The best way to shop on eBay for luxury is to buy from really reputable Japanese sellers. The ones with thousands of five star reviews do not sell fakes, Japan has very strict laws on selling/buying counterfeit products
The same also happens to sellers. I refuse to sell anything on via eBay. Authentic chanel bag purchased from harrods with all the bells and whistles. Buyer puts in fake claim and then proceeds to say they will keep the bag and get a refund! Luckily got the bag back but ebay is a platform for double sided scamming with zero protection to honest people. The stress it caused for the value I could of lost was not worth it.
I hear ya. I had 2 incidents with buyers, one damaged the items and then wanted a partial refund. The other tried to say an LV bag was lost in the post but it wasn’t and Royal Mail had tracked it. I was frantic trying to sort them both out. Not using eBay again unless I’m buying none luxury or selling stuff that is high street.
One of my red flags for this terrible experience you had with this eBay seller is not having the buttons. Who in their right mind would lose or displace Chanel (anything) buttons? Not necessarily, not all sellers are scammers. I sell GENUINE designer items all the time on ebay; that's unfair to assume that you're asking for trouble by buying off ebay!! :(
Me too. When I spend for luxury, I go straight to the boutique forr a piece of mind, a pride to own brand new. It's the way luxury should be bought. If you're poor stay away, save money for food instead. Luxury don't make you look rich, it makes you look dumb for owning while struggle to pay the bill.
I don't agree. How do you explain spending more to buy vintage items or sold out items on eBay? There is a risk but one have to judge if the risk is sufficient to swallow?so much self entitlement in the statement that only the rich should buy luxury first hand in boutique. Consignment stores should be given a chance as there are people who let go of their top condition luxury items due to who knows what reasons.

The problem with fakes is the fakes these days LOOK good but something just does not ''pass''. The good news is that if you paid with PayPal or American Express, they will fight your corner and you should get a full refund because at the end of the day, the eBay seller is committing fraud by knowingly selling a counterfeit product. Yea G always use PayPal or credit card so you can get your money back. Also, a good tip is to get it authenticated immediately after it arrives (there are many good websites that will authenticate for around £30 etc.). If it’s fake, return. If it’s real, you have spent an extra £30 which is better than losing thousands

Not all ebay sellers sell fake items. I only sell 100% authentic items. I go above and beyond for my customers. Some time if the price is to cheap it's most likely not really

In the end, seller is always at risk, even with due diligence done. Buyers, too have to educate themselves and do a lot of research before committing to purchase. Authenticate before you jump, or right after. This said, I’ve been lucky avoiding scammers so far. Always trust your gut feeling and trust but check, no matter how positive the feedback. I don’t leave comments very often but I wanted to let you know something because a similar thing happened to me in the past. It was almost 10 yrs ago, but I believe the law/regulation remains the same. According to the UK/EU consumer act, counterfeit goods should be destroyed and shouldn’t be returned to the seller. This is because the fundamental goal of this act is to eradicate counterfeit market as a whole, rather than helping an individual case. I presented this case to the seller who was also in USA, so I got my money back without having to return the item. When the case is this compelling, the same should applied to you. Nobody can compensate the stress you are going through at the moment and the time spent dealing with this disgusting incident! Producing/selling/trading counterfeit goods is NOT a victimless crime! Hope you get your money back soon! X

I had a similar experience in Malta LABEL, bought a 3000$ Chanel Boy, got back to America sent it to Chanel for some repair got the bag back and was told it was fake. Sent it back to the store and they refused to give me back my money claiming we were trying to scam them after I wrote a review for their store. I sent it pff to a 3rd party authenticator and opened a dispute in eBay. got my money back but the seller tried to say I sent a empty box. told them they can fuck off because I videoed myself sending it back and the receipt from the post office has the weight printed on there looool

Same with Chanel... in my opinion, luxury brands started tightening their services etc and it depends which country you are buying from etc... there are eBay sellers that sell authentic products, there are sometimes good deals but not for newest collections, at least I have not seen that

If you take it to a Chanel store and they verify in writing that it’s not authentic Ebay will refund you without any issue. Ebay’s policy is that they dont allow counterfeit products but the it’s on the buyer to prove it’s fake.
I know the seller you're referring to. Her ebay name is alwayssold911. She has sold fake Chanel bags before. Its horrible!!! If you search her name on ThePurseForum, you'll see several posts about her fakes.

I am so sorry. I almost bought something on Ebay from a seller from Florida. She answered very quickly. She tried to convince me with more pictures. She had 100 percent positive feedback. My gut kept saying she was a fraud. I looked at her history. She was buying dust bags and bags for cheap from Japanese sellers. I feel for you and she said no returns. I’m sorry this happened to you! I’ve been scammed and it’s just so stressful and upsetting! 😓 I do have a few tips though to everyone in the comments as well! When buying second hand always pay through PayPal! PayPal has always protected me with scam purchases. Also do your research and look at reviews! If you don’t trust reviews or don’t think you can authenticate yourself buy from second hand shops that authenticate like the RealReal etc (yes there is always a very tiny risk it could still be fake). You can also get company’s to look at the item for you online like “Real Authentication” to verify authenticity! In the long run buying second hand has been worth it for me because I save a ton and get the thrill of scoring a deal! Also I just love vintage 🥰 hope this is helpful!

As someone who also wears Chanel RTW I’ve sometimes been tempted to get pieces online that I missed; however this video proves again it’s not worth it! It’s why I only purchase from boutiques. My Chanel SA tells me that they frequently see fake bags and RTW brought in for repair or alteration. Like she says, it’s always hard to tell online. As soon as you pulled it out I could tell it was fake. The fabric looked rough even on screen and the way it draped just didn’t look high quality. Hi Maria. Is so sad you had to go through this. When you paid for something expecting to get what you paid for and got a fake item, it's so disappointing and frustrating. Hope you can get your refund ASAP. Just in case you have issues getting the refund, please keep all your receipts, return evidence, communications with the seller and Ebay, terms and conditions of return/refund, evidence that the article is fake and dispute the charge with your bank. When a dispute process for this scenario is started, it's important to let the bank know it's due to a fake item that was sent back to the seller. Do not allow them to open a case for product quality. If so, the dispute may possibly not get solved in your favour. I work for a credit card and that's why I wanted to advise you about it. Ebay will make sure you receive a refund. They have for me several times. The designer RTW on there has many sellers with good ratings that sell fakes. I am not sure how they get these good ratings for years. I only purchase designer accessories on Ebay now. I have had several bad experiences with designer RTW. Some Gucci items that are fake on there look and feel almost identical! I am so sorry this happened to you. Thanks for all the amazing content!

Sheeshhhh this is so AWFUL! I just got scammed on eBay as well and already received a partial refund. My final refund is enroute. I purchased fake j’adior slingbacks and ebay didn’t require me to send them back. Its a long story but they also “refunded” me and then cancelled the PayPal refund to defraud me and eBay further. Also, I totally agree with you! It is so much more helpful to identify fake items if you have already purchased comparable items straight from the boutique so you can compare.

Years ago I purchased a fake on EBAY. I filed a case, and it took months to resolve, and eBay's reasoning for the delay was always it was being reviewed by an expert. After 9 months, I opened a case against eBay with the Better Business Beurau, which helped resolve my case in my favor. I hope their process and is faster now. If they don't respond, keep pushing. I hope you get your $ back!

I’m the same as you, I’d be completely embarrassed to wear a fake & would prefer to wear a lesser brand. I have a few items from my collection that I want to sell, I’m scared to sell them now because there are scammers on both sides of the transaction.
I had a similar experience in Malta LABEL, bought a 3000$ Chanel Boy, got back to America sent it to Chanel for some repair got the bag back and was told it was fake. Sent it back to the store and they refused to give me back my money claiming we were trying to scam them after I wrote a review for their store. Product code 🤣 something to look out in the future. Totally agree with you on buying inexpensive items from brands such as ZARA or other high street brands instead of purchasing counterfeit items. They are just disgusting! EBay has money guarantee, you have to call them and PayPal. You will get your money back, it happened to me with a Fendi bag.

I sent it pff to a 3rd party authenticator and opened a dispute in eBay. got my money back but the seller tried to say I sent a empty box. told them they can fuck off because I videoed myself sending it back and the receipt from the post office has the weight printed on there looool
aarif1202a my friends bought a fake Chanel trendy. She sent me pictures of the inside because she had doubts. It was fake. I just googled the serial number and it’s a known fake serial number. She got her money back.

Chanel in the last few years been making knits of not very good quality at all, so when you said Chanel fabric is always feel luxurious, I completely disagree...it is luxury if the price is anywhere above £4000... in regards to Hermes, about the spa for bags, please note that many brands changed their policies and there are certain terms and conditions and bag spa is no longer readily available as before. Same with Chanel... in my opinion, luxury brands started tightening their services etc and it depends which country you are buying from etc... there are eBay sellers that sell authentic products, there are sometimes good deals but not for newest collections, at least I have not seen that
I bought a few years ago a pair of sneakers from Isabel Marant from EBay ... At that time you could t put your hands on in a store they were sold out everywhere... I wanted them so bad I bought a pair for 1500 euros instead of 300 euros ( original price ) that s how bad I wanted them ... I got the pair and the pair wasn t brand new as mentioned but extermely old... And the seller had only good reviews ! That was my last time on eBay so I m not supprised ... I am continuing to watch… I am so sorry you went through that my beautiful friend I hate the fact that there are people that lack integrity and will sell you something so expensive knowing that it’s not real… However that being said I bought a pair of the classic CC earrings from the Chanel in Houston because there is none in Austin and it came tarnished already out the box and had to send it back ...$405! ....Chanel too needs to level up with giving us more quality as well.

If you take it to a Chanel store and they verify in writing that it’s not authentic Ebay will refund you without any issue. Ebay’s policy is that they dont allow counterfeit products but the it’s on the buyer to prove it’s fake.
I know the seller you're referring to. Her ebay name is alwayssold911. She has sold fake Chanel bags before. Its horrible!!! If you search her name on ThePurseForum, you'll see several posts about her fakes.

I am so sorry. I almost bought something on Ebay from a seller from Florida. She answered very quickly. She tried to convince me with more pictures. She had 100 percent positive feedback. My gut kept saying she was a fraud. I looked at her history. She was buying dust bags and bags for cheap from Japanese sellers. I feel for you and she said no returns. I’m sorry this happened to you! I’ve been scammed and it’s just so stressful and upsetting! 😓 I do have a few tips though to everyone in the comments as well! When buying second hand always pay through PayPal! PayPal has always protected me with scam purchases. Also do your research and look at reviews! If you don’t trust reviews or don’t think you can authenticate yourself buy from second hand shops that authenticate like the RealReal etc (yes there is always a very tiny risk it could still be fake). You can also get company’s to look at the item for you online like “Real Authentication” to verify authenticity! In the long run buying second hand has been worth it for me because I save a ton and get the thrill of scoring a deal! Also I just love vintage 🥰 hope this is helpful!

I hope you get everything resolved with this woman. That was a terrible thing to do. eBay and PayPal are pretty good about handling disputes between buyers and sellers. I’ve had a few problems like not receiving my items and I’ve gotten refunds So, good luck I hope you get your money back.

The Idiot that I am allowed the seller to resolve it herself and told me she would refund me my money when she received the item. It ended up getting lost and nobody took ownerships- PayPal and eBay said they couldn’t do it at that point. It’s so unfortunate that a lot of brands don’t offer online shopping (I’m in Canada)

As someone who also wears Chanel RTW I’ve sometimes been tempted to get pieces online that I missed; however this video proves again it’s not worth it! It’s why I only purchase from boutiques. My Chanel SA tells me that they frequently see fake bags and RTW brought in for repair or alteration. Like she says, it’s always hard to tell online. As soon as you pulled it out I could tell it was fake. The fabric looked rough even on screen and the way it draped just didn’t look high quality. Hi Maria. Is so sad you had to go through this. When you paid for something expecting to get what you paid for and got a fake item, it's so disappointing and frustrating. Hope you can get your refund ASAP. Just in case you have issues getting the refund, please keep all your receipts, return evidence, communications with the seller and Ebay, terms and conditions of return/refund, evidence that the article is fake and dispute the charge with your bank. When a dispute process for this scenario is started, it's important to let the bank know it's due to a fake item that was sent back to the seller. Do not allow them to open a case for product quality. If so, the dispute may possibly not get solved in your favour. I work for a credit card and that's why I wanted to advise you about it. Ebay will make sure you receive a refund. They have for me several times. The designer RTW on there has many sellers with good ratings that sell fakes. I am not sure how they get these good ratings for years. I only purchase designer accessories on Ebay now. I have had several bad experiences with designer RTW. Some Gucci items that are fake on there look and feel almost identical! I am so sorry this happened to you. Thanks for all the amazing content!

Sheeshhhh this is so AWFUL! I just got scammed on eBay as well and already received a partial refund. My final refund is enroute. I purchased fake j’adior slingbacks and ebay didn’t require me to send them back. Its a long story but they also “refunded” me and then cancelled the PayPal refund to defraud me and eBay further. Also, I totally agree with you! It is so much more helpful to identify fake items if you have already purchased comparable items straight from the boutique so you can compare.
Hi Maria!! Don’t worry! You should be covered under the money back guarantee. The same thing happened to me a few months back. I returned the item to the seller and got all my money back. Open a case with EBay and paypal. They will contact the seller.
Maria. I'm so sorry this happened to you. Similar happened to me only with a Louis Vuitton messenger bag.
Not thousands of dollars worth.
I'd done a put so much money down and then make additional payments.
But I totally feel you and the sadness getting a fake item brings you.
I do have to agree with others who say use Japanese based sellers for preloved products because it is very true they are super strict law wise for preowned luxury items.

I am a seller on ebay and frankly I don't know why someone would try to pull this stunt. Ebay almost always sides with THE BUYER. So does PayPal.

Years ago I purchased a fake on EBAY. I filed a case, and it took months to resolve, and eBay's reasoning for the delay was always it was being reviewed by an expert. After 9 months, I opened a case against eBay with the Better Business Beurau, which helped resolve my case in my favor. I hope their process and is faster now. If they don't respond, keep pushing. I hope you get your $ back!

I got scammed also 1500.- in April when buying a CC bag from FB that I never received:-( no refund. No nothing. Police never found the seller.

I hope you pursue this issue till you’re satisfied. eBay should not enable this to go on. It’s terrible that people can sell rip offs. There is a market for ‘dupes’ and therefore should be marketed that way, NOT as a genuine product. I feel for you and wish you good luck w this one. Also, RUclips should support you w this. 🙏🏻
