As a truck driver, we never leave high-valued loads. Liquor, money, beer...the driver never leaves the load unattended. He should have backed it up against a building, against a light pole, or in a dock. Makes me think he's involved because he knows not to leave a load of money unattended.
Most Truck drivers are not Government contracted drivers! They often route there route if they can, will and often sleep at home if destination route can take them, they will and also many of these drivers are never told what is in there cargo for safety reasons as well as for theft! No need to tell the drivers! Those locks can only get opened by law enforcement or the destination! And so most likely the driver really has no clue what they are halling, ONLY THAT IT IS LEGAL TO HAUL and so they haul! Insurance will cover all damage etc! Let the investigators figure this one out but my best guess it was someone from dispatch? Catch & lock them up!
There are Armored trucks carrying less money than that that aren’t left unattended at all. Truck driver was bonehead, especially if heard about the problem with trucks being broken into around there.
No you're wrong that's not where he chose to sleep that's where he chose to park a semi truck full of money then he drove away and slept in a motel or something and waited for his accomplices to give him his portion of the money
anybody else hearing Slim Pickens in the movie Blazing Saddles hollering that somebody has to go get a shit-load of dimes ? .... wondering if Im watching entirety too much TV.....
Should have been a team truck with a no layover. Only stop for breaks and fuel and driver switch. Never leave truck unattended. Never park in a unsecured parking lot.
Great. Now we gonna be short on dimes here in Florida. Who the hell loads up thousands of dollars worth of dimes then parks at Wal-Mart and leaves the load alone. Wtf
red button indeed. "region that also netted the thieves frozen crab legs, shrimp, meat, beer and liquor. Detectives said at the time that surveillance video showed six men, dressed in gray hoodies and armed with bolt cutters, approaching the truck in the middle of the night and breaking into it, then loading the coins into smaller bags and into a waiting truck. The indictment unsealed Friday alleges that after the theft, thousands of dimes were converted into cash at coin machines in Maryland or through deposits to at least four different suburban Philadelphia banks, the newspaper reported. Four Philadelphia men - 25-year-old Rakiem Savage, 31-year-old Ronald Byrd, 30-year-old Haneef Palmer and 32-year-old Malik Palmer - face conspiracy, robbery, theft of government money and other charges."
You know how long it would take to fence 2 million dimes? They'll never actually see that money and they'll end up getting caught trying to change it for larger bills.
Nah, my grandma had buckets of change that we would roll up into paper. Just have a woman disguised as an old granny with make up and prosthetics, have a few rolls of other change and ramble on about your grandchildren and you had to keep those like terrors busy or they'd tear the house apart; so you had them roll up change with the promise that they would get a %10 piece of the action. Then old Granny could make rounds of a whole plethora of suburban and rural banks, cashing in all the dimes rolls by rolls, probably make about $500 an hour, then switch up to the automatic change to bill machines. It could all be laundered in a fortnight if done systematically without hesitation.
JASMINE WATERS KNOWS WHAT'S UP HONESTLY ID GUESS THAT TRUCK DRIVER MIGHT HAVE ACTUALLY SAVED THEIR OWN LIFE BY NOT SLEEPING IN THAT TRUCK HE / SHE MIGHT HAVE BEEN A CASUALTY IF THEY HAD
Yeah that truck driver was Definitely in on that I said that when it first happened that's ur job to protect ur load and he did the total opposite I wonder if he's still employed??
Inside job someone in shipping or someone knowing told someone ! Otherwise he should of loaded in the morning and after loaded it was his responsibility

The driver had to be in on it
You trying to 'drop the dime' on the driver?!😅
🤣🤣🤣@@downallyourstreets
I wonder who, dropped the dime?
There are Armored trucks carrying less money than that that aren’t left unattended at all. Truck driver was bonehead, especially if heard about the problem with trucks being broken into around there.
INSIDE job
Has to be a inside job how else would they know what was in the truck?? A lock that you can cut with a bolt cutter???
How do you transport thousands of dollars from the US mint and then pick South Philly out of all possible places to sleep?
because its an inside job, you dont leave 200k from the us mint in the back of a parking lot and leave. its clearly a inside job
Blame the thieves. Not the truck driver.
@@Nate-pv8loperhaps 😅
That thing look like a large gift box
wasnt North Philly
No you're wrong that's not where he chose to sleep that's where he chose to park a semi truck full of money then he drove away and slept in a motel or something and waited for his accomplices to give him his portion of the money
That IS wierd, that out of all things a trucker would leave behind, would be something on a federal level. Especially with that magnitude
If it were in the 80s, I could buy a lot of boxes of Lemon Heads. A small box was only a dime back then.
my first thought was payphones used to be a dime. i remember when i was so poor i had to borrow a dime to call home collect.
@@rosemaryus-ct6151 That would be a lot of phone calls. In my age, our payphones were 25 cents. That's a 15 cents more inflation for a phone call 😞
You can buy a nice home with that much dimes. I wonder if the seller would be suspicious with the transaction.
Yes you are correct that would be equivalent to $200,000
That’ll buy you a nice house in 2015.
@@TheIntJuggler where you live lol
@@TheIntJuggler It will buy you a nice house anywhere that isn't a liberal s-hole...
They keep saying they don't know who stole the dimes and the title is 4 charged...great journalism guys!
I saw that too!! BS.
Being charged with a crime doesn't make you guilty
uh yeah, what does that have to do with my comment?@@ph-vf5hx
Why would you leave a truck with that much money all by itself overnight in a parking lot? And how did they know there was money inside ?
Reminds me of Slim Pickens needing a bunch of dimes for the toll booth.
anybody else hearing Slim Pickens in the movie Blazing Saddles hollering that somebody has to go get a shit-load of dimes ? ....

this is what I've always pictured when I heard "march of dimes"
Truck Driver knows who took the coins, inside job for sure.
If that were all silver dimes it would be worth millions.
Should have been a team truck with a no layover. Only stop for breaks and fuel and driver switch. Never leave truck unattended. Never park in a unsecured parking lot.
The driver better hope they don’t drop the dime on him when they get caught
😅 Boom Tis 🥁
the truck driver is in on it that's why he left the truck.
Great. Now we gonna be short on dimes here in Florida. Who the hell loads up thousands of dollars worth of dimes then parks at Wal-Mart and leaves the load alone. Wtf
They took it to coin star and got busted trying to cash out $200,000 at the grocery store 😂
where did you get all these dimes sir
That would be extremely heavy! Geez.
just over 4.5 tonnes
Somebody's got a go back and get a shitload a Dimes!
"Brother can you spare a Dime?"
Trucking 101= never go load up and go home on break. It only takes once to learn. Always go home empty.
Sounds fishy...
Is this an old news report? I remember something similar happened a few months ago? Was this a second theft of dimes?
Yep. It happened in the same place too. North Philadelphia.
lol, who leaves 3/4 of a million dollars in an unguarded trailer in a parking lot?...LOL
wow 10K pounds of dimes. police should be on the lookout for a group of people taking lots of motrin.
😂😂😂
The trucker in a couple of weeks : Yeah so i bought this house and a new car 😀
- Cops : 🧐
At least the thieve (s) now have two dimes to rub together…😂
Someone knew the dimes were there because it’s not the first time
Didn't this just happen six months ago?
The idiots in this case are the people that stole the money. Only an idiot would break into a place just to steal dimes.
2million dimes? tf who are these amateurs , that ain shit
Unreal
You’d think someone trying to spend huge amounts of dimes would be easy to spot
You're not sleeping in your truck? Inside job.

what kind of dingdong steals a literal truck load of dimes and then deposits them in his bank account?
200,000 usa dollars =2million dimes
Imagine how many rare dimes are in $200,000 worth!
None. They came directly from the Mint, genius.
