Dylan Magaster maybe in an auction of vehicles from the army? I don't know really, I ve been looking one for me but it s kind of hard, you can find modified models but that kind of mess the center of gravity of the van. I live in europe so importing a van from japan does not seems afordable to me, maybe it's a good option in the us.
I guess it depends on where you live! And those Toyota are stabel, easy to maintain and they need little care.... Checking the Oil ....and they will last you a long time :)--> In NZ i`ve seen Hiace with a mileage up to 450 000 km / 2,8 m miles and they are still running pretty great!!! Greetings from cold Germany
This question has been racking my brain for a long while now as we're planning to get a 4x4 capable van for South America. At this point I'm optimistically banking that in 2 years Tesla's electric cargo vans they plan to replace their Sprinter fleet with will be hopefully available for the public! Figure out a way to engineer generator, solar, and possibly even wind power to charge that massive battery and BOOM! AWD on a fully electric van! Everything is possible. It's just a matter of how soon at this point :)
I have a Mitsubishi Delica 4wd Diesel van with low range. Planning on running it on used veggie oil and travelling around the world. I'm sure one day we will meet. Great videos, I like the sliding bed into coach configuartion, will be using a similar design.
With Ryan's ruclips.net/user/postUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE plan I was like one taken by the hand and led step by step from start to finish. Thank you very much Ryan!
This guy is super talented. I have looked at a thousand van videos and his interior creation and craftsmanship deserves to be shared commercially. I have a 2017 4Runner that I would pay for this guy to outfit for me. The limited interior space makes it tricky to pack for off trail/van life... best video yet!
If you guys want a left hand steering 4x4 diesel van get it from the Philippines, you guys can find Toyota's, Mitsubishi, and Nissan. And the most popular here is the Mitsubishi Delica 4x4 van. Others just use any ordinary diesel van here and convert it to 4x4 and its very cheap to do it here, part are cheap and labor as well. We get original parts from japan.
This was the bus we took to school in jamaica as kids, they had beast mode sound systems installed by the owners playing reggae music😂 we took the ones with the best sound leaving us def when we got to school.
A great build, very inspiring for folks in southern Africa where a Hi Ace is probably the most common vehicle, used as a taxi, delivery vehicle, school bus. I haven’t seen any converted into a camper.
I have the Hiace Commuter(High roof). It's a diesel 2.8 litre. They are commonly used here in Australia as taxis(airport shuttles &wheelchair access) . It's done over a million kilometres! Best vans ever. Judging by the fact you called it a hi-archy I'm guessing these aren't common in the US/Canada?? They are certainly common everywhere else
Well done sir! (And lady lol) I was actually just looking at vehicles I owned back in the high-school days and one of my favorites was my 88 vanwagon 4cyl gas push button 4wd. My lady has always been a big fan of the vw microbus and I happened across your build. We love it! It would be so great to find another one and do something like you have here. Very cool!
Wow, that is an amazing build/design! Loved the exterior lighting and the awesome pull out kitchen. Willow seems to be living and loving a relaxing life :) Great that the bars are no sugar added!!!
Right on Dylan! I enjoyed this video and it gave me some ideas for the Tacoma truck topper build I'm doing at the present moment. Planning to hit the road for the tip of S America in two years so in the meantime I'll be dialing in my 4x4 truck. Been on the road since July 2015 and couldn't imagine living life any other way. Cheers and thanks for the great video! - Brian
I live in Japan and it's a great place to buy used because of the condition Japanese keep their vehicles in. Hmmm maybe I should start importing vans to N.America
A Million Toms I'm looking for a 4x4 van. Needs to be left hand drive. Any advice on where to find one from Japan. I would prefer the pop top. Any help would be great. Thanks
Love this van! It’s amazing what you’ve done to it! It’s so so stealth!!!! Nicely packed and especially love the outdoor/indoor kitchen! Only thing I have to have to have.....is the ability to stand up. I’ll take that over a toilet or shower! Be careful tho. Your young now and don’t feel it right away. But the constant stopping and bending can strain ur back and cause issues in the future. Thanks for sharing!
I love all you videos Dylan. This one in particular because I love these vans. I currently own a 2002 Eurovan - I need to check your channel to see if you've showcased anyone adventuring in one. Thanks for all the great work you do!
Beautiful work man! I love the way you pronounce “Hee-achee” haha!😂 Greetings from South Africa, where the Hi-Ace is ubiquitous as a people-mover. Never thought of using this as a base for a camper, but it makes total sense!
Amazing build, I wouldn’t store plastic bags on the fuse block, if it gets hot 🔥 not a happy ending, can get fruit hammocks for things lik bags or store in sliding door
I've always loved Hiaces (or as this guy says, a Hi-achee haha), but I really wish they would make them 4wd. Love the diesel models too, however, duel tanks would be great for actually getting around Australia and getting off the beaten track. Hoping to fit out another one soon! Great job man!
*Love the conversion man!* Dang, so that’s how you Albertans stay sane during winters lol As a Manitoban, I don’t have that rich farmer dad that employs me, so I can’t leave in winter lol But I love the Imports. I mean just look at the newer Regius and Grand Hiace, amazing microvans.. One of those will be my next Cheers, enjoy the van life
Best SC design i seen so far, others just make me feel suffocating, the only issue is wishing the big sunroof was on the bedside so i can enjoy the night sky, contemplating whether to put the bed in opposite direction. Any tips or something you would of done differently? I am looking to build mine into a camper soon :)
hi Alex! Awesome set up you have there! Cosy, functional, just great😊🙏 would you make me sharing your floor plan? I build a T4 and would love to follow your build as inspiration! Greetings from Scandinavia!🌍🌨️
Hey man great videos! Just finished my own van build and your videos definitely helped us figure out what we wanted to turn it into. We also have a G20 but it's the Executive edition.. whatever that means. Pumped to see how the sailing experience goes! Keep on rollin.
This is one of the best small van conversions I've seen. I just imported a 2000 Delica to Vancouver Canada, and looking at converting now. What kind of racks are those, custom? And what did you do with the back door section? Is it just for cargo? I see a lot of people do their stove/cooking in the back section (cos its under cover), but with an awning I tihnk the side like yours is way better!
Hello! Nice video. I liked your design ideas. I just bought a HIACE myself and intend to rebuild it. I especially liked the way you made the bed. Can you please give me some advice on the construction? Best regards, Benny, Finland.
hey. converting my van at the moment. same as yours. doing the same with the bed but could you please advise the dimensions of the seat portion and the back rest portion. thanks
hey Alex, nice van woodwork looks good. great idea on the kitchen ( indoor/outdoor) got a quick question: how did you do the bed? i hope you reply. thanks. raymund
this van is awesome! how did he import it into Canada? I'm in Canada and looking to do a conversion with a small diesel van and don't want to spend 30k on a Merc Sprinter. Thanks!
Alex Roy You need to find an importer and a vehicle 15 years or older (as per Canadian law) to import. If I were you, Pacific Coast Auto is one of the best importers, they sell tons of cars from Japan to Canada, USA and other countries.
Those bars looked good, just ordered with your code. I like the partnerships you are picking out, and the content is always great. Can't wait to see your newest adventures with the boating
I recently bought a super custom and am looking for a good roof rack option? What rack did you go with or do you have any options i could look in to? Thanks
I'd definitely Go into Van Life Just from all the convincing videos you produce @ Dylan Magaster. Only problem would probably be employment and figuring out how to find a source of finance to cover the maintenance of the vehicle, INsurance IF pulled over, and who knows?.... any trouble you come along while on the Road. Great Content! #VanLife
Do you think importing a Toyota is the best way around the affordable 4x4 diesel option? How would you do it?
Dylan Magaster maybe in an auction of vehicles from the army? thanks for the kind words! I'll be building a new one in a few months, you might want to tune in. pics will be up on IG

This is my favorite design of all of the van builds I've seen. I'm gunna be using this for inspiration when I start to map out my own. So fire.
WTF is a hiachi?......its a high ACE! AHAH. amazing build. love it!
I owe a Hiace and will be calling it a Hi-achee from now on hahaha. Brilliant
Is that not like the full Japanese pronunciation?
Японские автомобили самые лучшие в мире.лучше чем американские.

Great that the bars are no sugar added!!!
Clever set up.
One of the coolest van conversions all the way around that i have seen! Thank you for sharing!
kudos on an exceptional design and build for that space...that you were able to pull it off in a month is amazing!
Right on Dylan! I enjoyed this video and it gave me some ideas for the Tacoma truck topper build I'm doing at the present moment. Colorado Backcountry Adventures , funny how you can find other youtubers in the comment section. I subscribe to your channel ,great stuff
Did you start your trip to SAmerica? Its been two years lol
I thought l could never get all I wanted into a small van, you proved me wrong, thankyou, great layout.
I live in Japan and it's a great place to buy used because of the condition Japanese keep their vehicles in. Hmmm maybe I should start importing vans to N.America

yes you should and not just America, look at Australia and Africa; 4x4 Toyotas are the way to go
A Million Toms
Not every one cares to drive here with steering wheel on wrong side..
Where are you located? Plenty of LHD, 4x4, diesel vans in Europe.
How much?
Cool build , I enjoyed your video, thanks. I liked how you used every square inch of space.
You did an awesome job on ur build. Great ideas, and looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing

Hi, great video and outstanding setting. You should post a video how did you design that van sofa bed. Keep rocking.
I love all you videos Dylan. This one in particular because I love these vans. I currently own a 2002 Eurovan - I need to check your channel to see if you've showcased anyone adventuring in one. Thanks for all the great work you do!
7:13 Great built-in table idea.
Great build! Nice beat and well thought out. This guy is talented.
What a sweet guy. Obviously from the Prairies. Great conversion. Lots of good ideas. Thanks for sharing 🙏✌️🧡
your killin it dylan
As a Van owner for 28 years and a Hiace owner from 15 years, this a great build.
Wow, this is a realy cool and clever van, the bed pulley/hoist (sorry dont know the right english word, im from germany) at around 8:50 is genius :D
Beautiful work man! I love the way you pronounce “Hee-achee” haha!😂 Greetings from South Africa, where the Hi-Ace is ubiquitous as a people-mover. Never thought of using this as a base for a camper, but it makes total sense!
Been following him for a long time, stoked to watch this video!
Amazing build, I wouldn’t store plastic bags on the fuse block, if it gets hot 🔥 not a happy ending, can get fruit hammocks for things lik bags or store in sliding door
“Lunch box” is actually a kitchen ! Simply brilliant!
I've always loved Hiaces (or as this guy says, a Hi-achee haha), but I really wish they would make them 4wd. Love the diesel models too, however, duel tanks would be great for actually getting around Australia and getting off the beaten track. Hoping to fit out another one soon! Great job man!
they come in 4wd and 2wd models
Amazing build. Very well done. Does anyone know how he did the sofa bed build? Looking to do something similar in my hiace
any luck finding anything?
*Love the conversion man!*
Dang, so that’s how you Albertans stay sane during winters lol

Nice build! Living the Toyota dream!
In Malaysia we pronounce hiace as High Ace. So funny to hear it as Hiachi. 😂
y'all are pronouncing it right. idk where this guy got his pronunciation, but it's not from the US lol
hi Alex! Awesome set up you have there! Cosy, functional, just great😊🙏 would you make me sharing your floor plan? I build a T4 and would love to follow your build as inspiration! Greetings from Scandinavia!🌍🌨️
Amazing woodwork, love it
exceptional ! being not an high top roof van you have done great using your space at the best!
Hey man great videos! Just finished my own van build and your videos definitely helped us figure out what we wanted to turn it into. We also have a G20 but it's the Executive edition.. whatever that means. Pumped to see how the sailing experience goes! Keep on rollin.
Toph Narsesian can you make a vid on it
Daniel Elkin will do, just waiting for some warmer weather
So perfect for a long long road trip. We have our VW Camper van too! AWESOME life out there that we can really enjoy! Cool one!
rxbars are very tasty. Great video and thanks for the discount Dylan
Nice setup , how deep is the side counter?
And the one behind the seats what you do to work on the engine ?
He really thought it thru how he has build the inside 👍 really amazing 🙂 Love your video's 😉
A superb and inspirational video.
Well thought-out van in price, easy maintenance, simple and practicality.

Little 2.8 Liter Diesel? It's actually big in Europe :D. I'm driving a 1.8 liter's Ford Mondeo Patrol.
Greatings my friend
Toyota vans are super reliable,I have a Toyota Granvia (hiace) 3lt turbo diesel,it’s just clicked over 510000kms still going strong
Really simple really useful setup!!! Like it alot
Is this a part time four wheel-drive? Great job! Totally agree that these cars stands for reliability.
This was an entertaining video, but I think your RXBar was probably my favorite.
Awesome Rig!!! Thanks for Sharing!
Three very good designs that I will add to my van build.
Nice set up...just wondering what size the tyres are?
Very Nice Build, enjoyed the story
Love the folding bed
Hello! Nice video. I liked your design ideas. I just bought a HIACE myself and intend to rebuild it. I especially liked the way you made the bed. Can you please give me some advice on the construction? Best regards, Benny, Finland.
well built sir, functionl and practical.
Not sure when HiAce became Hiache but great build all the same, we had 3 HiAces and a LiteAce when I was a child, happy memories.
you mean toyota hi - ace, since the engine is under the seat , it's really hot though but a cool set up i like it. specially the bed,
Link does not work for Rx Bar. Also, the only option is the sampler. Is that what the 25% off is for?
Love the van - simple and functional - all you need :) PSE explain or show vid of that portable shower - how does it work?
haiachi... huh?
it's a hiace.. "high ace" 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
haaaahaha I was like "whaaat did he say?'
Let the man do Japaniachi for like 5 min, will ya?
LMAO
😂😂🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ my poor boy don’t know it.
hahahahaha
Really cool Van dude , you done well.
Hey Dylan....just order the RXBAR ! Ty
Thumbs up from Florida ! ENJOY... THE SIMPLE LIFE
Nice build and well considered. Cracking job.
The bed idea awesome 👏🏽✨✨ I’m getting myself a Hiace thanks Dylan
Way 💣 just Bomb build out!!! 5⭐️ 💎
Great job brother enjoy your travels peace
Right hand drive is pretty bizarre. Nice job bud. The auto helps. I briefly drove a manual in Australia and it took a lot of concentration.
That bed setup is probably the best I've seen in a small van, awesome!
Super sick build
I worked on a few gas Toyota vans in the mid 1980’s. Solid well built, but best in drier habitat.
A great van and van-build!
Please tell me you did a video on that blue Sprinter! I love those old short wheelbase sprinters.
Such a sweet setup! That thing can roll. :) Thanks for sharing - Shane
Great episode!
Cool bro
We have the same inverter! We're inverter brothers!
hey. converting my van at the moment. same as yours. doing the same with the bed but could you please advise the dimensions of the seat portion and the back rest portion. thanks
hey Alex, nice van woodwork looks good. great idea on the kitchen ( indoor/outdoor) got a quick question: how did you do the bed? i hope you reply. thanks. raymund

That's awesome thank you! Have you used them before?
Alex Roy I haven't but heard excellent remarks about them.
Amazing ! Great escape for Alex!
Nice work buddy 👏🏻
Pronounced High-Ace in Australia but I prefer HIATCHI! So I’ll be adopting your version 😎👍
Love your design.
Do you have a video on how you made the bed?
Incredible design, incredible video. Those RX bars look delicious too. :-)
Those bars looked good, just ordered with your code. I like the partnerships you are picking out, and the content is always great. Can't wait to see your newest adventures with the boating
I recently bought a super custom and am looking for a good roof rack option? What rack did you go with or do you have any options i could look in to? Thanks
A really well done conversion.

Great great van ! Love Toyotas💕
Sick bro! Is there any way you could point me in the direction to make the same bed design as you?
I really like it in small rooms made simple and not much space.
Nice. Just like what I want to have in the future.
