John, thanks, similar issue with 945 lte; couple months old, all features work, except lte live event share (without mobile phone). Start event, invite sent, start activity, run begins, then within a few seconds live tracking stops, then press to resume, then stops, then green or blue triangle. Never works. I have contacted TS, hard resets, software current. Maybe lte coverage? I live in RI, map good, tried multiple locations. Now searching the web.
Any ideas, I like the watch, same as you, good match of features I am looking for.
Just a thought after watching your videos about updates with Express. I installed with defaults; I did not install maps (listed as optional) so I decided to keep it simple. Could that be my issue? Sounds like a long shot?
      Your thoughts
      Richard

Ha! That’s great! Yeah some of these videos are ones I create for search reasons for people needing this, understanding that most my subscribers, unless they have a Garmin that’s having a problem have no interest in this lol.

Thank you! Just had the triangle freeze the night before the Otillo Orca swim run with 13 swim run legs in the World Series and it worked! I would have been up a creek with the watch and time. Thank you

I had the same problem with my fenix 5 plus. But here in Germany Garmin isn’t very generous. They offered a 10% discount on a watch from their homepage, which would be stupid to buy from because prices there are a lot higher than at every other retailer.

Do you do icebaths? After 3 months of icebaths my Forerunner screen did the same (Screen started to lift on perimeter) and eventually wouldn't turn on. Probably too much expanding and contracting due to extreme temp variation.

Nope I took and take my watch off before any baths or showers..the heat from outside when it got above 100 is what I think caused the break in the seal of the glass face on the watch.

I have had the Forerunner 935 for almost 10 years. Never had any problems, it's still brand new but one day I changed nationality by mistake after I reset it and it froze. I tried restarting it and it looped over and over again. I contacted Garmin and they told me that the product is very old and to replace the possibly failed parts, it costs too much money. In the end I got a Fenix 7X which I use anyway with band for running, cycling, weight training, crossfit etc.
I am satisfied because the Fenix really has a lot of useful functions, but I am sorry to have a device that is 10 years old, brand new but reboots in loops...

Thx for the video. Had my Forerunner 955 get triangle of death 5-10 miles from the finish of my bucket list 100 mile race (just prior it was still 50% charged). Super disappointed to lose the data. Luckily the hard reset the next day fixed the watch but not very cool that a $500 watch would fail. I had it on low power mode, GPS only, & course map launched so I’m guessing the watch was strained for resources and crashed. Kind of regret not getting a Coros since people rave about the battery life (I thought Garmin was just more trustworthy during the purchase). Before this had an old workhorse Suunto Ambit 3 that worked great but needed an upgrade for maps & battery life. Sucks but I may consider carrying a spare watch during the next race and also just expect that even the best tech can fail. Do better Garmin!

Yeah, it’s disheartening to pay so much for a watch and have it seemingly fail for no reason.

Hey there. Have the same problem , exactly same problem but with the Garmin Fenix 6 (by that time cost me USD 700 in my country). I have also tried everything to fix it. Finally I called Garmin, they said they could give me a 50% discount in another Garmin product but since I don't know if I'm going to face the same problem I just decided not to spend a in single coin another Garmin product, is just I don't trust anymore. I've decided to go for another brand (still don´t know which one). I hope all facing the same problem can fix it some how. Anyway, thanks for the video, it seems I'm not alone on this.

That is unfortunate. I went with the replacement and haven’t had any issues, but I definitely should’ve gotten longer than three years out of a $600 watch.

Have the same problem also with my Venu SQ 2. It only last a year before the battery started to drain very quickly.
Its such a shame for a brand as big as Garmin have a more fragile product than the chinese brand

Totally agree and happened to me. My Fenix 7x Pro died on me meanwhile my friend's Fenix 5 is still going strong. Garmin offered a refurbished watch which I didn't take. I figure the Fenix 8 will come out soon and I will get one.
Its funny how my watch died after I tried to update the maps...it was fine for years until I connected it to my PC...

My 8 months old venu 2 plus (520 ish dollar equivalent in Indian rupees) have restarted around 25 times (those I could count) during the past 24 hrs.
Just now it went into a 15 minute update+restart cycle; there were around 5 long vibrations prior, to grab my attention, and I think some messages regarding incoming updates. This cycle is what made me search through youtube.
Before I could post this comment, it finally came on and I just hope and pray that this big update solved all that went wrong inside it for no reason yesterday.
In India, Garmin customer care is virtually non-existent as it painfully dawned to me today. I am at the mercy of this watch now
