Thank you so much your videos are AMAZING!! The content is informative and directly to the point, exactly what I need. I wish I would have stumbled over your videos when I was preparing to take my NCLEC, it would have made my studies a lot easier. Now I’m preparing to go for my state practicals, by any chance could you demonstrate more fluorescence patterns, fitting, etc…?

Hi! I really appreciate the kind words. Honestly, I will be adding more videos over the next few months - but it may be after your practical. Thanks for the topic suggestions, I will be sure to incorporate these into the mix. Enjoy the day!

This may be a silly question but if an axis is at 120 exactly is that considered WTR? Meaning oblique is really 121-149 degrees or 31-59 degrees?

      Not a silly question!
Oblique corneas have their steepest meridian between 31-59 and 121-149, as you have stated.
With that being said, it is highly unlikely that you would encounter a question where the axis was 150, 120 etc…
Thanks for the great question! 😃

Hello, new to your channel and definitely motivated to learn more. Is there a book you recommend that can help study for NCLE certification

      Thanks for watching!
Honestly, the best NCLE book for study is going to be the CLSA contact lens manual. You can use that book and pass the exam. Of course, you’ll also want to watch these neat-o videos 😁

Confused with your explanation regarding astigmatism wtr. around the top of the 90
    Axis.
Isn’t that against the rule? With the rule falls closer to the 180.

WTR means that the cornea is steepest (think stronger + diopter) near the 90.
You would use a stronger minus lens to “neutralize” this steeper meridian of the cornea.
So in minus cyl for your RX would be near the 180 axis.
      Ex. -1.00 -1.00 x 180 transposes to -2.00 @ 090
We need the “stronger” -2 near the WTR steep 90 cornea.
Hope this makes sense… thank you for watching!

@@nclecontactlenstraining if go to time stamp 11:07 you state atr
      is 180-150
120-60 is wtr I think you have it backwards. 180-150 is wtd and 120-60 is wtr ..right?

🤯 = The reason I have this channel!
Sometimes it’s hard for concepts to sink in just reading from a textbook 📚
Thank you so much for subscribing! I really appreciate it.
