best games ever. I don't care what year it came from, it's simply too limited for my liking. Brutal DOOM, however, makes up for it by being just as sadistic and all around as good as the newest one, and maybe even better. The first vanilla DOOM wasn't bad though, and I'd still play it again.

+jrag1000 PC. I can run Fallout 4 on max settings so I bet I could run this game.
+Sean Findley Just barely old enough to remember original Doom. :) And thanks for the vote of confidence, glad it's worth it!
You could try to run it. Doom is all about speed. You might need a PC from the matrix to do it justice. I'm fine on Xbox one.
Jake is my favorite reviewer ever, always keeping it real.
+ForgetAndRegret thanks dude
+ForgetAndRegret I also always go for gameranx reveiw.. they feel honest and fresh, and Jake is really helping that along (Y)
Agreed. He doesn't scream or yell when the game has something he doesn't like, and he doesn't completely fanboy over any games. He points out their flaws, even if he loves the game
+gameranx Stop playing with a controller.
+gameranx I love the new doom I don't have it but whant it
When I started playing Doom 3, I was like "the game is so boring".
Killer, Monster, Terrorist Doom 3 tried to be a space opera like Dead Space but sorta fell flat..
This game cures cancer.
If only one could eradicate cancer cells like this!
This game glory kills the cancer out of you.
This game rips and tears through cancer
this game dooms cancer.
PixelProtocol
The way I'm playing it, I'm playing DOOM campaign first, then trying out snapmap (haven't even done that yet), and I'll play multiplayer on occasion but not often tbh.
PixelProtocol
A friend of mine got the DOOM platinum trophy on Tuesday and I am 50% through the trophies now, I've 100% 5 levels and I'm playing through again to get the platinum by the weekend.
Great game and idk why people are complaining about the multiplayer, its better than CODs multiplayer
Then again, everything is better than that.
+Mr. Atomic Annahilation Lol its so true 😂
+Cody White But Unreal tournament is much better and free.
+Cody White Because it's not an arena styled game play and the weapons are also very unbalanced
+Cody White It is just quite different from DOOM/Quake that players have been wanting. They added a lot of modern touches, and in doing that it lost it's identity. It just doesn't feel like DOOM. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean it sucks. But when you put a name like DOOM on something, it is reasonable to expect it to be a certain way.
i'm refunding homefront for this.
Tasteticles you know it boy o ;)))
Yeah, I'd refund home front for this.
exactly what I did..I should of went with this from the start holy shit I am lovvinnn it
Good choice
Gamin' Dankness you should've refunded it either way lmao
I want some of that shit you're high on!!
+Divyansh Mishra LOL
Nice to hear bud.
GOTY 2016 confirmed
+Flying robot Pizza Dark Souls 3 was super as well
3:38 YOU WENT RIGHT OVER DA SECRET!
what secret
There's a secret inside a hollow crate where you get a doom guy doll. He walked right over it. If he'd slowed down right after pulling himself up onto that box, he would have fallen in and discovered it. If you pause right at 3:38, you can see the crate has no top.
+Riflemanm16a2 I knew that was a special something there atleast some ammo or I don't know without even knowing that :D, I can't belive he passed it was like "noooo back back back"
probably wanted to keep the secret secret for everyone who hasn't played the game yet. or maybe they just didnt know.
Riflemanm16a2 yyyq
Yeah Doom will suit them fine 4:30
+Alejandro Lopez little big hellscape
lol
The glory kills are what is so genius about this game. It encourages you to be aggressive so you can get ammo and health. If you're dying you have to charge and glory kill to live.
Best review of the game so far.
+Sanna go watch Angry Centaur Gaming
l3lackfire Seen it already, but I don't compare the two. For a fast review, this was one is the best. ACG is on his own level.
As a long time player of the Doom series this game doesn't really surprise me other than graphical improvement. Great job id, you brought the classic 90s shooter gameplay into the 21st century
LemonPie I think the 21st century needs more 90s shooters.
my hardest boss in Doom was the minimal requirements...
the min requirements are pretty low for a AAA game
Doom 3 had darker environments and scarier monster models.
This Doom tops out on every other category though, especially gameplay.
SecretAgentMan00 I like to think of doom 4 as a horror game where you play as the monster.
1:49 - KAMEHAMEHA!!!!
Damn
lol Ki Blast
Lol dat imp sure practice from goku before he became a demon.
I

To watch your review of my game. I like it. It's not criticizing my story, thank you for that.
Doomguy fuc ur game
Tell that to the masses. And down the barrel of my super shotgun.
Doomguy wow you think you are special beacose you can change your name in gmail?

I bought it for the singleplayer,
and loved it for the singleplayer.
Before I buy?! I preordered it!!
+lavaicle Haha :D
Stupid sheep
+Garry Thomas just like you?
+Garry Thomas stupid kid
+Garry Thomas sorry, but I am a one of the many people who played all of the other doom games and was very hyped, (since the beginning) for this game! Ofcourse I was going to preorder it. Why wouldn't I?!
This is the best way to review games. Don't give us that half an hour, in detain stuff. Give us short, snappy impressions. Keep it up gameranx!
0:04 nice editing guys.
Ign was pretty drunk to give this game a 7.1 smh😑😑
Yeah
Cant spell ignorant without ign
great game. this is what a videogame is.
100% agree
Lol
:D
That's what old school shooter is.
But then we have half-life...
A scientist running around beating shit with crowbar.
Got this for my birthday from my fiance. Cried from childhood nostalgia. Doom is mah game!
Anybody else sick of this season pass bs??
sick of it? don't fuckin but it.
That was clearly a typo and not worth trying to grammar nazi.
+Ricky Em it's 😊
+Jonathan Sullivan Nice one 😂😂😂
For Doom it doesn't bother me because the only other season pass Bethesda has offered was in Fallout 4.
This is one of those games where being fun is the #1 priority. Too many games these days are trying to be more realistic, more immersive, add new features, most of which are just a distraction or complicate controls. I don't know why it's so hard to keep things simple.
Note to whoever is watching the video, and they not sure if to buy or not:
YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED. BEST GAME EVER.
You won't be disappointed.
dude i love this youtube channel so much
Great video. Can you please do one on Overwatch?
+ActingDude yup
+gameranx I played the beta I am for sure getting it along with like 8 of my friends it will be sick
+gameranx Before You Buy is my favourite series out of all series done by any channel on RUclips. I even look forward to the Before You Buys on games I know I'll never buy. So well fucking done, and thank you!
+gameranx sweet
+Shade Draws Nice kek
Still can't get over the fact that people look up overwatch porn. like wtf
+Mr.Rickoton lolol
+gameranx Wow! I didn't think you guys would reply!
Even if you just go to google pictures and search Widowmaker, there will be nude pictures. WHAT THE FAAAACK?
+Mr.Rickoton not as bad as when minecraft was one of the most looked up things on pornhub, tho
+Mr.Rickoton you give people cute or good looking characters they're gonna make them fuck. there's no stopping them.
The upgrades are everything... I used to think this game was impossible early on, even on ultra-violence difficulty mode, but the weapons' uprgrades, the BFG and the "argent ball" upgrades are game changers... These definitely allow the player to keep up with the increasing difficulty of the levels
The multiplayer is okay, i dont enjoy is as much as i want to though, the thousands of hours i spent playing Quake wants me to strafejump and its not possible in DOOM so its not that fun when you're used to do that in arena shooters.
loving the single player, and haven't played the multiplayer since the beta
Actually fun once you get use to it. I like the feeling of the older style games and fps
+Justin DeLeon Beta multiplayer wasn't great. But it's pretty good now, everyone's faster, super shotgun isn't the only viable weapon anymore (though chaingun is a little too strong for my liking right now) and all the gamemodes and maps make it pretty enjoyable.
+Adrian Castaneda it's a good arena shooter and it's weird at first but you get used to it
+Alex Chung Thanks for posting this,I was on the border of buying it now..so do you think it's worth it?
+Tyler Begin It is worth it, the only thing is that on Xbone for me no one is playing multiplayer.
I'm cheap, so I'll wait for a Steam sale. Still waiting for that sale on GTA V, greedy bastards.
+Venting Show G2A is your friend then
summer sale ftw. also it was on sale 2-3 months ago
+Venting Show $32.80 gta5 steam from ebay only for pc
+Venting Show i think is call being broke and i know that vote name
same
I really like the game.
They just dont want to copy halo with that idea too much or it will end badly.
+TestedModz I love the multiplayer exactly how it is.
Dude same here
This game is awesome and something I have never really experienced before.
I always watch before you buy after i bought a game lol
Who doesn't lol
Its more of a "before you play" type game
I actual liked the multiplayer.....
actually*
Long live Radovid !
+I bark rainbowz what?
Love it too
Acrylyi*
I finished it a few months ago and I really miss that feeling of first being thrown into the game's world, on my own, genociding demons. Such a wonderful feeling.
just bought it on my lunch break...cant wait to play this...looks sick
Yes there is still hope for other games this year
Nice profile pic
indeed comrade
благодаря
+Sam Howden Cool dog
+Eduardo Gomez Aww, Google Translate keeps fucking up simple "Thank you", seen it before. It's "Благодарю" or "Спасибо".
Game is on sale in steam for 4 bucks. Definitely worth the price at that deal
A little over a year since this video enticed me to buy DOOM. Now I finally beat it on Ultra-nightmare. My money was well spent. Thanks gameranx. ;)
I'm SO goddamn excited for Shadow Warrior 2!!!!
+JacPod looks really cool
gameranx :O
You replied :O
I am about to buy it and I think it's going to be awesome!! I'm going to start a let's play series too
"it's difficult..." Yeah.. For a NUB
Hey I'm playing on nightmare first play through, yeah it's difficult even for a doom vet.
So am I.
+dracodarkcross123 My problem with nightmare is that the only difference in difficulty is that the enemies do more damage. No different enemy placement, no decreased healthpack drop rate.
+Epic Gamer you can play nightmare. you can't play ultra nightmare first time round.
+Tom Cooper For Polygon - it's near impossible - apparently
Definitely awesome. Being able to unlock classic DOOM stages is so cool for longtime fans.
That is a major let down.
geminacer This game is a communitygame - if people would stop bitching about the multiplayer, but start bitching about ^^exactly this things - then the would possible change it!
geminacer
true, but i assume this is something they will probably fix in the future
+DelasVC This game cant afford to wait very long for "fixes" that will give the fans of the franchise that which they have been defending ever since the open beta. This needs fixed yestersay.
13 to 14 hours of campaign is considered lengthy? Back in 2004, these were a deal breaker for many gamers for not putting enough content. How times has change
+gungrave10 Unfortunately shitty CoD and Halo clones have made the average SP Campaign 5-7 hours maximum, and that's if you *really* take your time. Gotta load up that shitty Multiplayer experience which you'll just make obsolete and replace in 9 months with another worn out installment!
campaign should be 20 hrs. 10 hrs is a joke.
Frank Castle Damn straight. To be fair though, you can beat Doom 1 and 2 back-to-back in under 5 hours. As far as Doom games go, DooM is the longest.
I've played through doom, and I loved it. The combat flowed so well, and the fact they didn't put so much emphasis on the story over sheer gameplay was great. It really made me feel like I was marching through hell as the most badass soldier there was.
game was awesome. hardest boss was hell guards
I got them on my first try, but got my ass kicked by the cyberdemon.
+BootyJenkins same, didn't die at all on final boss either
+BootyJenkins o wont lie the final boss almost killed me because i wasnt paying attention and the shock almost killed me
+BootyJenkins Same here. Just strafed around the guardians and used my gaus cannon when there was a break in their shields. That thing does massive damage at full charge.
+Kirk Slaydon Same here. Nevertheless, the campain was great!
2:10
Ey? This runs brilliant on pretty much everything other than £200 laptops. This isn't a system killer, this is a very well optimised and good looking game that isn't going to push hardware from the past three years very hard at all.
Runs at 112FPS on a bloody £199 GPU on Ultra. Even 1440p is consistently above 60.
The Uncanny One Ya, and on the GOD DAMN NINTENDO SWITCH!
I have a $900 PC that barely runs the game on 30fps
I'm loving doom it's a great shooter solid multiplayer Imo and the single player is just as good its been so long since we have had just a simple and fun crazy ass shooter I'm addicted to it i love the quake and unreal tournament type arena style combat in mp it's definitely up there to be my favourite game this year
Absolutely brilliant, hurt me plenty sees me dying a lot as I’ve just started and I’m not used to the controls but I just can’t whimp out and lower the difficulty. The graphics and art style is just amazing. I’d give it 9 out of 10....
one time the game gliched out and 2 hell knits where f****** each other 😂😂
I bought the game... Had SO MUCH FUN for 8 hours.
Than I got a bug and I can't start it anymore. I hope it's fixed soon ;-;
Just try to reinstall, or find fixes on the internet
A year later it launches for Nintendo Switch and fans are still punching and slashing through demons! At the park, at the airplane, even at your toilet! Have it and enjoyed it fully!
You can take a dump while killing a titan
I kinda hope they don't reboot quake now cause I'm scared they might fuck up the mp
+Unsuperior some things shouldn't be touched
I want classic shooters to come back just as much as the next guy but theyre going to have to get a better mp team if they want quake to be good.
also wow gameranx replied
Well, it might not be as bad as you think. While Doom's singe player and snap map was made in house by ID themselves, the multiplayer was outsourced to Certain Affinity. Certain Affinity has made maps for CoD multiplayer and Halo, and also helped make the Halo master cheif collection multiplayer so in my opinion I don't really think they were the right choice to make Doom's multiplayer. If ID decided to make another Quake, as long as THEY make the multiplayer, I'm sure it would be fine
noooes. you missed the doomguy figure in the crate on the assembly line :O
the game is so damn good, i'm old school, played the original on DOS... yea I'm an old fart. This game really makes me feel like i'm playing DOOM again. MUSIC IS AMAZING TOO!!!
6:04 "The joy of video games". Yes. Very much yes.
love how DOOM multiplayer is better than battlefronts
oooooohhhhhh shots fired!!!
+Crono-logical aka P.I.T Not really, it's a fact.
+rockkiller124 very true

On Steam Doom has a demo you can play!
Team Gaming So does Xbox One... What else is new?
I share your love of this game. It is fast, there's tons of stuff to do, the boss battles are sufficiently difficult..absolutely love it. Bloody and creepy and dark just like Doom is supposed to be. I've been playing DOOM since the first one in 1993. This is my first time playing it on a console (Ps4) and I liked it just as much as I did when I played it PC. I am also 50/50 on multiplayer. It's fun, it's challenging....but it also feels clunky? I'm not sure how to explain it but the Campaign game play more than makes up for what Multiplayer is lacking.
you could say that battlefield is going to be the "DooM" of cod this year.
+flyingfish60 YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
+flyingfish60 ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy lmao
(MLG air horn noise) GTFO COD IW here comes DOOM BITCHES
lmao ummm no Cod is complete garbage now unlike Doom
Like every year people keep saying that. COD sells like hot cakes every year. I"m not a COD fan but please stop this dumb bullshit.
A review from a younger, non-bias generation
+Nathan Jenkins "The original Doom was okay." Yeah, okay...
hey, I'm not hating on the first DOOM, I just liked the Brutal mod better. The first vanilla DOOM wasn't bad though, and I'd still play it again.
if i ever get bored of the singleplayer, i'll probably just go into multiplayer a ton.
