    That thing runs so smooth! I have a 1942 Ford Super Deluxe Business Coupe that I just got home in. Took a nice day after Christmas Sunday drive! Was so nice. Went to the local park and took a walk and had a one man car show with several people wanting to know about the car. Of course, that is a part of the fun!

    Great video and thanks for posting, great looking car and looks like a lot of fun. I have a '29 Packard and I'm always befuddled by the Model A guys who never cease to claim that they cruise with their cars at 55-60 mph, and they get huffy when I ask them how!

    Beautiful car.
    I've got a Model A Fordor Town Sedan with a Model B engine in it here in Australia, almost the same color as yours. That sound is so familiar.
    Thanks for taking us for a drive around your lovely town.

      It has a muffler, it’s not as bad as it sounds. But it is definitely louder than the cars of today.

    That was fun, thanks for the ride! Really nice view out over the hood. I think, from the engine cranking speed, and the CB radio, that it has a 12 volt system - good guess? I know that Model B indicates the 4 cylinder engine, and wasn't it a 1932 only model? Were there other differences from the V8 cars?

    • @32modelbford39
      @32modelbford39  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video! You are correct, my car was converted over to a 12volt system… good guess!!👍🏻 The Model B was Ford’s 4cyl version of the 1932 line with the new V8! The Model B was a good option for customers that wanted the new slick “Aerodynamic” body style with the comfort of the dependable tried and true 4 cylinder of the model A… the main differences moving forward from the Model A in 1932 was other than the obvious new V8 was the new body styling which moved the gas tank from the front of the car to the rear of the car!

    Their were two engine options, 4cyl and V8. I'm inclined to think this is a 4 cylinder?

    It would have been great if you had taken a quick tour of the car for those of us who are not familiar or may never have seen one. Open the hood and the back let us see the full interior and look around and get a good close look at the dash Etc. Thanks for preserving and posting this piece of History.

    Could you realistically have one of these as your only car? After COVID I went full remote work and drove 1200 miles last year.

    • @32modelbford39
      @32modelbford39  2 года назад +2

      I think so, only drawback is they require a lot of attention to keep them running good compared to modern cars… but it’s reliability is better than what you would think.. Thanks for watching and the question!👊🏻

    1932 was when Ford made the first affordable V8 vehicle, making it more powerful than the four-cylinder!

    Model a vs b is not a engine change as much as a model change. Model b introduces a slightly new design but newer technology. New engine choices new features.
    It doesn't indicate it has a v8. Though the v8 was now an option.

    If I was buying a new Ford in 1932 I am pretty sure that I would have bought the Model B four cylinder with 50 HP, I believe, 10 more than the Model A. The B was an improved A and not a brand new design which the V8 was. Brand new designs often need to be proven in customer use and may need a little more work. The B was likely less expensive than the V8 as well.

    • @32modelbford39
      @32modelbford39  4 месяца назад

      Thank you for watching! Yes, I agree I probably would have bought a B as well, I would have wanted them to work all the issues out of the V8 before buying one, and from what I’ve read about the V8 there were quite a few issues at first, but still a good idea and engine for the time.

      Their car was a V8, this one is the 4 cylinder model, I usually cruise around 40mph, that is plenty fast enough for this old Ford! Thanks for watching!!👊🏻
