- Car on tracks live eyewitness video Ashland,VA a train spotters dream, a visitors warm welcoming experience in this history filled town. Experiences that are varied and are good for the soul.
Hello, I used to live in Ashland & was a member of the F.D. & Rescue Squad. A long time ago. The Henry Clay Inn caught on fire. 6:14 we never used to have cars get stuck on the tracks before. I come back to visit from time to time, but so much has changed, & my home isn't my home anymore. Since I left & joined THE NAVY! & came back a lot has changed. We had a car get stuck on the tracks in Doswell, Va. & the cross guards were coming down, but that was from the frame of the car shorting out the circuit on the tracks. We used to have people (mostly college students) get hit by the train. Cross Bros. Grocery had some of the best chicken. I picked the train from Ashland Station one day & went to D.C. to see my sister. I took the train from Boston to Orlando one time to see my parents. Both times was fun. Thanks for taking me back home one more time.
I see that guy riding his bike all the time when I'm on the bus to school
His son was transgender and got murdered by a group of people for it and thats why he dresses like that amd rides around. To raise awareness.
I see him everytime I head to the skate park.
Loved Thanks 🤗
Thanks!!! Hope ya explore channel...some fun adventures...Safe travels
Very cool video. I recently learned of Ashland, VA and it seems like such a beautiful, quiet little Southern train town. I hope to visit soon. Thank you for sharing.
It is a must Visit..The Ironhorse to meet Alex too
Hello, I'm from Sao Paulo - Brazil, I really enjoy contemplating for a few minutes, this region of Ashland, through the cameras of Railfan, I feel a nice feeling for this nice city, such as the city where I was born in the interior of Sao Paulo, Brazil . I really admire the cyclist, who daily does his walk and also in winter with the children riding snowman next to the train line.
Thank you very much for this opportunity, I hope the cameras will never be removed.
Great job Johnnie, complete report, not just chamber of commerce stuff.
Very good vídeo ! Thanks .
appreciate the compliment!!!
Great video! I came across Ashland watching that cam last night! I'm in the uk and it looks like a lovely place! I searched for Ashland after watching the cam and came across your video so thanks for it👍👍
Very cool...check out Silver Meteor and Star journeys thru Ashland had cam in sleeper car on...Safe

Thanks for sharing. Such an informative and awesome video.Especially for me, as I can only hang out at Ashland via the VR webcam.
Thanks Kessi tried to take you past the webcam... people were awesome
awesome video keep up the good work
Thanks...workin' on it..
Awesome video I talk to ken he’s a awesome guy I’ve been to Ashland many times it’s a cool place
Been there nice little town
Ken!
I see the sign on the Ashland Station when I take AutoTrain North once a year and have taken pics of the town going thru because it's so totally "Virginia" with the brick buildings and so forth. Ya' know from the train-view; Virginia is loaded with brick buildings, to include brick homes and even some churches out in the rural areas. .. So I just discovered the live cam yesterday and then this great video which is full of interesting stuff! Like seeing an Amtrak train come to a hard stop to avoid smashing a stuck car.
Stayed at the Henry Clay on channel roadtrip last year...great place, check out silver meteor vids with the wifi web cam experiment passing town on the rails...safe travels
Really nice video
Thanks the Ashland eXperience was awesome
The Inn is built on the property was owned by the RF&P which had the Station Agent living there.
Hello, Mr Jersey! Greetings from Brazil. Thank you for showing new angles of this wonderful Ashland. One day, God willing I'll get a tourist visa and I'll be able to visit this city. Almost every day I see the cameras in the station. A hug! Sorry for my english, I'm using the translator, unfortunately I have not yet learned the language.
Hope it all works out...!!!
Gotta see Ken ride that bike!!! . . . .
i see the guy on the bike when i watch VR Ashland live stream ...
A Gentleman
Ashland is a wonderful town in Hanover County. I have moved here from Bowling Green, Caroline County.
Hope you tried the meatloaf or crab cakes at the "Ironhorse"...5 star cookin'
Yes! I live in Ashland too, very beautiful.
I see this guy all the time when I go to Walmart
Creative guy
For a while i thought it was Negan !!
Nice view of Ashland’s Amtrak there in the beginning! I found Ashland first on Virtual Railfan on Thanksgiving Day 2018, but have added that and several other VR feeds to my favorite list since. Very nice people on Ashland live stream. Eventually I’d like to visit all of their US cam locations, and watch the trains. Thanks for the feature of a bit of the town for other people interested in Ashland, like me!
PS: I don’t know if you know this, but I’d stay away from the term ‘foamer.’ It’s pretty derogatory for people who love to watch trains. We use the term, “Railfan” instead.
*On a final note:* Rails to trails in my part of NJ is a tragedy. I miss the sound of the train horns off in the distance, and our RR crossing that used to be in town. Plus the walking paths are unkempt, dangerous to travel, and completely unused in my neighborhood.
New Jersey needs more rail for both passenger and freight to help reduce the amount of vehicular travel, as our insurance rates are astronomically high compared to other states. Plus, we are an overcrowded state in general. Specifically S. Jersey, since N. Jersey has a nice array of passenger and intermodal freight trains that interconnect. All my part of NJ has ‘somewhat’ locally is the Atco line (which won’t be restored to service until May) and the Trenton Station’s NY Penn line, which is over 50 miles from where I live.
Thanks for the compliment... people there were the hidden treasure...hope the vid helped in your planning'
lol i met that guy on the bike travelling thru
Ken is a true creative spirit and Ashland Treasure...safe
I watched that car hit the track that awesome that I got to see a better video of it glad nobody was hurt
Hello , i'm in Valenciennes , North of France , i often look the webcam of Train Station and i'm ' fan of Ken ' !!! Do you know if Ken have au facebook or other adress ?
Don't think so...a private creative person
Ken sure is friendly...he hit on me while he was with what I assumed was his girlfriend years ago in the Ashland Walmart. Good video though, I grew up in Ashland and miss it very much. Skateland forever!!!!
Ashland Treasure , heard he was happily married, ya missed out..!.Great people in a little historic town
Christopher Kirby hit on you? So he IS gay.
Possibly bisexual. Like I said, he had a lady with him and they seemed like a couple so I can’t really say.
Virtual Railfan
How did you make this place look interesting. I live here and nothing happens
It is a nice town Did you go too the toy store? I posted a vid as well despite te fact it was raining at the time
Wanted to hit the toy store.... nearing end of 13 city roadtrip.... self control kept me out...and brewery won out
That train you claim to be Silver Star after talking to Kent is incorrect. 91 doesn’t stop at the station, plus silver star has sleepers and a baggage car.
thanks... a mistake but ya get the point of travel to
Jersey Johnnie well it’s important because you make it appear as if Ashland is a long distance station for those trains. May confuse Amtrak passengers who may not know that. I know I’m being a stickler and I think you have a great video! But just for future, long distance do not stop in Ashland, only northeast regionals.
@@Southeast_Trains think Amtrak's tickets would solve any confusion...lol
I live in this county
Ken is a sick man. I've known him all my life just be careful about him.
How
