Enjoying the videos a lot. My dad and I are about to take the injection pump off our R model Mack because when you start it it tries to run away. These videos are like a preview to what I'm going to be doing for the first time.
Thanks for the video, definitely a confidence booster for someone considering doing their own work. Slow and steady and doing your homework first counts.
Wow, you are a trooper for chasing and following through on this one. Not sure if you've bitten off more than you care to swallow, but I'm interested in sticking along to see how all these repairs come out. Good luck!
Great video this will come in handy for me as the cheap T6030 we bought last year is abit sluggish. We have wound the power screw in a little but it still lacks power at the top of the rev range.
I’ve just done this job on my Australian delivered ts115a. Everything looks the same, and comes apart the same until you try to pull the pump off. Mine has a plate on the other side of the casting, almost under the cab, remove the plate, and there is a 21mm nut to remove from the shaft, then I had to make a plate to go across the shaft with 2 bolt holes, for a puller to get the drive gear off the injector pump shaft because the drive gear on mine is approximately 120mm diameter and can’t come out with the pump. It all has to be done by feel, I used cardboard to make impressions of the bolt heads to get my puller plate the right size. If you have to do it like this, I recommend you get high tensile bolts, I bent my plate and stretched one of my bolts, if that bolt had broken, I would have been in the shit, possibly need to lift the cab to get it out.
I would definitely replace that lift pump to I've heard if they start to go bad it will starve the injection pump for fuel had that happen on a dump truck with a Cummins in it one time ended up replacing both.had one go bad on a newholland TL90A with low hrs it just quit running looks like same exact pump. Great video thanks for posting can't wait to see it finished!
I like the gentleman at the IP shop already. Our TS110 has an electric lift pump instead. So now I'm wondering if one of those oil pressure shutdown switches could be made to work on the line between the pumps to just kill the engine when fuel pressure drops there? Save the next IP? Cheap insurance no matter what it costs, really. If you are thinking about going electric can I recommend a E8057 subaru pump? It's an on demand thumper with points and coil on one end and pump on the other, when pressure has been achieved, it quits thumping. And thereby one knows you have 7 PSI fuel pressure by instant feedback. 50$ and that will compete nicely with the mechanical at dealer prices.
Your engine looks like the one on my backhoe bl110b 4cyl? I have a question sir how do you know which pump is bad or if the injectors are bad thanks reallly Appreciate you explaining every step helps a lot to understand
agree that if u suspect something may have gotten clogged somewhere in the injection system you may as well rebuild the injectors as well as the pump, nobody would want to have to tear it back apart, as well I like how your taking a tractor that may not have had an easy life and giving it the attention that's likely to have been long overdue soo it has a good chance at a long second life
dont worry if it wasn't a good deal, the important thing is this: now you have a decent tractor and it will be fixed soon. everything will be fixed by you, and this should make you proud of yourself
i know, but we cannot always have what we want, sadly. sometime because of us, sometime because of other people not being fair at all. this thing happened to me a bounch of times, its frustrating but we need to go on. and do everything we can to not make it happen again ahaha
Great videos! I have my own TS 115a issues. It was losing power when working ground the other day and I thought they ran it low on fuel. I fought getting it started, but after bleeding at the injectors I got it started. It will idle for several minutes, but it will not throttle up. Any ideas? I'm leaning toward IP issues.
This was an interesting video of the injection pump removal. Didn't realize you need to lock in both the TDC of #1 and lock in the injection pump. I guess you do learn something everyday.
Need to use a suitable tool to pin time engine. Maybe a inverted drill bit or rod of the right size. A Phillips screw driver @ 6.26 in your video is not going to get it dead on. Pin must accurately stop the flywheel in place.
I have never seen a pump with a locking bolt, all the engines I have worked on have had a drive shaft with one spline that is extra wide so that it only goes in one position. you can pull the injection pump in any position and when it goes back you can rotate the engine or pump to get the spline to slide in and as long as the scribe mark on the engine is aligned with the one on the pump the timing is dead on. I supose it is done different in the US or is that just that make of tractor.
Good video looks as if you didn't have much room to work in, here in the UK we call vice grips Mole Grips they are very handy things to have in a toolbox.
I recently purchased a Massey 85, it was advertised as "work ready". I've done nothing but work on for a few weekends getting it ready to go. None of the gauges worked when I got it, once I got the new gauges all hooked up, found out that she has about 2 psi of oil pressure to the engine. :(
+Steel Shooter it was work ready- ready for you to work on it! Don't feel too bad, I was promised the biggest issue with my NH before I bought it was a weeping axle seal.
Looks to me like someone has had the pump off before, when they come out of the factory one of the bolts that hold the pump to the engine (top left one) is a special security bolt, whereas on your tractor it has got a normal bolt in place, but I could be wrong
DID YOU BUY PRIVATE OR FROM A DEALER? GREAT VID. HELL WITH MY FIXES I ALWAYS HAVE LEFT OVER PARTS, MISSED SOMETHING SOMEWHERE, GREAT TO SEE YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING TO FIX THIS.
I bought a 755 back hoe and had the motor run away on me, managed to ram a shirt into intake and save the motor but had to do the pump and did the injectors just cause, WHeat City Diesel did them all in just over 2 weeks, love your detail in yer vids, cheers.
I am currently working on an injection pump on a ts115a and I have everything unbolted and lose but the pump doesn't want to come out. Any suggestions?
There is a plate on the back of the engine block behind the pump facing the cab. Remove that and see if you can work the pump loose, there is a special tool that goes in there to push it out that you might need. I didn’t need it for mine, but others may.
+Donald Ellett It could run $1,000 and up depending on the exact problems found. I expect the minimum to be around $1200 but it could go as high as 4K.
Man, I'm so sorry you are going through all of this effort to get that machine running again. So I am wondering if this number of problems is a result of hard work by the machine, poor manufacture of certain parts, poor maintenance or cheap materials on the machine. I guess I am asking if lower priced New Holland tractors are worth buying? Also, I think you are wearing the correct cap!
+Michael Chugg I don't have any problem with NH tractors, I think any of the big name manufacturers build a good machine. Dealer support is the most important, but I have a video on all that coming as soon as I get the 6410 out of the field.
Did you once say that that this was from a dairy farm? Any tractor from a dairy farm would be in rough shape. Good deal though that you know how to fix it. I had a 6430 Deere that had 9000 hours, a dead cylinder in a 4 cyl engine, loader pin broken on lift cylinder the day before the trade came in. Lol good job at 5k subs! Best wishes
I watched this video which was great but did not show where and how many oil rings where to be used. There are groves for two but when you removed the injector I only saw 1 O ring on the injector. Help. I just paid 2 thousand dollars for 4 brothers tractor garage to fix my TRactor. They failed returned it to me still not working. They did not put o rings on the injectors Out of money I have a neighbor helping me check there work. I am relying on these videos to see if I can fix it. The garage did not put o rings on the injectors. My tractor is a New Holland T4.75 Powerstar.
First thing you should do is blow all the dirt off the head around the injectors. NEVER EVER bend an injection line. The passage inside them is very small and can be damaged easily. Bending one can even cause an engine miss.
Our tractor has what I believe to be a messy leak where the throttle linkage pivots in the fuel injection pump probably a bad seal. Been gun-shy to try and reduce that leaking. Don't want to do something else and make it worse or create a worse problem. Lol.
are you sending injectors and pump direct to repair specialist or through someone else who will take a cut and the reason I am asking is I always deal direct with firms and not only diesel specialist but engine machine shops and radiator repairers but I have just thought about something and that is you are probably long distance from these places.
Donald Ellett really depends on the engine. Some injectors are pretty stupid expensive, others can be had for very reasonable prices like for the Cummins 5.9L.
wooh, 3-4- weeks is going to be long way to wait the final fire-up with the new pump... :) .... why don't you drive the tractor downhile in the meantime, where it doesn't need the engine running.. :D (jst kidding)
aye.. but it looks like a nice tractor and it shall be a shame to see it just sit still there... *sigh* ah well.. **being exited and waiting for the video**
I stand corrected, in a previous video I thought this was a Cummins. When I noticed the injector pump driven off the back of the engine, I was like, wait a minute!! Turns out it is an Iveco / FPT (Fiat Powertrain) 6.7L It's scary how all the companies are inbred these days!!
I really like the explantions you give as the work progresses. Thanks.
Enjoying the videos a lot. My dad and I are about to take the injection pump off our R model Mack because when you start it it tries to run away. These videos are like a preview to what I'm going to be doing for the first time.
It's not as bad as it looks, just make sure you have the manual for the timing spec.
Wow, very well explained. I know nothing about diesel, but am learning alot from you. You would make a great teacher at a tech school.
+gmctrk63 thank you! That's a heck of a compliment.
Thanks for the video, definitely a confidence booster for someone considering doing their own work. Slow and steady and doing your homework first counts.
If I can do this, I really believe anyone can. Proper troubleshooting saves a lot of headache down the road.
Cheers for the video! Straightforward to the point with no messing around 👍
Love it. Ready for "More Later".
It sounds like you got that mic. This small detail completely changed your videos I'm super happy. You do a great job with this
I would recommend you watch one of you older outdoor videos and then this one back to back. You will agree you made the right decision.
Thanks Jake! I really like the new audio setup as well.
Wow, you are a trooper for chasing and following through on this one. Not sure if you've bitten off more than you care to swallow, but I'm interested in sticking along to see how all these repairs come out. Good luck!
It'll all work out in the end. Thanks for being here!
Wish I knew half what you do....really good stuff, keep it up my brother
Thank you!
I think you know what you are doing and are confident. It will work out well I think and good video. I am learning by watching and that is my goal.
+feelnrite thank you! I'm glad to share what knowledge I can.
Great video this will come in handy for me as the cheap T6030 we bought last year is abit sluggish. We have wound the power screw in a little but it still lacks power at the top of the rev range.
+mataiterapreha glad it was useful!
Excellent video, i need to know exactly what you are doing. I truly appreciate you sharing you knowledge Thanks again.Randy
I hope it helps Randy! If you have any specific questions let me know.
Well done Sir! Thanks. Be safe and God bless you and your family!!!
+Ray Eddy thanks!

The gentleman at the injection shop said these are usually damaged by low fuel pressure due to either plugged filters or a failed lift pump.
I like the gentleman at the IP shop already. Our TS110 has an electric lift pump instead. So now I'm wondering if one of those oil pressure shutdown switches could be made to work on the line between the pumps to just kill the engine when fuel pressure drops there? Save the next IP? I'm ready to see the cost break down! Heck once you're done, it'll be a damn near new tractor!
+Drew w it's starting to feel that way!
Your engine looks like the one on my backhoe bl110b 4cyl? I have a question sir how do you know which pump is bad or if the injectors are bad thanks reallly Appreciate you explaining every step helps a lot to understand
Congratulations on 5,000 subs! It now says 5k instead of the actual number I am impressed
Thank you!
Even at 3am your videos got priority. :D And thats a long time it will take to rebuild that pump.
Thanks! I guess if he's that busy, he must be good at what he does.
agree that if u suspect something may have gotten clogged somewhere in the injection system you may as well rebuild the injectors as well as the pump, nobody would want to have to tear it back apart, as well I like how your taking a tractor that may not have had an easy life and giving it the attention that's likely to have been long overdue soo it has a good chance at a long second life

dont worry if it wasn't a good deal, the important thing is this: now you have a decent tractor and it will be fixed soon. everything will be fixed by you, and this should make you proud of yourself
+Pesa true, but the point of buying used and rough machinery is hopefully to save money.
i know, but we cannot always have what we want, sadly. sometime because of us, sometime because of other people not being fair at all. this thing happened to me a bounch of times, its frustrating but we need to go on. and do everything we can to not make it happen again ahaha
Wow very good vid, one of the best I have ever seen... Take care
Wow, thank you!
Dzięki za film. Udało mi się szybko wymienić pompę.
This was an interesting video of the injection pump removal. Didn't realize you need to lock in both the TDC of #1 and lock in the injection pump. I guess you do learn something everyday.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Fantastic video, enjoy watching your channel, thanks very much
Thank you Jan!
Need to use a suitable tool to pin time engine. Maybe a inverted drill bit or rod of the right size. A Phillips screw driver @ 6.26 in your video is not going to get it dead on. Pin must accurately stop the flywheel in place.

I supose it is done different in the US or is that just that make of tractor.
+Equiluxe1 it varies by engine and pump. This tractor was actually built in England.
Great vid, big thanks I learned a lot but I wouldn't be able do that job without tractor manual. 3 to 4 weeks is long time for it to b fix!
+Jamie Shields this is one of those jobs where the factory manual is pretty important.
Where did you get the factory manual from? Do some manufacturers make their manuals easier to get than others? Thanks!
my tractor is losing fuel through that hold down bold on the injection pump. Any reasons it may do that?
You are quite a talented guy when it comes to engine work. Where did you learn all of your mechanical skills?
I started learning as a kid, went to tech school after high school and have been working in the field ever since. Thank you!
Good video looks as if you didn't have much room to work in, here in the UK we call vice grips Mole Grips they are very handy things to have in a toolbox.
+Derek Tinkler it was tight, but not as bad as it could have been.
Why does the tractor's fuel go backwards?
My tractor doesn't have the hole behind the starter to know that you have the engine in the proper position how do I
I recently purchased a Massey 85, it was advertised as "work ready". I've done nothing but work on for a few weekends getting it ready to go. None of the gauges worked when I got it, once I got the new gauges all hooked up, found out that she has about 2 psi of oil pressure to the engine. :(

Was that New Holland in a Flood last year or the year before. Texas had Flooding at the same time we did last year.
I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me. I bought it from Maryland, it was sold new in Kentucky.
Got a injection pump to pull out too mine looks a lot easier to get to though. Thanks for the video
+John Myers glad you enjoyed it
The new mic and the way you explained this makes this video sound like a "how to" video.
I wondered If anyone would notice that. :)
what should be the proper compression reading
Any news on when the pump and injectors are coming back? Looking forward to seeing a video of this tractor up and running sweetly!
+Farmer John hoping to have parts this coming week
Looks to me like someone has had the pump off before, when they come out of the factory one of the bolts that hold the pump to the engine (top left one) is a special security bolt, whereas on your tractor it has got a normal bolt in place, but I could be wrong
+Kevin Koopman I agree. I found lots of signs that I wasn't the first one to chase this problem including missing bolts and clamps.
Enjoyed the video but I don't want to wait that long for the rebuilt pump!! Lol
+frosty 316 I wish it was quicker, but oh well. So long as I get it back before the snow flies.
DID YOU BUY PRIVATE OR FROM A DEALER? GREAT VID. HELL WITH MY FIXES I ALWAYS HAVE LEFT OVER PARTS, MISSED SOMETHING SOMEWHERE, GREAT TO SEE YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING TO FIX THIS.
+Patrick Dorman I bought from an individual that trades in used equipment kind of like a used car lot.
3 to 4 weeks to go thru the pump? Around here the turnaround time is about 2 to 3 days. Sorry to hear it will take that long.
+ISB170 Swap could be worse I guess.
Looking forward to your light fix my head lights work but none on back
+Jeff Everhart I want to fix these and add a beacon to the top for road travel and snow removal.
I've got a 7330 premium , and since I got bad diesel 1 month ago I cant start without sprayi g starter fluid. Any suggestions?
Are all engines the same? As far as the timing, and everything that goes with it?
Not exactly. The principles are the same, but exact methods and measurements can vary.
Sir why the rpm drop my tractor please reply sir thank you so much
Nice explanation about this project.
Thank you!
I bought a 755 back hoe and had the motor run away on me, managed to ram a shirt into intake and save the motor but had to do the pump and did the injectors just cause, WHeat City Diesel did them all in just over 2 weeks, love your detail in yer vids, cheers.
+PIPER DOUG thanks Doug!
Nice job! Where are you sending the parts to be rebuilt?
There's a shop in Greeley, CO called Rocky Mountain Diesel Services that I plan to send it to.
Great video, really enjoyed it.
Thanks!
How can I set injection pump for TLB B90
If you have the skills to fix it yourself I think you made a good buy it is definitely a upgrade from your other tractors
I'm excited to have a nice cab.
@@GuyinWY thank you I will try that
Very curious - this injector pump rebuild $1,000 +- or I maybe way off
+Donald Ellett It could run $1,000 and up depending on the exact problems found. I expect the minimum to be around $1200 but it could go as high as 4K.
Good job bud! Sometimes a little work into something makes a good deal sweeter!
I buy most stuff used, so a little work is normal.
Nice work. Thanks for the video.
Thanks!
Man, I'm so sorry you are going through all of this effort to get that machine running again. +That farming Kid yes, this is a former dairy tractor. Thanks!
how to remove or fit fuel injector in new holland 3630
Tnxs for the video, helps alot.
I watched this video which was great but did not show where and how many oil rings where to be used. There are groves for two but when you removed the injector I only saw 1 O ring on the injector. was it yellow at one time lol great to see you making progress on it
Not that I know of.
sorta sounds almost like ya got a lemon but glad the jd worked out well for you
First thing you should do is blow all the dirt off the head around the injectors. NEVER EVER bend an injection line. The passage inside them is very small and can be damaged easily. Bending one can even cause an engine miss.
I don't like to do it, but sometimes it happens. Removing them is a much better method.
Don't worry in later episodes he removes the whole tractor from the ranch.
Our tractor has what I believe to be a messy leak where the throttle linkage pivots in the fuel injection pump probably a bad seal. Been gun-shy to try and reduce that leaking. Don't want to do something else and make it worse or create a worse problem. Lol.
I know the feeling! That's why this pump is off to a professional rebuilder.
I can see that WY wind is still with you.
+Banjo Benson it never ends. There are brief breaks, but the wind is pretty constant.
are you sending injectors and pump direct to repair specialist or through someone else who will take a cut and the reason I am asking is I always deal direct with firms and not only diesel specialist but engine machine shops and radiator repairers but I have just thought about something and that is you are probably long distance from these places.
Directly to an injection shop.
I bet those injectors aren't cheap
Donald Ellett really depends on the engine. Some injectors are pretty stupid expensive, others can be had for very reasonable prices like for the Cummins 5.9L.
+Donald Ellett I've found rebuilt injectors for around $90 each.
Wow, I can't wait to hear it running. I think it's worth fixing. But what do I know. :-)
I agree on both counts.
Sir please do explain how does governor work along with accelerator linkage, and how does the control the speed. please make a video asap.
I'll bet you got a good deal on the tractor....a little work don't hurt anyone
We'll see where the dust settles on it.
At this rate we may be shoveling the durt on you ...
Also include cost of education. Seems like you went to school or just street smart?
I like to think it's a little of both. :) I did go to tech school and have been an equipment mechanic for 10 years.
I wish i had that skill. Hope it comes out worth it lol
I hope so too!
Nice
Thanks!
when all is done you no what you have
+michael clinton very true
May as well put a new pick up pump on and send that starter out for a rebuild .what is and outher $500 when your in that deep. Less down time latter
nice click so farmer
Hello ,
Great vid, bad luck with the bastad
wooh, 3-4- weeks is going to be long way to wait the final fire-up with the new pump... :)
.... why don't you drive the tractor downhile in the meantime, where it doesn't need the engine running.. :D (jst kidding)
+SaoPauloNX I would have to push or to the top of the hill every time. :)
aye.. but it looks like a nice tractor and it shall be a shame to see it just sit still there... *sigh* ah well..
**being exited and waiting for the video**
Please note: Just because I like your video does not mean I like that your tractor was broken and had to be fixed.
Understood and appreciated! Liking the video is always a good thing.
+New Jersey Bill I thought it was a Cummins as well, good to know the real story.
Annoyed the lesson,good job
+Dean Brown I hope that meant enjoyed. :) Thanks either way though!
Yes enjoyed, sorry for the spelling, keep up the good lessons
I think I'll buy electronic tractor.
+David Willow this one has a lot of electronic components to it.
What are the two switching on it? I believe the top on is the kill switch but what does the one on the side do?
Cold start advance solenoid
