Mesmerizing guitar player, thats all fox! Im selling my Gibson ES175D Joe played on my guitar you can check on Ebay Price negotiable here is link: www.ebay.com/i...
There are times where I learn or realize something new when playing…..and I think “hey I’m really advancing here”….and then I come to Dr Pass and realize I’m just a very basic apprentice of the instrument even after over 40 years. I can’t even comprehend how one can fit all this knowledge in one’s mind and then have the skill to churn it out at will.
There will never be another Joe Pass.... A rare once in a lifetime master! The 17 thumbs down obviously came from people that have no idea what a legend looks or sounds like!
slnolefan you so rite about those morons who completely blind and don’t understand basic concepts about jazz guitar and they basically jealous of Joe Pass Gods giving talent and I bet you non of this people can’t even play a basic C maj scale!
I used to listen to RUclips videos while skateboarding to work. Many times I would accidentally downvote my favorite albums. It’s possible nearly all were accidents.
That's the original Joe Pass Model by Ibanez. Joe Pass brought the solo jazz guitar to another level. He could bop with Oscar Peterson and back Ella Fitzgerald. Just so musical.
I went to a Joe Pass workshop/concert at one point he blazed thru a flurry of single note leads then stopped and said " I can't play fast but i can play that fast all night long " . a master indeed !
Joe Pass was a gifted guitarist. He could play whatever came to his mind. His solo unaccompanied playing was always a pleasure to hear. Probably my all-time favorite
What strikes me when I watch this man play is how fluid and effortless every motion is purposed, no wasted energy. Right down to his swaying, rocking and facial expressions. He becomes one with the guitar and it is revealed by what our eyes see and our ears hear. He was the best IMHO...
I saw him at the King of France Tavern in Annapolis MD, back in the early '90s, there were maybe 10 other people in the room. I'll never forget it. I grew up idolizing Santana. then when I got older, I realized he was just a waste of time...but Joe Pass, I come back to his music and everytime, it's beautiful and otherworldly.Thank you Joe .
Chops coming out his ears😂That was like a piano😆😅😍👍🏻❤️Amazing love Joe and his sense of humour too..His hot licks video he says “people transcribe my glitches”😅
He was the greatest, swingingest, Out Of This World guitar player in My Life time. Have studied him for years, and am still not even close to what he could do on a moments notice. Gos given Genius on the instrument..Loved him.
First time round for this one for me.just simply awe inspiring for those of a certain vintage. The "I'm in control " with everything, just simply demoralizing and bewildering technique, just the best,EVER !!!!! Martin Taylor will never forgive me. Ian Morrison
Indeed! Rhythm, first of all, is a gift of God! Secondly, it can't be imparted, you either have it or you don't! Rhythm is in your heart and soul, and flows through your veins in everything you do!!!
Wow, amazing. Joe is my favorite musician ever. I gotta transcribe this. It's short enough and has tons of great moments. It seems like a very similar but a much shorter version than the "Blues in G" from the "Blues Dues: Live at Long Beach City College" album. The same head but only 3:02 long instead of 7:05 long. Joe really is the president of bebop guitar. His legacy lives on.
Fantastic clip, one more which shows Joe was probably a alien( the way he masters the pick without being so familiar with it makes me think he really was...)
At 1.37 his left hand is strong enough to sound chords. He would often use single finger attack to sound unpicked notes but getting the same volume with chords is impressive.
Oh yeah I’m just gonna lift up my picking hand and just keep the chords and groove moving right along for a few measures. Insane. True legend of jazz guitar.
In the 70s Ella Fitzgerald was touring eith her band across the world. That band was Joe Pass!
Whenever I think I can play guitar, I just listen to Joe. And then come back down to earth where I belong.
Me too lol me too😂

Of another universe this man.
basically he is an encyclopedia of musical ideas and he weaves them together with total mastery and artistry. It is stunning to behold.
playing for a long time will do that to you
He makes the impossible look so easy! A real genius and master.
Joe Pass swings better than any other jazz guitarist I have ever heard. It just breaks gravity...

He was great no matter what he played! R.I.P. Joe Pass 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
And he hasn't even taken his jacket off yet.
When he does and rolls up his sleeves someone's going to lose an eye!!!
