It's time to start exploring Gran Canaria! In today's video we're going to the picturesque town of Puerto de Mogán which is a popular tourist destination with a lot of gorgeous flowers. If only the weather stayed pleasant as we move to the Maspalomas Dunes. It was so windy there was sand flying everywhere!

Those streets with so many flowers in Modan were really something....so was your perseverance with the wind on the sand guys. I applaud your determination to be positive about even the more challenging conditions as the wind almost tore Tommy's shirt off his back 😊. Gorgeous views as always though guys ❤
Mogán was much more enjoyable than the Dunes of Maspalomas, haha 😁 Windy weather is definitely not something that we like. But in the end it made for an unforgettable day 😀
Guys, right now I want to move to Mogá and live in one of those small houses in those narrow streets. It's a delight just to think about it. My cat Roque would look perfect there, sleeping at the door of my house.
Please Tommy don't get infected by the spoiled Peter and stand there on that wall that communicates with nothingness itself. That drives me mental. Lol.

Tommy is getting brave with the heights, but that particular wall wasn't that bad, there were some shrubs behind it. It just looked like there was nothing 😜

Same latitude as Florida and the water is cold! Also amazing that you can have such arid conditions with so much water.
Yes, interesting how Earth works. Maybe it's more similar to California. There are often colder ocean currents on the western side of continents and more high pressure zones, which don't generate much precipitation. Canary Islands are close to north-west Africa. But it also depends on which side of the island you are on - there are also greener areas. We'll show next time 😉
Another great video. This place is fascinating and beautiful even though the weather is somewhat crazy. Love the bougainvillea blossoms everywhere. There is such a variety of colors. They do grow in this area in spite of the amount of rainfall we get. The occasional freezing weather we get does kill off some of them. They were plentiful and very large in areas of South Africa when I visited there. Thanks for taking me along on this great vacation area. Take care and be safe. Tony

Thanks for the BEAUTIFUL video of the Island😊 I love Peter’s “ finger-toes” 😂 The blowing sand scenery reminded me of one of my favorite movies “ Lawerence of Arabia” .. The Big Island in Hawaii has many similar island traits, but no blowing sand, just many,many orchids..❤

I've stood at the Mirador Astronomico , amazing view point.. Ah you walked through the Riu hotel to the dunes, and yes the sand was over the path last year when i walked along it.. Glad you had a great day ..

I couldn't believe how windy it was!! Peter, you were very brave to venture into the Atlantic. You guys are so funny....never a dull moment, just fun, fun, fun. The dunes were amazing....like waves of sand in the flatter areas. Thank you always for sharing the new places and the adventures with us.

Gran Canaria continues to impress me! It shares many similarities to my desert paradise of Palm Springs USA including beautiful flowers / bougainvillea, palm trees, and wind storms with blowing desert sand, and lots of gay people. 🌴🌵🌈Enjoy the adventure Peter and Tommy🤗👍

We go to Mogan every year, and recently discovered an archeological dig, we think it's worth a visit. There are two on the island. The second dog is further north.
Hi Tracy, you are right. We noticed the archeological place on the map and saw it when we were at the first lookout point above Mogan. But we didn't visit. Maybe next time 😊

Yes, we got quite unlucky with the weather during our one week long vacation. Almost every day it was windy. It must be lovely on the beach when it's calmer. Luckily we found various places over the island where we could hide from the wind. Mainly various ravines (barranco) which we'll show in upcoming videos (one is already published) 😊
