I’ve been cracking my head on whick to choose between a CIS and IT. I have a 💯% tuition coverage scholarship to study any degree of my choice in Arizona State University. Hi, first of congrats! I'm about to start my journey as a CIS student at a university and my goal is to become a software engineer. Did you have to get any certifications along with your degree? I have no experience in coding so I think that's going to make it tough for me to find a job, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes.

So I'm trying to go to college for (mis) management information system but my college only has (cis) computer information system and (bis) business information systems which more is more related to mis degrees this is for a bachelor btw thanks.
I wanted to major in MIS but my local University doesn't offer it, Would majoring in CIS be the best second option or would majoring in Business administration with a concentration on MIS be better?
I know this might be a silly question. Is a Business Administration degree concentration on Management Information Systems the same as a degree in Management Information Systems. I'm enrolling in Southern New Hampshire University online and I was hoping this was an MIS degree.

I would say it depends on how technical the courses are for either degree and your long term goals. If you are dead center on going into Tech then make sure either degree is technical. My local college has a crappy CS program that focuses more on theory and math. That would be a useless program for those wanting to work in a technical role.
