  • @Laffkin
    @Laffkin Год назад +20

    It looks like the big boat has some cooling problems. A couple of minutes before her engine stopped, you can see that a water stream from the cooling system is absent but it was there before. It looks like it overheated and seized - that typical sound of stopping an engine when the internal friction overwhelms the resulting power. You can hear that the starter clangs without any success afterwards. And during the last try you may notice little steam from water exhaust and all out of the engine compartment. I believe this trip is the last for this engine and it will require a whole overhaul.

    English below.
    Nước chảy rất nhanh ở những cống hẹp như vầy. Tàu thuyền qua những cống nầy luôn gặp nguy hiểm, khó khăn, đặc biệt khi chúng phải đi ngược nước. Tui đề nghị dựng 1 hay 2 cột khoảng 200 m phía trên cống, rồi từ những cột nầy, dùng dây cáp kéo các tàu thuyền giúp chúng qua cống. Như vậy sẽ giúp điều khiển tàu thuyền tốt hơn (bớt tai nạn), và loại bỏ luôn khó khăn do dòng nước chảy nhanh, mạnh.
    =========
    The water current is very fast around these narrow gates. Passing through those gates is always difficult and dangerous for the boats, especially if they have to go against the current. I'd suggest 1 or 2 piers be put about 200 m upstream of the gates; and from those piers, cables be used to pull the boats through the gates. That would make better control of the boats (fewer accidents) and eliminate problems with the strong water currents.

    • @NavyVet4955
      @NavyVet4955 11 месяцев назад +1

      While a reasonable idea the time involved for each boat to connect to the cables, pull the boat, disconnect the cables and return them to the next boat will take way to long.

    • @HienNguyen-ni7es
      @HienNguyen-ni7es 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@NavyVet4955 -- "disconnect the cables and return them to the next boat will take way to long" -- No, if several cable-boat-connect sets are available in stand-by
      "the time involved for each boat to connect to the cables, pull the boat, .... will take way to long." -- No; if all participating boats have 3 lugs at the front (for use with cables and hooks; 3 for easy control). If the boats don't have lugs or handy grooves for easy use with the hooks, a "slap-on" device could be use to quickly connect the boat front to the cables for pulling.

    From what I could see, it looked like the boats that were overloaded and had water over the gunnels, had the most trouble on the upstream side of the bridge where the current narrowed and got stronger and the engines just didn't have the power to push thru.
