It’s not just his phenomenal skills, but his understanding of his subject and humility around his skills that are equally amazing. Not only he deserves a pat on the back, but his parents too have done a brilliant job.
Mark Harris ur comments were just spot on Mark. Most of people here sounds a bit ‘jealous’?? maybe...? ,. But that’ s far of the main context of Josiah’s skills. Seems most of comments are coming from not knowing nothing about him and mainly parenting. There is nothing more rewarding than see your kids become passionate for something, teaching them, mould them, give form to that creativity on their brains,.. John’s (Josiah’s dad) work was just amazing. Congratulations!!. Money comes later.
yeah we're just jealous of his awesome skills, we're not just thinking about the fact that when he was 5 he was able to use a camera that most people will never be able to even touch, but hey, it's not about the camera and the environment he grew up in, it's about his awesome skills inherent of his divine soul. imagine a 13yro aspiring photographer using his phone, matchbox pinholes or disposable cameras watching this video and feeling completely useless because "gear doesn't matter, his talent does"
Yes he has good gear and a good location but the amount of jealousy in the comments is overwhelming lol he seems very mature and respectful and deserving of his awards and equipment so good on him
Ned Daniels you are absolutely, he deserves the Exelance award to but do you know that milions of kids of lesser then his age are also around us who have no motivation, gears, and locations but have more potential than such kids. these videos should be shown to the parents of the world to let them know that this is possible that one can do wonders if he or she gets the best gadgets in hand and yes the moral support first
Yeah im late but you know $3000 for good camera gear aint really that much. I'd say he has over $4000 of camera gear which starts getting quite expensive
Enjoy Happy Moments You‘re right. But it doesn‘t depend on your gear if you are a good photographer or not. You can take way better images with an iPhone 6 than someone does with for example a Canon 1dx or smth. But in wildlife photography its completely different you NEED to have good and expensive gear, even at the beginning. Bc you can‘t take wildlife pictures with any phone... So this boy absolutely has rich parents... „When i was seven, I took it more seriously...“ he says. When i was seven, my entire holding was about 20 bucks... When i wanted to buy smth for 5 bucks i had to think about it for a while😂 And this guy has a full frame camera with a pro line lens...
This guy is good! Yes he was blessed with all the great equipment but not just anyone can go out and shoot without knowing at least a little bit about photography! Kudos to this kid!
@@evanchu479 get some Longer Lens ! 90 to 230 Zoom 500 mm ! What you have are considered Portrait lenses ! You could do some Macro Photography is you get the proper rings to attach to the body and Lens !
One thing I love about this young man is his desire to tell a story with his art rather that just give a snapshot of his journey. He's truly creative! All the people ranting about the expensive gear he's using are probably just jealous about his achievements. Judging from the level of experience he's had with nature and wildlife, it wouldn't take him too much to take great photos with cheap gear. People, please learn to celebrate others and improve your own skills. Hating will not make you a better artist, but just a better critic, and trust me, your criticism will be offensive 90% of the time. The problem with many photographers nowadays is their awful habit of not practicing and blaming their bad photos on gear. Based on experience, if you are devoted to, and determined to achieve something, nothing will stop you from achieving it. With that being said, get out your camera and go take photos of birds in your backyard or in a nearby park!!! It doesn't matter if you're a wedding photographer; these skills are transferrable, and in the long run, will make you a better artist.
Yes his equipment is expensive, but clearly his father had a passion for it, its no different than a parent supporting a child's sport he seems like a nice kid. He will do great things for sure!
I'm amazed by all the negative remarks in the comments. Of course the kid needs half-decent equipment; I have never seen a good wildlife photographer that shoots with a kit lens or even a small telephoto. If you want to get good shots of wild animals, you need a supertelephoto. Even at that, it's not like he's shooting with top of the line gear, it's more mid-range or even entry-level for wildlife. And I'm sure he's paid it off with all the awards he's acquired from his photos. The kid has talent and passion, and most importantly for wildlife photography: patience. I know I don't have patience, that's why I shoot landscapes. The fact that this kid has been passionate about wildlife photography ever since he was 7 years old shows that he deserves the recognition he is getting. Stop getting so jealous people. Show some appreciation instead.
Full support for this, obviously very mature young boy! For people complaining that it's because he has good equipment..., what about his patience, persistence and love for his craft?
_"what about his patience, persistence and love for his craft?"_ If you have the best equipment, this become irrelevant. What I mean by that is you'll become patient and persistant 10x and you're love for your craft will be unlimited. There are better photographers out there but they're so limited when it comes to gears, equipment, time and support from their family.
He doesn't have best equipment, just modest equipment. There are worse photographer than him with way more expensive equipment, more time and support. Please keep your stupidity to yourself.
He has not the best equipment, search about medium format cameras. Actually he has the attitude and the eye to be a very good photographer and even more is worse equipment the one who teaches you how to be conscious about photographs. I am in a third world country and my equipment is old, cheap and second hand, that has not been excuse to don't shot landscape photographs I am proud to have made.
Can't believe the number of idiots questioning how he obtained the gear when he clearly states that he started out using his dad's backup gear ... don't just watch the video, try listening to
This kid makes stunning photographs. He is able to make a really harmonious relationship with the animals. To the people that complain about the gear, let me tell you that this kid would be able to capture such images even on very simple equipment. The gear is just a tool. Keep going dude!!
Great to see our younger generation embracing our natural world, taking up nature photography and being supported by their parents and channels such as this. Thank you!
Parents who give their children encouragement & creative support in accomplishing their dreams, are giving them a massive head start in life. He’s not selling drugs or doing RAVE parties, throwing wheelies in cars like FAST & FURIOUS. He’s out in the wilds growing his talent in a time when the tools are there, affordable & if used well can expand their skills sets 10 fold. Good for him. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🌿🌿🎥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
would you guys write all this stuff about equipment if he was 20 years older?. Of course it's a privilege having the opportunity to do that with 13 but anyway the photos he takes and endurance he has being in the wilderness for couple of hours is still very impressive in my opinion. so keep the good work up buddy!
This is the proper way to shoot animals. He is talented and has that beautiful BC landscape at his disposal. I love wildlife photography too, there’s something intrinsically therapeutic about being able to take a picture of a wild animal, it forges a connection with that particular creature and the coolest part is that a lot of them will make eye contact if you are at a safe distance. I hope this guy NEVER stop doing this! It is a beautiful thing.
This is a very uplifting video to see, I my self am 13 and have been a videographer for 4 years, it really relieves me that there are other young people willing to take on practices such as this. I commend this fellow teenager for his dedication to wildlife photography.
Good job young man - keep going! My Dad let me use his camera when I was your age and I learned a lot. He also had a friend that was a shooter for National G - he conveyed some awesome things from him as well. And to the haters commenting on gear. That's what parents do - they help their kids. I know kids who are under 10 - with great surfboards that shred. It's a combination of gear and talent. And there are lots of guys with more expensive gear that arent' good. Leave your negativity out of this - especially to someone so young.
I see a supportive father who didn't ignore his son's curiosity and quite the opposite - helped fostered a great passion in his son. That's nothing to hate on.
It's not hate. This is just pure advertising and rich parents coming together. Not a single kid will be shown unless that happens. Parents nowadays can't even afford an extremely good camera model; yet this kid has all the gear. The comments make sense and they are not hate comments; they are common sense. This kid wouldn't have been famous if he had middle-class parents who made just enough for themselves and to pay off bills. Camera gear like his costs tons of fortune like beyond $10,000. It's not easy to throw money out the window and expect something to happen for some parents.
HEARING HIM SPEAKING TELLS A LOT ABOUT HIS PATIENCE...HE'S INDEED VERY CREATIVE and looks up to telling a story with his images rather than just clicking them and that's what i like him for
Can people just shut up about "oh, this kid is so lucky to have this equipment, that's all that matters" and stuff? Yes, you do need expensive equipment in order to be a wildlife photographer. Playing certain instruments can also be extremely expensive, but you don't walk up to a skilled cellist and tell him that he sucks just because his instrument costs a fortune. His pictures are quite decent and he's just a kid, and seems to be pretty nice, chill out.
These people are dumb who have no idea about expenses which I'm sure this spoiled kiddo was funded hard by his parents. It's literally praises and stuff by brainwashed people by the cause of heaving advertising and funding. I've seen many of these videos before and it's stupid. Good points.
Buy you also need to understand that a cellist can practice on the worst cello and still play amazingly well since the age of 2-3 because of raw talent but this kid could never earn those images from a crap camera since most of the shots are taken several hundred yards away with a telescopic lens. And your cellist analogy is extremely poorly made. Not even remotely the same thing. Don’t over sell it. Any iPhone user can be a cinema photographer these days just by buying a 10 dollar app. Several youtubers are showing that against their red cam. I’m betting an African kid living in the bushes can do the same thing what this kid is doing. But he is doing something he loves but it’s extremely privileged hobby for someone like himself to earn those equipments on his own dime. Let’s have that established before we praise the heck out of him and calling people jealous. I have no intention of doing this yet David Attenborough is my favorite nature dude.
Dudes unknowing training since he was a kid I got into photography when I was 15 and am still learning props to you dude And yes It takes a lot if dedication to not give up, I had moments when I switched to 4 to 5 months not taking any pictures cause of my problems But added to that the gear don't matter ( I mean it does but you have to keep up) You have to have the perfect setting, the light, the shadow, the texture, the ISO etc... During that perfect shot cause you don't want miss the moment and he does it😮😮
This boy got very good understanding about Wild Life photography. Gears play vital role too. But understanding is very important & then comes gears. Kudos to the boy 👌
Or have parents that are extremely rich and give you all the best camera gear that goes over 10Gs? You have no idea how expensive equipment is and I'm pretty sure his parents are rich and have good advertising firms. Good luck with that statement. Any creative person with crazy skills can't even get shown on the internet unless someone advertises them heavily. This is a corrupt system. I've seen crazy designs and creative photographers that this kid won't even register within decades. You don't even understand.
Good for you Josiah! If you're reading all the negative comments, just stop. Those people don't see the positives: that a kid gets to spend time with his Dad who is taking the time to teach him, that maybe you're family does have the money for good equipment (maybe not...we all don't know your family), but the point is that you ARE taking the time to use it. Many families who do have the means don't have kids who use it properly. You are. You've got a great eye for composition, what the shot means and for taking the time to get the right shot. Most people don't have patience these days because they have to check their phone for their latest notifications. You keep going Josiah! Take those photos and live your passion. Not many people do which is why you get all the negative hosers :) Congrats and I look forward to seeing the images you produce!
Amazing what good parents and lots of money can achieve. Would be nice to see some results from programs reaching out to more disadvantaged kids around the world.
Looked it up, $1,600 for the body, lens, and battery grip he has. Of course he didn't buy these things with his own money to start, but you have to know that this shit takes actual fuckin skill, too. You can't hand any random kid his age $1.6k worth of equipment and expect to take photos like that instantly. Give credit where credit is due. I'm not saying I'm amazing or anything, but all I see in this comment section is people complaining that he has a nice setup, but it's clear you're all kids who think that $1,600 is such an insane unreachable amount of money. When you grow the fuck up and get a normal job, you'll see that it's a lot closer than you think. I'm not saying $1,600 is pocket change to any normal person, but it doesn't take years and years of saving for an adult (like his parents) to get something like this. What were you doing at 13? Probably jacking off to Kim K like the rest of us so shit the fuck up.
Mike Wazowski - I'd have to agree with you. These pictures with this equipment didn't take them selves. I think it takes incredible talent and skill to take these photos in addition to great consistency and patience to say the least. Give this boy a cheap budget camera and the photos would probably be just as nice. Heck, give this kid an iPhone to take pictures and he'd still be winning awards.. This is more about skill than what "expensive" equipment he has, and how "fortunate" he is have it at this age... To me he seems so focused on his work and so intelligent that he could have saved up his allowance to buy more equipment to do what he's doing instead of buying candy and video games.. People really need to get their head out of their butts and stop being so jelly 🤣
Im 14 and im a lenscape and Architektur Fotograf but i dont can Do wealy wildlife Fotografie becous the equipment is so extensive . Sorry vor bed inglisch im german
Matthias Peters "I'm 14 and I'm a landscape and architecture photographer but I can't do wildlife photography because the equipment is so expensive. Sorry for my bad English, I am German" here you go buddy 😀
Talented kid with huge luck by his side!!! There are millions of talented people out there who are left unnoticed due to not having money, support & resources in order to showcase their talent, thus their talent totally being wasted, only the privileged ones get the chance to shine through(most of the times), due to the availability of money, support & resources. You see, in today's world, money runs the talent at initial stages !!! Take my example, i have a knack for filmmaking but unfortunately my father( i hate calling him this word) never supported his family & went with some other woman 20 years younger than him & gave us extreme physical & mental trauma! Anyways, i wish god does some magic before it's too late !!!
UlTrApLeX he is not being a victim he just said the truth nobody gives a dam about you when you have no money or no support then only a person realizes that this earth is like heaven for rich people....anyway i'm not gonna explain because it's internet who cares.....but don't think that life is easy for everyone just because it is easy for you. EDIT:- reality is bitter and i really hate the suffering a normal person has to face.
You really have to have the right equipment to capture stunning Photographs. That's what matters too and which is apart from the patience levels off course that one should have
Alex Ercole pssh.. use your talent with your iphone.. lets see him replacate his own photos with his iphone... oh right.. you cant.. im a photographer.. it was night and day when i swapped from an 80d to a 5d mark 3.. literally.. the next day i had a boosted portfolio..
Okay kiddo, first of all: PSSH...many people use their talents with their iPhone and many have won competitions against pros with phone pictures- if you don't want to take my word for that, head over to 500px or fotolia and see for yourselves in the "smartphone" category. Seeing your work on your channel, I gotta say that most of your shots I certainly could've reproduced with a good smartphone and a 20" reflector, at least to the point where the average client would've still loved to image. As a photographer that still comes from the film era, you can't really debate me on gear; we used to take wedding photos in a church with no image stabilisation, wildlife at 800 asa and backlit portraits without precise spot-metering. Obviously, over the years, I've used pretty much any pro camera, at least for testing; I currently own 3 Nikon D3s, a Nikon D4, a Nikon D4s, a Nikon D5 and lots of glass including the Nikkor 14-24 2.8, the 50 mm 1.4, the 85 1.4, the 105 1.4, the 70-200 2.4 G2, the nikkor 1.7 and 2x teleconverter, as well as the nikkor 600mm f4. Oh, and about 20 more lenses, including the old AI series from the film days. I know- and Alex is almost right when he says that gear doesn't mean shit. It just makes a good photographer a great photographer but it doesn't make a photographer a great photographer.
what i like more about the kid is his composure towards his skill and his way of describing his work and passion in words... Some one once said "You will be surprised what the next generation of Young lads can do what you couldn't do at that age"
agree, for Wildlife, you should need telephotos and that's not a cheap lens... I mean, I'm pretty sure you don't want to be killed by a lion or something like that because you shoot him at close range using cheap lens like 35mm or 50mm right? and people keep talking "oh gear isn't everything, what can you do with good gear if your skill isn't good" yada yada yada, but in fact almost all pro photographers are using expensive gears....
The one thing you need is a lot of patience. If you are not willing to wait for the shoot, no amount of expensive equipment will help you become a good wildlife photographer.
Good in the kid, Instead of running the streets or sitting in front of a games consoles, his out taking brilliant photos, and sports a brilliant head on his shoulders... Keep it up young man
Yeah he has good equipment. But fancy equipment doesn't make you a good (and award-winning) photographer. You need to know about lighting, composition, how to use your equipment, how to color correct your images. You need a lot of effort and training to become good and also lots of motivation and patients to wait for the right moments in the wilderness. So his story is still amazing.
beautiful work by a kid who has talent and the eye for it. All those whinging would think nothing of a kid having a dirt bike or a musical instrument for school, the camera is mid range, he has the talent, and the patience
Awesome work. Definitely have an amazing eye for wildlife. But to be very fair 99% of 13 year olds could never do wildlife photograpy. The reason being you need a fast telephoto lens which are hugely expensive.
@@wakkowarner8810 not really true. If you have a cheap camera body with the kit lens, not matter what techniques you use, you will not be able to get the same results he does with a decent camera body and good glass. You'd be naive to think you can. He has a talent that has been nurtured and supported by his parents. He is also in the very fortunate position that he had access to thousands of dollars in gear. If a regular teenage wanted a camera, their parents would spend $500-$1000 (If they are lucky) on a camera and lens, getting the something mediocre and probably outdated. This kid got very lucky
Connor Schenkey The best and fastest lens I own is a Tamron 150-600 G2. $1200. I get amazing results with it, and it is no where close to being a top of the line lens.
This is like 20% actual talent and 80% expensive equipment. Before you go 'durrr I'm an idiot, equipment doesn't matter', let me stop you there. Yes it does. You can't go out and take an award winning photo with a flip phone camera, can you? Nope. Imagine this, I'm out there with this kid he takes a picture using his $30,000 equipment and I take a picture using a $10 camera. Who is going to produce better pictures? So yes, it is about equipment.
agreed, but maybe not $30,000. I'm gonna try and save up for a £600 tamron 150-600mm, which is the standard focal length for wildlife and with a £500 body hopefully i'll be able to get some decent shots. of course, the lens the guy's using is probably at least $2000 but nowhere near $30000
It takes years even a decade for some of hard work and dedication for a person to learn how to take professional-quality photos. This kid is only 13 and he's already there. Hand an average person his camera and you'll get horrible results. It's more like 70% skill 30% equipment. Anyways you can buy a Nikon P900 for $600. You'll get the zoom he's getting and great quality. His equipment costs $5,000 at most. edit: Nikon P900*
Not trying to discourage the kid because he’s obviously good, but it’s kinda easy to get some shots like his with thousands of dollars of camera equipment.
M&GDubstep M&G to get consistently great photos yes. But this kid has 5k+ worth of gear that, without, he would absolutely not be considered an amazing photographer. Photography is definitely a skill, but I wouldn't say he's amazing at it
xxcsgokid channel he’s a great kid for having the passion and interest to pursue this subject, but it is true that having access to such a special landscape and such expensive equipment and a father who works professionally in this area is a large part of his success, I doubt he would be as successful without any of these things. The main reason these photos are great is because they are of beautiful animals that people rarely see, as oppose to his amazing talent. Still a talented kid though, with a bright future in the field most likely
That's called good parenting! Because this kid actually has a tallent and thanks to his parents he is able to develop his talent a master it. He is a good example because if the parents are talking, listening and giving their child the freedom to do what they are excited about, the child will grow and become something that he likes and not what the parents liked for them for him.
For all salty comments: It's 100x times better to see this kid making beautiful peaceful pictures instead of wasting parents money on games/drugs/etc.. Great pictures! Good luck in future, kid!
Here's a challenge for everyone who's defending the kid by saying "talent is important than the costly gear", try getting a shot of a bird with a cheap kit lens that most can afford and not with a 500mm/600mm expensive ass lens which alone would cost you around 10k-12k. Then we'll see.Obviously you need a longer focal length to get that shot. Those lenses cost you fortune. It would be very difficult with a 18-55mm or 24-120mm kit lens.We aren't even discussing the faster pro cameras yet, they add to the cost as well. There are many talented photographers who's talent is restricted by their budget.
A Realist If it was a 600mm prime he was using then yes it would be about 13k but you can clearly see from the video that its a sigma 150-600, not sure exactly what version (sport or contemporary) but at most that lens is £1400 new but you could probably get the contemporary used for about £600. No matter how good the gear is if you dont have the talent your not going to get pictures like his.
i dont know if you have heard about it but it actuely exists super zoom cameras that are pretty cheap and have these kinds of lenses (25-600) these cameras only go for around 400-600
Alright challenge accepted...www.flickr.com/photos/161404658@N08/39940559922/in/dateposted-public/ --- That's a picture I took with a $160 Canon 55-250mm on a Canon Rebel SL2. Get over yourself, you have no idea what you're talking about man, you realize that unless you use a full-frame dslr, a budget crop sensor camera on a moderate focal range is actually equivalent to much more (eg: 250mm x 1.6 crop = 400mm)...Either way, wildlife photography isn't the ONLY photography discipline! Do landscape or street photography until you can save up for a telephoto lens, besides doing landscape will teach you how to use your camera more effectively and street will help you learn how to prepare yourself for unexpected opportunities, both of which will help you in wildlife photography.
I'm not good at playing the violin, just because I went ahead and purchased one for 5000 dollars. Him having what ever amount of value in his gear, has zero effect on his talent.
Right there at :40 seconds he said he used his dad’s backup camera which already looks to be a full frame monster with a lens that’s also monstrous...a backup camera, so the main camera must be insane. So personally, his starter camera was already a full frame monster Nikon camera with a lens that’s about the same size if not taller than he was at 5. While he does have a talented eye (passed down by genetics, clearly) he also had the advantage of being able to work with insane gear from the beginning, which, I don’t give a damn what people here say that it isn’t about the gear, the gear helps A LOT. A LOT. I pixel peep because I some times print my work...again, A LOT. Shhhhhhhhh....A LOT. Don’t argue.....A LOT lol. Wildlife photographers usually print their work. Printing basically is either enlarging (magnification) or down scaling your work. The amount of data captured is CRITICAL to this process. You need full frame cameras that produces little to no noise in case you need to enlarge a print. Anyway, my point is that yes he’s talented but there is a huge benefit in also having access to insane gear.
He's lucky to have a first easy experience. Nobody has this equipment, the environment, someone who drives for you and stays together while you practice your hobby ... when you are 13 ... Anyway, the images are incredible, for me especially "raindrops".
Ik a lot of people are saying a good eye is important, and im not saying it is. Even a blind person with a great camera, will get at least 1 good photo after taking a few thousand shots (if he can figure out how to turn it on that is) Im just stating the obvious here xD
His pictures are awesome! However, He is very happiness for living at the great country and having wonderful gears to do this... Keep shooting and be thankful. You are a lucky boy.
Although I agree with what you say here as most people will think looking at this kid with his fancy equipment, it is not that black and white, hope you know that fancy equipment in the hands of someone with no knowledge of photography will yield no good picture, the equipment is important, but the knowledge is even more important, this young man has a passion for it, he put efforts in mastering it, he clearly knows composition, framing etc, he even know the animals he is photographing, there are a lot of rich parents out there that buys things for their kids, some just buys random non beneficial material things for thousands of dollars and just sit there and do nothing..... so even though his photos might be better cuz of his fancy equipment, I think his images are great because of his passion and knowledge of photography and the fancy equipment is just there to help ....
You'd be surprised with people who have high end equipment and still wouldn't be able to snap photographs like this young boy. Seen many people who fork out loads of cash on expensive equipment and end up blaming it/wanting to upgrade right after because the images aren't looking as great or living up to their expectations. Yes everyone can pick up a camera and take photos, but to take something that is worth looking at, tells a story or able to grab people's attention requires knowledge, skills, patience and lots of trial and error.
Even i was a very passionate photographer at that age and had won many contests but fate was against me.... Had to leave ma passion apart and move on bcuz of financial problems .....but seeing this guy makes me happy ....
Hey dad, can I borrow your expensive camera gear? Oh and also let's go shoot wildlife that's literally next to where we live! Of course this kid would be shooting amazing photos. Everything was handed to him. Plus he lives in an area with wildlife. All he had to do was give a side of passion for photography and BOOM! he's an amazing photographer now. 😂 Anyways good for him tho!!
Yes not everyone hast wildlife around him. But if you are enthusiastic about photography living in a city you could be shooting architecture, lifestyle, skaters, dancers whatever and make good photos.

Well said
Man...I've been trying to shoot animals with a 15-45mm for almost a year now......
It's not an accident, since his father is a pro photographer.
@@evanchu479 get some Longer Lens ! 90 to 230 Zoom 500 mm ! What you have are considered Portrait lenses ! You could do some Macro Photography is you get the proper rings to attach to the body and Lens !
I'm 14 and I'm in my first show in two weeks, so cool to see us younger people making an impact too!
Agreed, but gear does matter quite a bit.
Yes his equipment is expensive, but clearly his father had a passion for it, its no different than a parent supporting a child's sport he seems like a nice kid. He will do great things for sure!
It isn't that expensive, the lens he uses, the Nikon 200-500 is about 1300-1500$ and the camera is a d7100 which is about 500-600$
Why is it always coming down to expensive equipment ? HE HAS TALENT !
_"what about his patience, persistence and love for his craft?"_
If you have the best equipment, this become irrelevant.

The Point would Also be ! WHO CARES how he got it ! The kid is a Good photographer !
This kid is rocking it!! This kid is a better photographer than most of them around.
Thank you!
He's already excellent at what he does. When he's an adult, I reckon he will be a world class photographer.
He is Now ! He probably won’t get much better than he is right now !
Of course it's a privilege having the opportunity to do that with 13 but anyway
the photos he takes and endurance he has being in the wilderness for couple of hours is still very impressive in my opinion.
so keep the good work up buddy!
A couple? He prob stays in wilderness all day often
It is a beautiful thing.
my dad is also a photographer! I’m proud of him!❤️
This is a very uplifting video to see, I my self am 13 and have been a videographer for 4 years, it really relieves me that there are other young people willing to take on practices such as this.
"By the time I was 7, I took it more seriously". Speechless.
I see a supportive father who didn't ignore his son's curiosity and quite the opposite - helped fostered a great passion in his son. That's nothing to hate on.
art students are always goodhearted and sees the world from different perspective
Look at all the haters and jealous comments!!!
Amazing work kid!
+Eduard Brichuk
The kit is only 2500$. I'd like to see you create the same photos in an afternoon with his camera.
Eduard Brichuk Bruh this kit he uses is about 2Gs
Not hate but I'm jealous how good he is. I'm good but not great.
Steve what lens does he have also camera? I want a good telephoto lens. Wanna be a sport's photographer
I love seeing teens being empowered in something that they discover they love to do!!!
Such a hugely talented young man thats obviously positively encouraged by his family. Well done and keep going!
this kids a beast, cant believe someone at 13 could be so skilled, knowledgable, and patient!
Seeing a lot of adults green with envy that this kid was blessed with some nice gear.
Jay Evans Right! Instead of encouraging him & being positive all they do is Whine. It’s pathetic
HEARING HIM SPEAKING TELLS A LOT ABOUT HIS PATIENCE...HE'S INDEED VERY CREATIVE and looks up to telling a story with his images rather than just clicking them and that's what i like him for
This kid is just living a dream, he has insane gear for being 13,
I’m 14 and have the Nikon D500 and Nikon 200-500mm🤷♂️. Photography is my passion so I use most of my money on it
@@pummelu3423 I’m 14 and have a Sony a7iii with a Sony 70-200 2.8

"Just photograph what you love " - It is simple message but absolutely true.
Vincent Pihlblad I agree you don't need good equipment to be a good photographer
So basically you need this 20K equipment otherwise you would be dead trying to get a close up shot of a bear with your phone hahahaha
Vincent Pihlblad literally i just commented the same thing and deleted after seeing this
Dudes unknowing training since he was a kid I got into photography when I was 15 and am still learning props to you dude
And yes It takes a lot if dedication to not give up, I had moments when I switched to 4 to 5 months not taking any pictures cause of my problems
But added to that the gear don't matter ( I mean it does but you have to keep up)
You have to have the perfect setting, the light, the shadow, the texture, the ISO etc... During that perfect shot cause you don't want miss the moment and he does it😮😮
you are very talented .keep up the good work and enjoy doing it.
This boy got very good understanding about Wild Life photography. Gears play vital role too. But understanding is very important & then comes gears. Kudos to the boy 👌
If this boy makes you uncomfortable, you got work to do
Or have parents that are extremely rich and give you all the best camera gear that goes over 10Gs? You have no idea how expensive equipment is and I'm pretty sure his parents are rich and have good advertising firms. Good luck with that statement. Any creative person with crazy skills can't even get shown on the internet unless someone advertises them heavily. This is a corrupt system. I've seen crazy designs and creative photographers that this kid won't even register within decades. You don't even understand.
MAX254 PICTURES 👏👏👏👏👏👏
+Eduard Brichuk
He's using a 7000 series which doesn't cost over 1000$, and the lens is about the same price.
Eduard Brichuk its not about the gear its about the photographer
Jealous much?
Awesome! With his love of nature, hiking and photography he will never feel like he's working. To find your passion at such a young age..
Proud of you young man. Hope you stick with it. It could become your life!
It IS his life...?
Josiah is awesome. And I'm glad to see a kid shooting wildlife without killing it!
that's where a photographer father get in role, normally a father wouldn't give his son a lens like 180-600mm when he was 7 LOL
I have never in my life heard of a 180-600mm. I don't even think that exists for any camera. there are some 150-600s, 200-400, 200-500 but no 180-600.
M.Janvier V that looked like three times a 600 mm lense
photography passion is one of the best 'Art of living'
Amazing what good parents and lots of money can achieve.
Would be nice to see some results from programs reaching out to more disadvantaged kids around the world.
Andy McGregor THANK YOU!
Andy McGregor too bad your parents raised you.
Mike Wazowski fucking shit love it well said
AWSOME!! IT'S NOT IMPORTANT HOW MANY YEARS OLD! And congratulation! for him.
He has an absolutely solid heart, a patience , a great eye!!
Buddy you are doing the linguistic transcription.
Matthias Peters 😂😂😂😂
RIP English
it died at last when english natives started writing "would of" instead of "would have."
at least the kid knows two languages
The real heroes here are this kid’s parents. I would like to congratulate them so much for supporting their kid’s gift.
Anyways, i wish god does some magic before it's too late !!!
stop being a victim and go do something instead, leave the shit hole you live in and go to another country to make money.
UlTrApLeX easier said then done.
Like American would say: “GET A JOB!!”
Multi verse I wish I could like this comment 1000 times.
You really have to have the right equipment to capture stunning Photographs. That's what matters too and which is apart from the patience levels off course that one should have
The gear don't mean shit , he has got talent ...period
Alex Ercole pssh.. use your talent with your iphone.. lets see him replacate his own photos with his iphone... oh right.. you cant.. im a photographer.. it was night and day when i swapped from an 80d to a 5d mark 3.. literally.. the next day i had a boosted portfolio..
tHe gEaR dOnt mEaN sHiT hE hAs gOt tAleNt ...pEriOd
SerenityPhotos Changing of the body means really nithing and please show me your Portfolio then
Okay kiddo, first of all: PSSH...many people use their talents with their iPhone and many have won competitions against pros with phone pictures- if you don't want to take my word for that, head over to 500px or fotolia and see for yourselves in the "smartphone" category.
Ofc you need a good eye for this but having a ultra expensive equipment helps a lot lol
Equipment is only 20% of the story. The rest is skill and an eye for the light and composition.
agree, for Wildlife, you should need telephotos and that's not a cheap lens...
If you are not willing to wait for the shoot, no amount of expensive equipment will help you become a good wildlife photographer.
if you know how to use photoshop like a boss, you wouldn't need as much expensive gear
Why would you think the gear he has is expensive?
I was already prepared to be disappointed but this is actually amazing
give this opportunity to many kids and they would be able to do this too. rich kid gets to use all the best gear.
Well the poor people should stop making children and ask for hand outs.
Shout out to his dad who took the time and patience to teach his son. Amazing pics!
Great. Very talented and really inspiring!!
Good in the kid, Instead of running the streets or sitting in front of a games consoles, his out taking brilliant photos, and sports a brilliant head on his shoulders... Keep it up young man
SMH, this kid started with THE BEST GEAR and Location.
Aarron Anderson yeah
Thank you!
How do you know if it's the best gear?? Do you even know anything about photography??
Yeah he has good equipment. But fancy equipment doesn't make you a good (and award-winning) photographer. You need to know about lighting, composition, how to use your equipment, how to color correct your images. You need a lot of effort and training to become good and also lots of motivation and patients to wait for the right moments in the wilderness. So his story is still amazing.
ILO EZY fancy equipment may not make you good, but it gives you a massive advantage over others
This kid has a great eye for the art! I bet he could do it with any camera.. his knowledge is pretty unique
GOOD EQUIPMENT SINCE EARLY AGE. And I bet GOO TRAINING too.
Edit: and GOOD PUBLICITY
beautiful work by a kid who has talent and the eye for it.
The reason being you need a fast telephoto lens which are hugely expensive.
you could use a less expensive lens and photoshop to produce those results
Simply superb. Some one commented foolish about good equipment. Remember the hands and brain behind it. Great job you smart boy. Congratulations Wow !
Did he say “I love bitcoin”? Lol
Fred Fonacier III dude I love shooting them block chains, crypto is aclose second
Lol
No lol bighorns
bitconnnneecccttttt
I heard acorn
Damn it feels good and weird to be inspired by a kid literally half my age. This guy is the future, and I'm very happy about that
This is like 20% actual talent and 80% expensive equipment.
Prince Melancholy how would you know how expensive his equipment is??
You have no idea what you're talking about.
agreed, but maybe not $30,000. I'm gonna try and save up for a £600 tamron 150-600mm, which is the standard focal length for wildlife and with a £500 body hopefully i'll be able to get some decent shots. of course, the lens the guy's using is probably at least $2000 but nowhere near $30000
Olaf Willner when youre into photography, you can start to tell what certain cameras and lenses are by looking at them
It takes years even a decade for some of hard work and dedication for a person to learn how to take professional-quality photos.
Absolutely wonderful! A young man with great ambition and admiration. Will be following his adventures.
Not trying to discourage the kid because he’s obviously good, but it’s kinda easy to get some shots like his with thousands of dollars of camera equipment.
Evan Beckett it’s not easy at all. Trust me. Photography is an art you have to practice to become good at it
M&GDubstep M&G to get consistently great photos yes. But this kid has 5k+ worth of gear that, without, he would absolutely not be considered an amazing photographer.
Photography is definitely a skill, but I wouldn't say he's amazing at it
not really, even with that you need to whait the animal to pop-up in the area you are waiting
Really shows that you know nothing about this subject
xxcsgokid channel he’s a great kid for having the passion and interest to pursue this subject, but it is true that having access to such a special landscape and such expensive equipment and a father who works professionally in this area is a large part of his success, I doubt he would be as successful without any of these things. The main reason these photos are great is because they are of beautiful animals that people rarely see, as oppose to his amazing talent. Still a talented kid though, with a bright future in the field most likely
Gear won't make you better photographer...skills of this kid need to be applauded.
Which camera and lens does he use?
He uses the Nikon d700, not sure what lens he is using, but it looks like one of the "middel class" telephoto zoom lenses (like the sigma 150-600mm)
Looks like a Nikon D7100 with some sort of 150-600mm lens.
007Stalled 7 200 500mm f5.6 Nikon
Matthew Hutchinson could be a D750 idk
The kit he is using is the Nikon D7100 + 150-600.
Amazing! "just go out and take the camera". The best advice!
Hi Luis. www.shutterstock.com/g/Antonia365?rid=3890936& here you can sell your photos
I love his passion, wish him the best!
i like him.
He is talented and spends a lot of time improving his skill.Thank you for showing the view which we cann't see in japan.
Hey, I have $ 10,000 camera equipment and animals out front..wining! :D
I bet he can spell too. Did you mean winning? or whining, because that's what you're doing.
$10,000 is far from what he has... His kit is only about $2500 brand new or $1500 second hand AUD at the moment :P
When i was 13, i play playstation all day lol
adri sadira same here. I do that now as well. lol
For all salty comments:
It's 100x times better to see this kid making beautiful peaceful pictures instead of wasting parents money on games/drugs/etc..
Great pictures! Good luck in future, kid!
well id love to do wildlife photography too, just dont have 2000$ :(
lol
same at me haahhah
Work for it then ;)
Devin Mindiya so figure out what you need to do in order to make it happen
Awesome, he's definitely had a lot of time to lear the craft, and I'm always happy to see young kids finding passion.
A Realist you can buy a 45-200 (90-400mm equivalent) on a Panasonic mirrorless camera for 130$. You can get that shot easily without buying a 12k lens
A Realist If it was a 600mm prime he was using then yes it would be about 13k but you can clearly see from the video that its a sigma 150-600, not sure exactly what version (sport or contemporary) but at most that lens is £1400 new
but you could probably get the contemporary used for about £600. No matter how good the gear is if you dont have the talent your not going to get pictures like his.
um, actually i think i might get a tamron 150-600mm next this summer, it's less than £1k
i dont know if you have heard about it but it actuely exists super zoom cameras that are pretty cheap and have these kinds of lenses (25-600) these cameras only go for around 400-600
Why would anyone dislike this kid video this kid is genius I guess you guys are jealous because you can't do what he's doing
He’s got talent but also he has over $3000 of gear....
sen freeman bruh gear doesn't equal skill all rookie think that
Exactly
It's a Nikon 7100 (with a battery pack on). Meaning that he started off with a mid-high end DX camera. Not full frame.
Mike Wazowski HOLY SHIT😂
When you have what you wanted to, and if you are grounded with what you have. That is wisdom.
Simply the dude has money for equipment.
Wow! That's absolutely amazing!
am i the only one why who ct udersta d how 13 year old can afford this gear???
klebestift kanal by the awards
Who cares he makes good pictures 😁
his dad's a photographer
Rich parents
Probably not. He must have wealthy friends or parents.
Absolutely stunning images Josiah. I can only dream of getting pics this good.
It also doesn’t hurt to have parents that give $10,000 lens to a 10 year old.
Awesome images , Josiah Launstein !! Congratulations and keep on going !!
Luck+ talent
Many people have talent but some have luck.
His pictures are awesome! However, He is very happiness for living at the great country and having wonderful gears to do this...
Keep shooting and be thankful. You are a lucky boy.
There are plenty kids outside can do a better job than him, they just need a equipments and support he got.
There are plenty people out there who can leave a better reply then you, they just need some positivity...
They have iPhones, Xboxes, gaming laptops, bunch of expensive crap, just not something that can produce good material. You can't buy passion.
none of his photos do that. His skill is predicated on his rich parents., the end
I think this is great. He's got a future ahead of him. I'll remember the name.
Step 1. Have rich parents who will buy you a cannon like lens and a og camera
Step.2 follow step 1
Even i was a very passionate photographer at that age and had won many contests but fate was against me.... Had to leave ma passion apart and move on bcuz of financial problems .....but seeing this guy makes me happy ....
Hey dad, can I borrow your expensive camera gear? Oh and also let's go shoot wildlife that's literally next to where we live!
Of course this kid would be shooting amazing photos. Everything was handed to him. Plus he lives in an area with wildlife. All he had to do was give a side of passion for photography and BOOM! he's an amazing photographer now. 😂
Anyways good for him tho!!
Gabmax101 lol well he did say he was Intrested when he was 5 soo I would be hating, he's pursuing somethibg and for that he got awarded.
Yes not everyone hast wildlife around him. But if you are enthusiastic about photography living in a city you could be shooting architecture, lifestyle, skaters, dancers whatever and make good photos.
Good for you, it’s awesome to see young man like you doing this kind of art work
