i grew up in queens ny and we used to call that skinny sausage with cheese and parsley..i must say in my opinion that is the most tasty sausage i ever ate..i moved to florida in the 2000s and was lucky enough to find a italain pork store that sell that type of sausage..it is awesome on the grill aswell
This looks fantastic. Around here, our local sausage company is Ostrowski's. Kielbasa and Italian sausage. They are in little Italy, and this time of year, the line stretches for 3 city blocks. It is so worth it.
THANKS DADDY JACK, YOUR THE BEST. HERE IN MILWAUKEE WE HAVE MANY TYPES OF SAUSAGE. I BUY MY POLISH SAUSAGE FROM THE SAME SHOP THAT MY GRANDPA GOT HIS 80 YEARS AGO. THEY ALWAYS HAVE A PIG HANGING IN THE COOLER. I LOVED SEEING YOU AND YOUR BUDDIES EATING AT THE TABLE TOGETHER...Fantastic...!!!
Jack thanks for sharing. This looks simply delicious. This is one of my favourite video's you have ever done. Cheers from Harry in Kingston, Ontario Canada. Keep up the great work.
Wow, a rare glimpse of the "other side of the kitchen". It would be really cool if you could give a quick walk around of where all the magic happens Daddy Jack. A quick description of the tools of your trade would be awesome too, as if you didn't have anything better to do :) Love your videos.
I have watched so many and tried so many of your recipes. All of which were fantastic by the way. Not sure what I will do with my flour and corn starch now. I only thicken with butter as you showed us. Reductions and butter. The flavours are so intense. From Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada, thanks to Daddy Jack for the fabulous food and great entertainment. Looking forward to seeing your new recipes when we all finally get back to normal again. Take care and be healthy and safe.
I just got off of the phone with Orsini's. Great place to do business with. Thanks for the recommendation. If you make your way to Salt Lake, I offered to you and Orsini's that I'll make you dinner, following one of your recipes.
Looks fantastic!! I make the sausage pinwheel all the time on the grill!! Yes the broccoli rab purists do not boil. I started boiling just for a few minutes it makes it tender.
Wow that looks awesome Jack! I've always used a splash of sherry wine once i browned the sausage but i'm gonna try the chicken broth tonight! Brocolli Rabe $3.99 lb in Cali. same as gas $ lol! Been w/ you since the beginning great videos!
I knew Jack would never let that fond in the bottom of that pan go to waste! I always deglaze, even if I'm not using the drippings right then. I label em and freeze em. The way things are going right now, we might need every bit of everything we can get or hands on.
You're sounding old school now Theresa! Waste Not Want Not! Things Are Getting Depression Era Scary, Time to economize! I learned from the best, My Mother! I'll be doing a few of that type of recipe soon. Good Gravy, Jack
@@CookingWithTheBlues You know I will be looking forward to those videos, Jack! And yes. I sure am old school, I learned standing by my Nonna's side as she cooked amazing foods...sometimes seemingly out of nothing! My brother & I would still take a bowl of her Pasta Fagiole over the biggest, fattest steak in town. And that's the truth! Carry on friend, you're doing great work! God Bless, Tess
I do not blanch mine first I like the bitterness, that's why I eat it. I use lots of sliced garlic (nice and golden) and a touch of red pepper flakes, finish it with my best EVOO and BAM!
Sweet !!!! Big oval platter to serve so ya got room to do your thing , nothing worse than a small plate . I know it's just for the vid chef . I would order that in a heartbeat with a loaf of warm Italian bread yikes ! Good stuff and local ..... Rock on chef .....
I love the sound of aluminum pans on the stove. It doesn't have that high-pitch ring that steel has when hit or scraped. You could make some of those long ASMR videos that are trendy these days of just the sounds in your restaurant kitchen.
Daddy Jack, can we find that Orsini Sausage in Shop Rite, or Stop & Shop? How about Stew Leonard's? Looks delicious. I'm always looking for sausage that isn't fatty.
Cooking with the Blues I’m assuming they do internet orders, I’ll have to google them and place an order. The Mrs would love the sweet fennel garlic, I don’t even have to ask her. Sounds so good
Nice video but I was expecting to see the sausage being made. Damn, all these other Italian sausage recipes are either hot,or the sweet variety. I wanna see some different sausage types. Man that food looks great. If anyone has any recipes please send.
he's a big man but got fat fingers like charles, water retention due to lack of movement ironically I'd hazard a guess this was the ontly time he moved his upper limbs. No disrespect just my experience.
