I trimmed my squash this morning and picked what was ready. I have gotten 28 squash so far.
I have cutters just like those, and I still use them. I got them free with some seed that I ordered over 20 years ago.
I had a vine borer about 3 weeks ago. I cut up the side of the vine to the end of the yucky stuff and cleaned the yucky stuff out. Thankfully, I caught it when I only had to do about 2 inches of it. Then I trimmed all but the top 4 leaves off, and then I let the open area dry for 1 day. I then covered the open area and 3 inches above the open area with new potting soil, and I watered it good and then sat a small container on top of it to hold it in place. That plant is thriving now and producing fruit. I am so glad I took the time and effort to try and save it. ❤😊😊❤

Perfect timing. Thank you for this video. A male just flowered this am and I'll be trimming tomorrow am. It's over 90° and I can't work in the heat. Thanks again. Happy Gardening!!!

Hi Robbie, my squash plants are doing wonderful so far. Perfect video I was wondering which leaves needed to be removed other than the yellow ones. Thanks😎

FYI squashbugs lay their copper colored eggs on/ under the leaves, vine borers go into the stem and put eggs inside and kill off the plant.

Hi Robbie! I thru garbage matter in with my 3 zucchini pots and the leaves are massive! Unfortunately, the squash bugs and earwigs are awful this year. My beautiful leaves full of holes. Oh, and slugs too. Do you sterilize your pruners b4 going to the next plant? Some use alcohol but was wondering if peroxide would be ok

I don't have squash bugs or vine borers, but I do have earwigs. What do I look for and do about them?
I'd also like to know if I should and how to sterilize the cutters/pruners between plants.

Thanks, Robbie! Because of you I actually have some squash plants to trim/groom.
Also thanks to you I'm already successful ... harvested one batch of radishes and started another (using a shallow dishpan, 9 quarts I think, from Dollar Tree).
It's hot in the daytime, down in the 50's at night, and constantly windy here in Fairfield, CA. Wish I'd heard of you before I bought my two 100-gallon SmartPots. 😔 But I'm composting all my kitchen scraps and taking the neighbors' brown and yellow leaves (with permission 😉). I set up 2 compost pitchers in both big pots, and I think that's why anything is still alive. Growing lettuce under the carport, where they get 1-2 hours of sun in the early morning.
    💜💜💜 THANK YOU 💜💜💜

Hey Robbie, I live in the central valley of California 101° today. My question is my squash plants are not producing fruit even though they are producing flowers I haven't seen a lot of bees lately. Could that be the problem? Love your videos

I read some other posts that said compost tea may have lots of bad bacteria, like salmonella and e-+coli , and other bacteria. Now I’m scared to use mine. I have some in 5 gallon buckets that I’m scared to use. What should I do?

Zoe is so adorable. This video is perfect timing. I only have one zucchini plant with one zucchini growing. I see what you mean by male and female flowers. Great and helpful tips for me. Thank you Robbie. It was 102° yesterday here in Twin Falls Idaho, and heating up again today. Let's all just try and stay cool during this very hot summertime weather. 🌡🥵
