2 years for NTSB to figure out what happened to the ship. get a chief engineer and 2 diesel mechanics they'll find out what happened to that ship in a few hours. NTSB can have the "Black Box" they dont need it.
If you monitor this, you may wish to look at the "VB 10 000" ship. This crane is currenly in St Simons sound in Georgia and is litterally 10 times greaater power to lift than the small 1000 tonne crane the politicians are discussing. (which I beleive is the Chesapeake 1000 which does not broadcast AIS). This crane may not be suited for initial work because it an an arch over what it is meant to lft (it has lifted portions o sunken ships), but once a portion f bridge is remove, it can saddle over other portions and lift them up and move them away.

Loss of power > loss of steering... they tried to stop, sent a mayday, use the anchor, but it was not enough.
Anchor chain effect with no control of rudder will make it turn slightly.
