David Byrne! What a surprise. Somehow I hadn't expected to see him here. Guess it has to do with him seeming so much larger than life than most of the other guests on this show. To me at least. He is an original, lovably odd, with a unique singing voice.
It really is good to have him still here, producing new music, having that youthful spark in his eyes.
Yeah, can't help it; whenever I see him I am reminded of another even bigger legend,

Skipping class & seeing talking heads was the smartest thing I ever did at that point in my life. It turned me onto a different path, a difference way of looking at things that profited me greatly as I got older.

Stephen Colbert is never starstruck. But I think in this interview somewhere he is just flapping around in the back of his mind going holly shit this is DAVID BYRNE, holly shit this is DAVID BYRNE , holly shit this is DAVID BYRNE. (Because there's a few moments where he is just dumfounded for words.)

I had a very similar experience to Stephen's when I was in college, except I got tickets to a Dave Matthews acoustic show, and had to give it up to go to class.

You can always write papers, you can't always see David Byrne perform. Most of us won't end up with late night shows where we can have him on as a guest.
