    wow, love this. It looks so effortless when you play it, how do you memorize all those notes and the rhythm appears so challenging. Thanks so much for your recordings. Very inspiring.

      @@HazelNguyen I think that it is so amazing how we can bee so connected as pianists. I mean one pianist might say something, but we tend to feel the same. It is so cool how we all can relate to each other in a such a great way. and we all have something that we can end the day to. That is talking with each other and hearing what the other has been doing and working on. Commenting and beeing a support system for our fellow pianists. We can so relate to each other’s joys and struggles as we continue to do our work. And their are things that nobody knows that only pianists can relate to. Such as this. People know that we are playing the piano all of the time, but little do they know is that as a pianist we actually have high standards and requirements that other people are not expected to do. We are the ones to get everyone’s work. And I am talking musicians. Lol!!! We get all the work. And we are the type of people that have unique personalities. The other thing is that people don’t know about us is that we have split personality. This is a good thing. Our split personalities are the first half of us, we are in our house clothes playing at home or dressing up to get to the studio. The other side of us is concerts and performance time. We are going from a family male or female getting into concert attire. So we can either bee relaxed when people see us, or we can bee very very formal. But we are always working from the time the sun goes up and when it goes down.whether acoustic or digital pianos we are always playing one of them.

    No way! I used to play this a long long time ago. And now im finally getting round to doing the Grade 8 I should have done when i was younger it's probably been and gone on the syllabus?! Im surprised this is considered Gd.8 standard tbh, I love Gershwin but this is prob the easiest piece he ever wrote 😂

    What's with the jump cuts?

    • @paulmichael8796
      @paulmichael8796 Месяц назад

      I've seen this in a few of her videos but I'm fairly sure she just cuts out ugly page turns, rather than splicing together different performances. Saying that, she's a busy teacher and performer, learns these pieces in a couple of hours and records them when the rest of us take months so I'm not mad if that's what she's doing anyway

    I am not a fan of arpeggiated left hand bass. A much better and more acceptable to the listener would be to keep the bass solid, i.e. by adding the right hand if the left alone cannot stretch the full width, and arpeggiating the remaining right hand notes of the melody. This is commonly done on other instruments such as guitar or violin and sounds great!

      I think you're going to have to time travel and tell Gershwin you don't like his arrangement. While you're at it, maybe there are some parts of the melody that need to be rewritten.
