Have no knowledge about anything Mark does, but I still continue watch his videos. Maybe it's his personal charm that attracts me to keep following his channel.
@@mikem9403 such a wired response only gets me more energised! I know this conversation has a lot of potential, and I expect a shock here and there as the exchange in positivity continues 💥😁
Nice work Mark, I had to replace the inductor in a Sony CFS-9900 1985 boombox last week. The right channel was very low when recording. Dam inductor on the bias circuit was open.
Nice work, beautiful winding machine! That procedure where you heat the coil seems complicated, it's easier to drip wax from a lit candle (I have done this many times😊).
Those Peak Atlas component testers are really good! A bit pricey, but come with a great user manual, and generally well-thought out. I recently got the DCA75 for measuring semiconductors and I’ve spent the entire day curve-tracing every transistor I could get. Even found a few Zeners in my bin of diodes. It’s neat
I've dipped cheap guitar pickups into shellac to pot them. Easier than wax, but if the pickup ever gets damaged, it's hard to remove the shellac to repair it
I feel like one could possibly wind their own flyback transformer. These are becoming more and more unobtainable and are very bespoke for each application… often when the flyback goes it’s the end of the road for the tube. Not that it would be particularly easy as you’d have to know each secondaries polarity and output voltage but maybe..

The elegance of this video brought a tear to my eye... I have to say, I got all choked up.
It wasn't that emotional, I think you're winding us up.

@@darkstatehk Your puns are making me re-coil!
throws the manual away and says "trial and error" - the best! love it
Safe to say he induced a smattering of humor we can all enjoy. Good ones, guys and gals!! 👍😆😂
Good stuff Mark it a pleasure to watch you work. Cheers from Canada
Brilliant as always Mark! I hope I can engineer and 3D print a winder like that. Nice cool diy project 😊.
@3:35 ... wow, awesome! Well done Mark!
i love this happyman. so smart in electric
Yesterday i watched the last of the mend it set
Today a fresh one
Life is good🤘
always watch your videos Mark, excellent job.
Excellent workmanship as usual
Wild guess....... for speaker crossovers.
the power amp behind, caught my attention :)
defo what i enjoy repairing the most :)
Will definitely be watching
Wonderful winding machine…

Funny the meter looks like an old hand game consol ...
This is fantastic Mark, week done! _(this video sponsored but Singer Sewing Machines!)_
One could microwave the wax, but this was more fun.
yeah man, vintage style
very nice progress.. but yeah..... am curious what you have instore for these 1 mH chokes...
Very cool. Couldn't you have applied some shellac or other varnish or used bakeable wire?
WOW! excellent!

I want that machine! Where to get that nice piece of equipment?
HAHA ok so you made a separate video for it haha ignore my comment on the making of the tool lol :P Cheers!
New subscriber here, just wondering what video were these components used in?
You can start making guitar pickups with that old machine 👍
Could have painted on some clear lacquer during the winding process with a small acid brush and really stabilized the windings.
Please lab tour video next . And instruments explain.
Have a look at my previous videos, there is a Workshop Tour, ready to watch now! 👍
👍👍

'One' could but one must be sure to check for proper flyback with one's tongue.
But what repairs or new build are you using the coils in ... apperently no following videos you uses the homemade coils ???
I'm hoping the small wire diameter will be effective.
🙏👏👏👏🙏
impregnating with a few drops of varnish ...... easy task
Can't seem to find a machine with level wind.
