I recently modded mine with the moonlit market Mod as well. I even picked the same color scheme you did! I was way too intimidated to try the usbc data mod as well. Not seeing any videos online really discouraged me. I was also planning on doing the wireless charging/ MagSafe mod but seeing you try was more than enough for me to hold off on that as well. Awesome video! Glad I watched

I've upgraded my 5.5 classic U2 edition from 30gb to 128gb and also added a 2000mah, and for the bluetooth I bought a bluetooth transmitter, and it's working flawlessly.

This is a helpful video. I was contemplating soldering for syncing...but I can live with digging out the 30 pin connector to sync music now and then.

In regards to the Wolfson DAC it’s not necessarily better or worse than the Cirrus DAC in later models. It just has a warmer sound which some people prefer. The big draw card of the 5 and 5.5 gen iPods is they are way easier to open than the 6 and 7 gens.

Thanks for insight. Great effort - I’m getting ready to try to upgrade and modernize my iPod as well. Thinking I’ll have to decide between either Bluetooth or Taptic Engine (not going the moonlit route) but appreciate the heads up on the soldering advice.

Thank you for making this video, the Classic Connect seems to be a bit too good to be true or at least it promises too much. I think making it so "thin" was a missed oportunity, but at the same time I am glad it exists and people are still modding iPods. I want al the functionality so much but soldering seems like a big risk and I guess I will pass on the Classic Connect for now, it is out of stock at the time, anyway.
    Thanks for making this video!

The Diggin The Greats guy kept bashing the algorythm, so the algorythm decided to put this in my feed to prove him wrong.
    He's still right, though. 😅

Thanks. I was thinking to getting this and doing USB C sync soldering. I still might get one but will not do the sync soldering. I don’t want to brick my iPod.
Once I since my whole library once I won’t sync much anyway. So usb c charging and Bluetooth is all I would really need. It is an easy way to add those features without modifying an original iPod back.
