That corn is incredible! I love that you are real, totally fair enough to prioritise and its so hard to tackle everything. The hot sun and heavy rains in NSW are heaven for weeds! Thanks for your inspiration 😊💚
Thank you 😊 It's the speed of growth that get me 😆 At the start of a week I can comfortably walk through an area however, by Sunday I can no longer see the ground.😆 However having said that , the area I showed you this week has been neglected for a while. 🤦♀️😃😘 I'm just so grateful for all of the rain this Summer , I'll take the weeds with the beautiful Summer flowers and edibles. 💯 Thanks for watching again this week. Brenda 🌸🌸🌸
Thanks for watching , I almost deleted this video by accident 🤦♀️ I nearly had a heart attack thinking that I had lost all of the editing ! 😃 All good now 🌸
Happy Friday to you too 👋🌸 How's your Glass Gem corn coming on ? Have you harvested any of it yet ? I wish I had planted way more 😆 They're so fun to open 🌈
Sweet time in the garden with you!🙂 It's beautiful how the food you grow is as colorful as your lovely flowers. 🙂 Hopefully you get more of your produce this year than your arch enemy the fruit fly! Wishing you a great week! 🙂Thanks Bren!🙂
I'm so grateful for your support , thank you. I just need to figure out how I'm going to protect the rest of those chillis. I might pop online today to see if I can buy some mini fruit bags. Or maybe I could just cover the entire plant ? Ummm I figure something out.😃 Thanks for watching. 🌻Have a great week ahead x
Yep same here , I've never seen them like this where blue is the dominant colour. I hope I get more colours from the other plants 🤞 Thanks for watching 🌈
Those weeds out the front Bren, spray them with turps and they'll die almost overnight, I have a family of blue-tongues living at my place, when the babies grow up they also will raise their families here as well, they do there best to stray on top the snails and slugs but there's just too many at times, also the bluey's visit other yards around me too! The Queensland fruit fly took out all of what tomatoes I managed to grow, they stung them when the fruit very still green and very small and I didn't get my net bags on quick enough. Thanks for the update Bren. Seeya Rob
Thanks for the Blue Tongue lizzard info Rob. After I posted the video I had a thought that the one I saw may have been the same one I saw earlier in the week.😃 It was so tiny , I nearly stood on it. 🤦♀️ Thank goodness I didn't. Oh so it's possible that I could have a few of them in my garden in a couple of years , how cool is that 😎 Sorry that you lost all of your tomatoes , those flies are so sneaky. You don't notice them until its too late ! I was thinking I might need to cover the entire chillu plant , what would you recommend to stop the fruit flies ? What's turps Rob ? I haven't heard that in gardening before 😊 Bren 💕🌸
Glass gem corn is pretty ! I'm going to look for some seeds when I go to my favorite garden shop ,but to day I also started more seeds I'm hoping they will spout this time , good to see you sending you a big hug ,🥰❤
Hi Rosemary , it's always so lovely to hear from you. A trip to the garden centre sounds like a fun way to spend an hour or two. Hopfully you will be able to buy some of this corn. I'm just having my lunch now , then heading out to collect my eldest son from school. He has been away for a few days on camp. I'm looking forward to seeing him , although I know he will most probably be very tired 😊 Enjoy you weekend and happy sowing ! 💚💚💚
wow your garden is looking so beautiful! I just recently found out I actually have an australian bush at my house in Argentina when I saw a video of yours harvesting lilly pillys ! how weird is that!
Your glass gem corn looks great! I’ve got some seeds for it, must plant it and see how it goes. I did plant Aztec mountain corn last summer and it was beautiful too xx Cathi xx
Hi Cathi , I must give Aztec Mountain corn a go next year , how did you find it ? Honestly I had no idea until recent years that there were so many different varieties of corn. Back in Ireland I only ever saw yellow corn , my eyes have been open to a whole new world ! 😃 😘
Don't feel bad about the weeds!! If you've been watching my videos...my weeds are taller than the fence!! Waiting on a big drop of soaking rain to pull them up!! :-)!!
Muy buenas como siempre estoy de visita viendo tus videos apoyando mu Chos éxitos te deseo te dejo ese gran like 👍 de la huertita de Guille un fuerte abraso
Wow even your weeds look really healthy. I don't know how you do all you do when you have three kids to look after as well. Did you get a lot of your plant knowledge from Monty Don?
It can be really hard and frustrating at times trying to get anything done in the garden. I'm fortuate to be a stay at home mum with my 3 kids going to school during the week. So technically I've got 30 hours at home by myself. But having said that I've got so much to do. My kids have heaps of after school activities so I try to prep/ make dinner during the day , one of my kids has alot of medial appointments, cleaning and other commitments. It's crazy busy but I do work well under pressure. I proritise garden jobs . For example not worrying too much if an area is overgrown , it can wait because sowing seeds for Autumn needs to be done before next week. Also the wild cottage garden style is perfect for my lifestyle . For example I don't need to spend time trimming hedges or having perfectly straight garden bed edging. Also I think when you have a passion for sometime you make time. Every spare minute I'm outside. The garden is the first place my family check when they're looking for me. 😃 I have to admit some weeks I don't feel like making any content for social media but I know that you all look forward to seeing what I have been up too. That motivites me to record videos and take photos.Plus I made a commitment to myself to post a garden update every Friday . It's a great way for my family back in Ireland to get a taste of my life here in Australia , they all watch my videos. There's alot more I could add but I hope this gives you an idea of how I try to do it Xx
The gardening gene is in my family , it goes back generations 😃 So I probably learned about as a youngster , even from visiting my parents friends gardens too. Monty Don is a wealth of knowledge , yes he has taught me heaps too. But I truely believe that you can know all the plant theory in the world but it's when you get your hands dirty , trying to grow the plants yourself and often making mistakes , that you learn the most.
@@ggthegardengirl yes agree! my parents are natural green thumbs as they grew alot of produce back in niue island so they have a lot of knowledge- and I’ve learnt so much from you aswell so growing plants veggies flowers etc comes natural along with a myriad of problems issues etc etc ⭐️🌈⭐️💟💟
You guys out in Australia deal with so much more pests then my fellow Californians. Only issue I have are the regular green tomatoes Catapiller, aphids n white flies.
Gg the garden girl is a lovely garden 🏡🌸👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much 😊💕🌸

Definately worth giving up some space in your garden to grow it. Thanks for watching 🌻🌈

Could you do a video explaining your composting system vs your worm farm system. Followed you on tiktok for a while and only found your RUclips today!
Do you have the seeds of glass gem corn?
Not rats. Ear worms.
