Valve has a Skill Issue

  • Valve is a reputation-based company. When money isn't a concern, the primary motivator that you have to look at is what makes them look and feel good? When some teenagers did Portal better than Valve was doing in 2008, they were reinvigorated and made Portal 2. When people booed Artifact and new hires asked old devs what they even did there, Half-Life Alyx was born.
So why does Valve continue to tank the embarrassment of their own treatment of their Online Service games? Why was Left 4 Dead 2 left to die with DDOS attacks for years? Why was Counter-Strike 2 released so unfinished and peppered with cheaters and bugs? Most importantly for today: Why won't Valve address Team Fortress 2's botting problem?
While I don't have an answer for you, I DO have a question to pose to Valve: If Valve as a company only hires like-minded industry veterans with no less than a decade of industry experience a-piece, why won't anyone even give fixing the problem a shot? It genuinely cannot get much worse than this, so what do you have to lose?
I've seen what this company can do at its best. I've seen active developers and moderation from Valve. I've seen cheaters and toxic players and bad apples kicked and banned for their behavior first-hand. I've even seen the kind of love and reverence some devs have for their projects. I know these devs are better than this. Fix TF2. Or at least give it a shot.

Its not just the TF2 bot problem, its the fact that the Orange Box/SteamPipe branch of the Source engine is "The New IE 6"!

TF2 players will do literally anything besides play community servers and go to therapy. TeamworkTF reports less than 20k actual players, not even 8k actually playing casual.
    Dead game lol

@@wolfcl0ck No like I'm seriously just like, let the game rest. It's been dead for years now and people need to move on.

Question: how can a game be both dead and have so many people playing in it? Seems a bit contradictory.

@@Cats-TM I think a game that has more than half of it's playerbase just being bots, whose matchmaking is literally unplayable, and has not had a content update from the developer for literally years is *dead*, and so does the rest of gaming.
Why do TF2 players even reply with this shit still? If the game isn't dead or dying then there's no reason for the SaveTF2/FixTF2 nonsense, yet none of you guys are saying that to them, you're only saying it to people who say the game is dead.
Games die. Move on to something else or learn how to play community servers.

@@lainamitclaire You keep using that term. I do not think it means what you think it means.
