- The history of women in the military extends over 4,000 years back throughout a vast number of cultures and nations. From ancient warrior women to the those currently serving in conflict areas like Somalia.
Whereas being a soldier is widely viewed by many as a man’s job, this is not the case with Lance Corporal Rita Ayebare and Lance Corpora Alice Achom both enrolled in the armoured division of Uganda peoples defence forces and tank drivers.

Joining the army means having a mind ready to sucrify you body to the bullet in order to defend us who have other intrests in life, but it is not looking for the job otherwise you will run away from the battle tank if "moto nawaka"

I used to have such a mind like yours when I was young. But the more l grew up and with rational thinking l realized that you can meet your death by accident, by whatever means and being a soldier is a job like any other.

I know one thing, my Ugandan wife isn't joining no Ugandan military. I told her I'll send her to truck driving school to drive an 18 wheeler like me when I bring her to America, however, she will not get involved in any military killing. I'm African-American and live in Uganda, its my second home. I'd join the military to protect Uganda if I had to because I have family there, but not my wife and no girls should be getting involved with military is my personal opinion.
