I watched this several times and it's plain Insane. But then I watched this in half speed and it became clear that it is even more Insane than originally thought.
cleanhit777 agreed, for me to get his same pinch harmonic attack sound, I really need to pick my notes harder, but here u can see he does it effortsly lightly
I am not talking about the regular listeners but the guitarists themselves need to be educated or grammatically knowledgeable to understand what’s going on there the stuffs he is playing!! Wow 🤩
Best guitar player ever!!! Everything he plays sounds completely amazing and mesmerizing, technical and beautiful at the same time. Simply magnificent!!!
This is so great. I started FG school 1 year ago and after one year of learning sweep quite a lot of things became possible. I could play along Passages, Frankly Speaking and some other bits and riff that were not possible before. Also playing is now pleasant to do as it it easier then ever before. Frank had never been my type of guitar god but during pandemic I decided ...why not to do something different for a change and learn how to sweep. It was worth it. It restored confidence in my playing and the course is done such way that even if I hear licks that feel impossible I have got a confidence that with FG method I will get them under my fingers sooner or later. I took up another course 'Peace and harmony' that seems a adventure for 2022.
Outstanding sounds to me you have learned two of the most important lessons a musician can learn. One , progress is not possible without deviation from the norm. Two , the road to perfection is a journey not a destination and along that road lies the Joy's of discovery. Well done !
The fact alone that there is somebody able to play this is crazy. But to do so while contantly making the same facial expressions i do when i hear fantastic news is 🤯🤯🤯
This guy is sometimes underestimated as a "just" technical fast-player but he is much more. His musicality is unbelievable and about his technical skills there is nothing left to say. Thank you Frank, you put guitar after Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Hendrix and Van Halen to the next playground of possibilitys. Cheers Ben
Wow... Going all the way back to "Brave New Guitar" for this track ! Many people don't realize that was 35 years ago ! Was surprised not to see the FG 2 for this one, as Frank played either a modified Strat or a Kramer on the original ; That was before the Ibanez endorsement, heck, even before his days with Chick ! But deep down, I'm a thin-line guitar guy at heart and I love the FG 1 ! Super performance, Frank ! After listening to you for nearly 40 years, you still never cease to amaze me !!!
Frank, this tune off your live album got me through some hard times, and some inspiring times!!! By far one of my favorite live solos to listen to. Thank you, sir.
Seriously, if you haven’t signed up for Frank’s online classes you are missing out on some quality instruction. And Frank, once again those not choices are freaking perfect. See you in again Chicago soon!
There are plenty great guitarist out there.Very few have been life changing for the guitar world. IMO Les Paul and Frank Gamble are at the top of my list because they truly changed the world of guitar playing so dramatically. To round out my personal top 6 would Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck Allen Holdsworth and of course Eddie Van Halen. Without these six. IMO music would not be what it is without these guys .Today's up and coming players seem to forget we all stand on the shoulders of those who came before us.
@@davederoux3361 Yes ,Frank .I had the pleasure of teaching Adrian Belew Chinese martial arts for approx two years. Right when he joined King Crimson when he lived in Champaign Il. Now I've been playing over 60 yrs. And of course I picked his brain at every opportunity. When Frank hired him he couldn't read sheetmusic . So one of the conditions was he had to move in with Frank with his family and study music theory. It was supposed to be for 6 mo.s turned out to be alittle over two years. Adrian said that the main thing he got from the time with Frank was the ability to play in very odd time signatures. If you can find it in an interview Steve Vai. He said the real gift Frank had was to find that one thing that a musician could do better than anyone else . Then he would exploit the living shit out of it. IMO Frank was a composer that happened to play guitar. His understanding of music theory was way beyond almost everyone else . But what made him so special was the fact he was a great teacher and mentor to members of his bands .He pushed them to achievements they couldn't even comprehend when they started. Just look at his roster of talent. And where they went after their time with Frank was over. I would suggest you look deep into Frank's catalog. Especially music like Black page ,Valley of the Sun ,Zombie wolf , Apostrophe. I consider him to be the greatest composer of the last century. When Dweezil decided to go out and play Frank's music he went to Frank Gamble for help to play all the seemly impossible solos . That speaks volumes about the complexity of Frank Zs music and solos . Albums to check out would be Apostrophe, One Size fits all , The best band you never heard , and Shut up and play your guitar . If you do take the time to check them out I would love to hear what you think . Enjoy the Frankness .
Awesome slow version. Slower than the Brave New Guitar one and certainly the 88 Live one. GREAT for players learning to weave through some pretty challenging changes. I know I was a deer in headlights for quite a while trying to solo on this one haha (oh and it's still challenging!)

next live tune " Natives are restless" probably the most hardest difficult song on your career, not only it has most difficult rythm strumming pattern, the live version solo is defitnely uncopiable. No wonders there's no cover of tha in youtube 😂
Dear Frank, please send me a kiesel Vader so I can jam with you. Doesn't that sound awesome...for me. Or better yet send me yours. I with give it back...eventually. I promise.
I watched this several times and it's plain Insane. But then I watched this in half speed and it became clear that it is even more Insane than originally thought.
His version of this on his live album in 1989 is absolutely burning.
It's ridiculous how economical his motions are... no wasted movement.
His touch is just so light and yet his hands look immensely strong.
cleanhit777 agreed, for me to get his same pinch harmonic attack sound, I really need to pick my notes harder, but here u can see he does it effortsly lightly

The 1987 live with CRB on it was the first cd I purchased. What a record !!!

I remember buying the CD on import back in the days. Still as terrifyingly good over three decades later.
Frank is like good red wines... Better and better
Wow this is one of Frank's really old ones. Glad to hear him dust it off. It's the First song I ever heard from him.
Perfection with soul. Alienistic level of playing and musicality!
I want Frank in G3 !!
This.
The Thunder From Down Under ! That was beautiful.
Frank Gambale, the master of the masters.
So melodic. Thanks Maestro!
What a wonderful artist ...a national treasure from down under!!! Our true connection to Chick!!!
There was a reason Chick Corea signed him for the CCEB - he's the best! That face at 4:25, he was pretty stoked with that liddle performance.
He is FIRE, his music is pure bright energy, whenever I feel sick, I just listen to his music... his music, my medicine!
A Frank's classic that sounds fresh today, great solo!

I have to say Hendrix is NOT even qualify to tie Frank's shoes lace, please do not beat me up...I am serious 😂
That’s why Frank is the master. Amazing phrasing as usual and effortless technique. No one comes close.
Frank, this is the VERY first song I heard you place live at jazz club in No.Hollywood. Been a fan ever since..
It is always a great pleasure to see and hear the formidable Frank.

Frank is chewing citrus-flavored bubble gum in his mind as he plays these phrases. 🍊
Economy/sweep picking masterclass in one transcribed solo.
insanely tasty 👍😬
Frank gambale is like the late Robert James Fischer: " Best by test " !
2:19 teach me how to do it please, I'm dying to know
2:19 - 3:18!.
@@alexojohndlaborgona3653 just 2:19 - 2:21 for me, he won't teach you if you asking to much 🥲
Nice!
Question: Is there a studio version of the tune “Schmooze”? The only version I’ve heard is off of _Live in Japan 1988, Vol 2_
ruclips.net/video/_-WZO4CdEHE/видео.html ;
into the album Note Worker. There is also one of my favourites, High 5.
Eric marienthal also did a version in a solo album of his ruclips.net/video/WvvjWlYjKUE/видео.html
@@DimitriFrondizi Thanks, this is awesome! I don’t know why I didn’t see it on Spotify when I searched before

I played it on 1/2 speed and it’s still fast and looks very difficult!

G3??? WITH SCOTT HENDERSON AND GREG HOWE???
There was already in Mexico, Andy Timmons, Greg Howe and Frank Gambale.
@@jFv_01 Musikmesse usually have combinations like that (never bin to NAMM, but I suspect the same thing there)

Frank is so gifted. His style is reminiscent to the late great Allan Holdsworth.
better than yngwie
NOT the same level! in musicality....Frank much much higher!
