I was literally just showing myself how awesome the internet and youtube something absolutely random and sure enough here you are not only doing the tunes but giving tutorials at the same time. Thank you, great content.
a steve vai signature guitar. you sir are a man of sophistication. im super in awe you can actually play it. Holy hell did i realize how hard it is to play with a floating bridge without accidentally bending strings when i bought mine. i played guitar for many years and then realized i knew almost nothing and it humbled me real quick when you only ever played on a fixed bridge for so long.
This was fun. I remember doing the opposite when composing sounds for a retro-sounding game. Compose on guitar, then rewrite on a tracker. Very nostalgic :)
IMO IM Thankful my childhood is filled with game. Getting back.... I always focus on the soundtrack of the game now. It just very fun and filled with memory.
The people who wrote the music and sounds for these old games had to be theoretical masters to do so much with so little. Good job finding it on guitar
If you wanna have a Metallica pfp dont use st anger. There’s only one good song on that album, and thats frantic. Use a ride the lighting, kill em all, AJFA, black album, load/reload, or hardwired pfp.
Very cool video; it reminds me of another of your posts suggesting that a guitarist should be familiar with at least one theme song. This is an amusing starting point. Thanks!
Childhood memories flooding back to me... I remember when my brother and I got the NES and it came with this game and Duck Hunt. Mine was so old, the zapper was still grey and not orange. You need to do the Duck Hunt sounds, particularly the dog laughing at you when you miss. You know we all shot at that mangy bastard when he laughed at us! 🤣🤣🤣
I didn't even know Mike G. loves Mario, Mario is one of my childhood games I played on my old GBA SP. I had to learn all of these Mario sounds of guitar. Thanks for a tutorial! My request: Can you do Super Mario Bros. main theme pls?
I am sorry I double commented, lol 😜 but bro this is the coolest Guitar video I have ever seen it literally put a giant smile 😁 on my face!!! I am saving this video!!! I wanna learn these now!!! Thanks Art of Guitar 🎸
this is legendary
Other people: I want to learn guitar so I can play like John Mayer
Me: I want to make Mario noise
You always come back to your true love.
Dude this is sick, i swear 9/10 times people are more impressed by video game/ tv themes than actual shredding
I wouldn’t say they are more impressed they probably just enjoy it more
learning this to somehow fit it in my solos 😬 hahaaha and probably making random sound in discord hahahahhaha
That is so true, esp if you grew up in the late 80s !
Nintendo copyright strike coming in 3....2....1....lol
Cool stuff mikey!
The 1up tapping thing was smooth
I’m a drummer but learn soooo much from you. From a musician standpoint. You are great mike! Keep up the great work 😊
Yay, fellow drummer!
So cool. I love the little sound effects you get in video games.
Love it 🎸
This was awesome, I’d love to see one of these for other classic Nintendo games like Zelda or Metroid
Solomon's Key music rocks too. I played that game sooooooo much.
You have no idea how long I’ve wanted a good quality tutorial on how to make these sounds. Thank you so much. You rock, man.
Can't wait to try these
How has this video not gone viral?

The power up sound is actually just the stage clear theme but nintendo sped it up a ton
Playing a Japanese guitar to make these sounds....brilliant!
The people who wrote the music and sounds for these old games had to be theoretical masters to do so much with so little. Good job finding it on guitar
Fun fact: the powerup sound is just the victory theme sped up a lot.
Interesting

It must have taken a while to figure out all these sounds. Great job.
