Hey Robbie I just wanted to share with you I saw where someone took Coke bottle caps and hot glued them on the bottom of their pots then when they set them on their balcony or the rail the air could come through and it wouldn't rot the wood just thought I'd share thanks a lot and I love your videos 🤗
Thanks so much I’ve done the same thing but I’ve use paper fasteners to hold them because usually the hot glue let’s go on me, but thank you that’s perfect
Great idea
Ok thanks sounds good 😊💗
I love dose mini container !
I need to start my herb garden 🌷💝
Thank you for making gardening fun and accessible for all walks of life.
I haven’t had to buy any containers so far. Went through my basement and garage, anything with a 5 is becoming a planter! Too fun.
You are so welcome, gardening should be fun and easy ❤️😊
The beginning of my gardening journey started with yalls channel. Thank you for what you are doing to help so many people. ❤️☺️
Thank you so much 😊 Happy Gardening
I have a balcony garden and my potting containers consist of 2.5 gal water containers (they're the ones with the spouts) on their sides which gives me 8-9" of soil (I used kitchen scraps topped with potting mix inspired by you), boxes (learned from you) and I've also purchased some bags with handles at the grocery store (normally used for groceries for $1 each, which I use for tomatoes and larger plants such as zucchini etc., (potato plants have just sprouted from store bought potatoes in a grocery bag) and milk cartons. Water containers and milk cartons are essentially free because I purchase them regularly and they are containers I would have thrown out (recycling bin). I've incorporated what I've learned from you and another channel "winter sowing" planting seeds during winter and leave them out and they bloom when it's time. I am in zone 6b and this whole system is working out very well so far. Many of the plants have already started growing and I'm thrilled. I am a senior and would not have been able to afford the plants and everything needed without your help and ingenuity. Love the idea of the dishpans; totes would be too large for my balcony. Thanks for all you have shared with us, you are truly an inspiration. 💗🙏💗
You have given me new hope for something that I truly love to do! When I was younger I enjoyed gardening so much. I could do anything, physically. As the years have gone by, some of that has changed and I didn't think to adapt the process, so I began enjoying it less and less. Your ideas have helped me look forward to it all again! Thank you so very much :)
So cool thank you for letting me know, and now happy gardening
I just scored FIVE 18 gallon totes ($10 for all). Only you (and our readers) would know why i'm so tickled.
Omg best deal ever!!!!! How wonderful 😊👏
*Omgosh .... I do that All....the time is I "think" I'm going to remember & I never do!!! Crazy!!! 😂🤪😂* Sharon in SC
Robbie, I love your energy. Sweet little Kittie knows a lot by following you! :-)
Our dinner special this evening is our dish pan salad along with our famous Sterlite Zucchini stir fry!
Thanks guys, I'm starting my dish pan garden on the back deck next week! 😘🥬
I love these, easy to move if needed, and less soil needed, thanks
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy I've already harvested my first pickings of salad. You guys are AWSOME.
Haha! I love that...dish pan salad and Sterilite zucchini!😄😄👍🏻
Wow Robbie! You are on fire with great ideas to help everyone garden easy!Miss Kitty is looking cute as ever!❤

I Love Ms. Kittie! another great motivating video. just made a salad from lettuce I grew outside my bedroom window. Keep the videos coming
How wonderful, keep growing 😊 thank you ❤️

Ontario, Canada 🍁
Thank you so much 😊 and happy gardening
I think you can purchase dish pans at the "dollar" store.... great ideal. Thank you!!
Once again. Great for handicapped folks who can't walk far. You are awesome. I wake up in PA. And watch you every am. Smart chicken. Lol
Thank you! You have really inspired me & I only hope My plants grow as nicely as yours :))

May even grow better 😊❤️ thank you
Wow, your channel, your yard, your experience and your personality, are magic. Thank you.
You continue to teach me. I won't give up on feeding the hummingbirds around here💖💖💖much love and respect.
Thank you so very much 😊❤️
Robbie I need more tote lids I love making the cages to protect my plants! Love today's video great idea for small spaces.
Round or square it works great, thanks so very much 😊❤️
What would be your best recommendation for a soldering iron for putting holes in the sides of garden bins used as pots
Really anyone works great, the better ones may last longer, but all are great to use.
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy thank you! Bought a small one this afternoon. Starting my first container veggie garden. Thanks for shary your great ideas!
That what I do. I use my husband's
Yes, please! I would like to see the video of the pvc stand building process.
"Don't forget to grow what you can eat." 😁
Thanks for the brilliant video Robbie. Your videos always make me smile.I have also been growing in washing up bowls. I couldn't afford the tubs so I have been growing in lots of things, mostly stuff I get from charity shops or
containers I had in the garden or around the house. I have also been growing in big shoppings bags which are a lot like the Ikea bags😍
Sounds great what you have been growing in, thanks so much 😊
wow!!! I never thought of garden bags, to grow in, Thank you!!
I have not seen all of Robbies videos, yet💖
@@dianamckinn6994 I've seen at some walmarts there are still 50 cent bags {blue with walmart logo} that you can grow thing in. I did use them in the past. they last a couple of seasons.
@@ewelina3803 Thank you, I'll check my walmart
I love the idea of the mini totes. Excellent idea for my porch. Thank you for sharing. I would like to see the video of Gary assembling the PVC stand.
Thank y'all again.
Happy Mother's Day!
I love the mini totes they work so well for other things too I’ve got tomatoes growing in them and different things now. I’ll tell Gary about the PVC stand, happy Mother’s Day thank you so much
Glad I came across this video. I have 3 dish pans, 2 blue & 1 white. I’ll use the blue ones, they are old. Hey! I also have an extra carrier for cleaning supplies, maybe use it for radishes. My son bringing me up some of his left over potting soil and manure, that’ll save me $$. I set my composting tote up on pavers today on a concrete slab made for a water statue. Got my tomatoes ready to plant, red & yellow cherry, and 1 Roma. Will get my herbs Sunday. I’m so excited to get started! Yep got tulle too!
Oh that sounds wonderful, happy gardening thanks so much
Another great video! Been sharing like crazy w the food shortage coming🍅🥒🍆🥬🍓🫑NO FERTILIZER NEEDED 🌞🌞🌞
Growing is going to be very important this year, and years to come, thanks 😊❤️
I love this idea, but I have a question about the pan you put on the bottom of the stand Gary built: how can you grow something that's in the shade and not receiving any sunlight?
Here in Southern California, I grow a lot of stuff in the shade, especially lettuce all year. Thanks so much. 😊
I do that too. I think I'll remember and then of course I don't. I'm getting better at labeling my seedlings. Lol.
I need to, 😆 thanks 😊
Thanks sweety
❤️
I forget to label to and then I stick label in wrong plant , lol, my life is interesting lol
Hey Gary , can we please see a video on your pvc stand you made Robbie 😊
Hi, I liked to see how to make the pvc pipe stand. Clever very clever,.💋❤️🦋
Always with such great content! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
I LOVE. LOVE THIS IDEA. Where were you 6 months ago when I was putting by planters together.
I bought the dish Pan from a Dollarama for $2.50 I just checked it is not even 1 gallon. At Walmart the Sterlite pan is under $6 and almost 5 gallon. Today I just bought 2 bucket from Home Depot. $4 each.
🙏Loving the dishpan size for lettuce, radishes, etc.
I'll use plastic file size milk crates and they can easily stack and are sturdy. And very colorful!!!Especially if I don't have chairs or tables for totes.
I think you said you planted zinnias, but I did not get a good look at the seedlings because you were moving too fast for me to identify them. 😆😆😆
Thank you . I enjoy your videos so much keep the good work up and the great ideas I love them all 🍅🥕🍍🥦
I like your idea of finding earthworms and their eggs under flower pots.
Thanks.
I do the "I'm going to remember" thing all the time too! :) Thanks for the tote lid reminder... doing that is going to be my fall gardening resolution!
You have a lot of great, cheap ideas that actually work very well. I really like your ideas for plant covers since I have problems with insects and pests.
Nice encouragement, and ideà, Thanks 👍👍👍❤❤❤
Just saw a post where he used a cardboard box without bottom and top turned down to plant 2 cut potatoes. He recommen ded net on top to prevent potato bags. He must watch you.
I am so excited to get started planting. I will start tomorrow putting my tomato and pepper starts in the raised beds . I have onion seeds for bulbing onions and walking onions , strawberry plants and some other seeds sown into the beds now .
Your plant pots are close together. Do you ever have plant bugs go from one pot to another or is that why you protect them with coverings?
All I have is a window. Can you do this inside? I don't want worms in the house do I ? Thanks
This is going to save my back👍🏼. Thank you!
What tomato is that please
Looking for the little short ones
Ty
Patio tomato plant, that is what it’s called, so short
I am about to plant some basil rosemary and merry by in my plastic dish pans
Please send video of your pvc table but only if easy
What do you do with the spoons, I quess I missed that?
Planting small plants, or seeds, or removing seedlings
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy thank you for this idea and for answering my question. I love watching your gardening and hummingbird channels.
Do you have to fill the container to the top?
2 pints = 1 quart. 4 quarts = 1 gallon. Therefore 18 quarts = 4.5 gallons. So yup..almost 5 gal. 👍🏾
Robbie, have you done the video about the elbow joints yet?
If a plants needs 5 gal to plant in, does it matter if it’s not deep? Or does it need to be. If a plant needed 8-10 inches for roots, could you still use the kitchen tub? I think it’s a great idea and better for me but I’m new and not sure how depth vs volume would work. Will the roots just expand outward (instead of down) and just don’t plant anything else with it?
I’m just rambling now. Sorry. Lol
I love your long videos !!
Also. How could we make this self watering?
Make the holes higher up on sides
Is the purple tree a lettuce??
Thank you Robbie for so many ways to make gardening cheap! I also look for "out of the box" ideas. You helped me a lot with saving water draining from flower pots. I hate to waste water and all the nutrients that run out of the pots. I'm so happy that kitchen scraps can be used right away for planting. You inspired me to grow winter crop. Your ideas are the game changers for me. Especially kale, beets surprised me how big they grew over the winter and now I can add it to my salad. I don't have to waste winter growing season! Never stop coming up with new ideas Robbie!
Hummingbirds arrived in Illinois last week I bought some flowers and every year that is the day I see them☺️so happy bought some garden plants also looking forward to start .Thanks for all your videos ♥️ them
Another quick question, Robbie. If you''re setting up totes for the first time and have run out of enough kitchen scraps, can you use just the brown leaves, green leaves and paper without the scraps? Would it be enough nutrients for the new plants?
Looks a bit like basil
Omg I have 3 of these I bought. I grew lettuce in them. Worked perfectly. Thanks for spreading the word!
I just bought a few more today online they work so good I have plans of growing other things in them too, like ginger and turmeric 😊❤️
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Oh, that's a wonderful idea. They do hold a surprising amount. Ginger and turmeric should do great in them. Thanks for the idea! You inspire me so much Robbie. BTW I live all the way in Barbados but I've watched just about every video you've put out there because Southern California can be even hotter than the Caribbean sometimes and I need those beat the heat tips.
I also grow onion in them
I'm gonna get some dish pans! I didn't realize they were that big.
Love the extra footage of Kitty!💕🐶🥰
Necessity if the mother of invention. Love your ideas.. Just curious what you do if you get a hard rain and downpour as we often do in Arizona?? A hard rain and hail in summer can ruin everything you built.
Hello Robbie and Gary and kitty I just love seeing her so cute 🥰 thanks again for sharing with us.💚
You don't have to worry about when you put the table scraps in there you know the vegetable scraps in the macros and insects eating those you don't have to worry about them eating your vegetable plant that you're trying to grow ?
I've been doing it but then that popped into my mind and I don't know if it's okay or they're going to eat my fruit my vegetables. thank you so much for sharing and answering our questions and y'all have a very blessed day 🙏.
Awesome tips
Totes get very wet here in Cincinnati. I wait until later summer to plant in them.
If you get lots of rain, be sure to put the holes on the bottom.
💗🥰
Hello How are you? It is a blessing with these videos...I wanted to if using a 5 gallon tote with topsoil and cow compost how much do I use
Radish are great to grow for the edible seed pods. The flowers are pretty and you get quite a god crop from each radish. Well worth growing for the seed pods alone.
Oh…so you don’t have to put your containers on the ground. I have holes in the bottoms and I won’t have worms
Thanks for yet another great idea and encouraging words, Robbie!😍
Thank you Robbie, for the tip on finding earthworms!
I cant look at worms without feeling sick lol
Oh No, they are making your plants healthy and grow....
Can I grow passion fruit vine in a five gallon bucket or tote?
I love your channel!!! Thank you for all the great info you share!!
Is the spoon your gardening spade?
This one was a dinner spoon
How do your plants get pollinated with tulle over them
Your deck garden loved it
Thank you 😊
Robbie, thank you for your wonderful ideas. Can you tell me how to buy the tulle, thank you.

Robbie has a link in the description of all her videos now. Just click on it and place your order.
@@MaxineAnne77 Thank you, I got it.
Good idea, I will pick some up on my next trip.
Such a great idea for small space gardening and almost counter height raised bed. I love this! Your videos inspire me to get in my garden and try! I think the $1.25 8 quart dish pans from Dollar Tree would work for salad greens too.
Thank you . Gunna try it
where can I guy those tubs?
Walmart! Check their website. They're always out in the store.
Thanks I order them for home delivery 😊
Walmart $2.84, I just bought more 😊
Love this channel
Thanks 😊
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy yes ma’am! I recommend it to everyone I know who gardens!
I just bought a white one the other day.
Can you tell us where you bought the 18-qt dish pans?
I bought them at Walmart on their website, some stores carry them inside.
Always great tips.
Great. Thanks.
