EXO really goated with Monster. They had a concert where they opened with Mama, Monster, and Wolf back to back, and it was freaking amazing.
I think bc of the increase in intensity of dancing in later years, the older songs don’t hold up as well in comparison to difficulty. But I def agree that was an intense performance! Also was surprised Everybody was not considered LOL
I think sherlock at 2013 GDA is more impressive, the vocals are turned way up and it has one of the most active choreos, whenever a member has a line theres individual choreo at the same time
EXO's: Drop That, Run This, Keep on Dancing, Bring Out the Beast, Two Moons, Transformer, Lightsaber, Machine, Monster, and legendary Wolf. Others are: EXO-CBX singles, etc.
I see some comments saying "this group's song is harder" but let us not forget and remind ourselves that songs that have fast and complicated choreographies are most likely not live. Most kpop songs that lean heavily on heavy dancing are NOT MEANT to be sang live but more on entertainment purposes. No vocalist in this world could dance fast and sing like it sounds so smooth and clean with no inconsistencies.
This is so true, you need to have a good balance in order to be able to give a good live performance. What's the point of an impressive choreography if they never sing live?
Ateez solved that by giving their main vocal special parts of the choreo that let him catch his breath. I've watched almost all of their concert performances and they're all so good!! (Must watch if u want to actually appreciate their live vocals) 3. Yasss! Ofc Ateez and Dreamcatcher are basically sibling grps from different companies! When u said about being torn, i was thinkinh maybe another song of them or maybe another group like Seventeen. @riahlexington Key was vocal line, dance line, and rap line since debut. He may not be Onew or Jonghyun but he's always been a good vocalist and dancer.
@@riahlexington Key was also good during debut, and Minho was rapping so he was fine, the only one who had trouble and obviously improved a massive amount was Taemin, but only in vocals, he was already the best dancer, he just hadn't learnt to sing yet.
@@riahlexingtonof course..minho improve d vocally..but also,in earlier songs,he mostly raps..so he was fine..and key was good since debut..he was vocal line and he always had stable live vocals and was so good at it since debut..so as a grp, they were strong in live performances..
During his solo comeback this year, an interviewer asked Onew about the difficulties of singing and dancing live. He literally was like “I don’t know how to answer this. It’s something we’ve always done” 😂
During second gen, I remember thinking most groups were lip syncing and I was fine with it because they were dancing but then I saw a Shinee performance (can’t recall the song) and was shocked that they were singing live and dancing and it raised my standards.
Many of today's kpop groups are more focused on their choreography vs their vocals. This is why I have always preferred 2nd gen and SOME 3rd gen kpop. Vocals were EVERYTHING, and choreography came second. Even if you danced better than the rest, those idols still had to be proficient at singing. And like Xiumin said, "If you can't sing well, no matter how good you are at dancing, you won't look talented." Personally, I fell in love with kpop because groups used to focus a lot on singing. And among SM, all groups had to sing really well AND dance really well. If one was better at one or the other, other members would balance them out. SHINee and EXO are groups that have been successful because they really value the vocal aspect of being a group and have never stopped wanting to improve and grow. Both groups give it their 200% when performing, and that includes dancing really well, rapping really well, singing REALLY well, and bringing stage presence at every performance. As the video said, being able to have control of the stage while singing and dancing at 100%, is incredibly difficult to do.
YESSS I was expecting ateez, and I was so happy when I saw you put halazia here because, yes, it is seriously hard to perform, and they deserve the recognition so much ♡♡♡
Thank you for recognizing ATEEZ. They have trained very hard to remain stable during demanding choreo. In their training days they would sing while jogging and jumping. KQ, their company, wanted to ensure that this would be something that would separate them from other groups, and something they could be known for. Truly impressive.
Hard is song that shows SHINee's expertise. You need to have their expertise to do it and they did it perfectly. Even if the choreography isn't brutal for SHINee's standard, you need great vocalists, rappers and performers to do it. Plus Hard isn't even the common SHINee genre yet they completely dominated the sound. SHINee things.😮
I watched an individual fancam of Good So Bad and thats when I really realized HOW complicated the choreo and formations can be. In addition to the high pitch range vocals for the chorus which is already so hard
Some ppl might be upset about this but I'd argue that Cream Soda is FAR harder to perform than Monster. Just watch the dance practice, it's EXHAUSTING. It's almost non-stop moving, formation changes & requires a hell lot of stamina. But aside of the choreo, the song itself vocally is extremely difficult to cover. What BG song requires u to sing the same 3 prechorus & 3 chorus in high upper register with runs, & overall vocal range stretches wide with F2 - E5 - A5 & extremely fast runs? That's INSANE.
@@sliverhalo9286 there's a live where chanyeol messed up the lyrics into dumb dumb dessert 😂. Cream soda choreography is hard too. But I guess monster covers more vocal areas.
ZB1 are such a talented group. It always breaks my heart when I remember they're a temp group. For a beginner group to hold their own as much as they can like that... For Wakeone to hit such a jackpot group like that. Their potential is so great and I wish they'd have more time together but I can't wait to see them in the future
SHINee’s HARD performances from their encore concert in May were amaaaazing. I’ve been so impressed with their commitment to singing that song live. But aren’t there older SHINee songs that are even more difficult to perform than HARD? Like I know they don’t sing DCM with live vocals, but songs like Sherlock, Everybody, and Lucifer they definitely have performed live and the choreo is more difficult and intense as well. Also, fyi, I understand that in the context of the video you meant that SHINee “performs as 4” but I don’t recommend referring to them as a “4 member group” as both they and their fans still very much think of them as 5.
@riahlexington Personally I haven’t seen any DCM performance with live vocals from their concerts, so I don’t think they ever do, but could be wrong. Typically in concert they do a section for their dance-heavy songs with very limited live vocals. Like they might sing a few lines of some of those songs live, but mostly it’s prerecorded. And then they do other sections with exclusively live singing. So the only DCM live vocals I’ve ever personally seen were in music show encore stages and they did an amazing job with it in that context, so I’m not really sure why they never attempt to sing it live. Maybe the dance just makes it too strenuous 🤷♀️
@ oh that makes sense. Encore stages don’t have full dance though. They do sing some lines in the dance heavy songs though even everybody. I guess they meant not completely live but nothing in K-pop is especially dance heavy. Now I want someone to find me a live performance of advice. That choreography scares me.
@@kyedo- I thought it was weird too, whoever follows SHINee knows they perform live at least once, and to say that is not even fair, they barely do lypsinc with the exception of permorning new songs when promoting. I thought he would mention Lucifer, Sherlock, Everybody.. There is simply not only ONE hard song performed live by the kings!
@@kyedo- I think he meant he couldn't find a performance of Don't Call Me that was live that he could use. They sang it live in encores on music shows, but not during music show performances (for whatever reason, probably SM). Maybe no good fancams? exo released songs only them can sing live ....when i was waiting for their exist comeback, i thought like ok they are going to release trendy, easy to cover song this time like they finally can chill after 11 years in the industry no stress BUT NO. That Monster performance is insane. Jong-in said that they're almost screaming while singing because they can't hear their own voices in their in ears. The fan chant is also so loud and wild ❤❤
For me, SHINee was the first to come out with difficult choreography. I don't even know how they made it through "Everybody". I was exhausted just watching it.
Yo amo monster con toda mi alma, me alegra que hayas elegido esa canción. Recuerdo muy bien esa presentación, lo hicieron muy bien. Anhelo que la puedan interpretar nuevamente algún día

I really got fooled by Good So Bad. I thought I could dance like them just because I think it's easy 😭 but I can't. I tried to dance but there's no fk way I could dance like them . And also I got exhausted and can't even sing
I can't believe we won't see another monster performance, imo there's no one who can create another song like monster or tempo and this is a big loss for Kpop
I knew 5th gen's was gonna be zb1 but I thought it was going to be kill the romeo, like that choreo is HARD. But tbh I'm only a dancer and I know 0 to none about when a song is difficult in vocals so maybe it isn't as difficult to sing as gsb
SHINee are known as the performance kings and CDNee for a reason. They have many more difficult songs to perform live both among title tracks and b-sides, HARD Is far from actually hardest lol. For instance, take this recent performance at Hangout With Yoo! ( ruclips.net/video/bKn-CVh7D2o/видео.html ) where they performed Sherlock, HARD, Lucifer and Ring Ding Dong 3 of which were BACK TO BACK with NO breaks in between, only a short talking break after Sherlock and they still sounded so powerful. You can clearly hear them breathe into the mics on this one with a minimal backing track. Or 'All Day All Night' one of their b-sides from 6 years ago, it's among their most difficult choreographies and they mostly performed it live ON MUSIC SHOWS which is pretty much unheard of nowadays and even back then barely anyone else could attempt it: ruclips.net/video/jGTxKKdoBQ4/видео.html
SHINee's song, All day all night (b-side) that song is hard to sing and the choreography is also hard, a lot of moves and fast, and SHINee was performing that song with live vocal ofc
EXACTLY, and they performed it live with a minimal backing track even on music shows, this was of course 6 years ago when it was still possible to find performances like that but not many groups could attempt it at all.
SHINee’s hardest title track to perform live would no doubt be Everybody. 3 tenors and 1 baritone, all sustained C5’s. Choreo is super demanding physically too
Even though they are not from SM, I always thought that Zb1 had the vocal demands that SM asked for in their previous groups. After Exo, the groups lowered their vocal quality😢
@@Dkfujxhx I don’t really agree that SM lowered vocal quality after EXO. Like NCT and Aespa still have some great vocalists. It’s more that they’ve shifted to doing fewer live vocal performances so you don’t get to hear them sing as much. But that change was pretty much industry-wide and not exclusive to SM. But I do agree that for 5th gen ZB1 is the best vocal boy group overall.
@@bantacissokho3500 I think Jiwoong is better than him but not so much difference, it's not hating, it's admitting the truth, they need improvement in singing. The rest of the members are amazing singers, especially Hao and Taerae.

3. Yasss! Ofc Ateez and Dreamcatcher are basically sibling grps from different companies! When u said about being torn, i was thinkinh maybe another song of them or maybe another group like Seventeen. But totally deserve to be placed here! They continuously amaze me w their aura and talent during live perfs. I also hoped seventeen is here tho lol.
4. Yass ZB1. Altho im not that into the group yet, i appreciate their talent and potentials. I saw their concert perfs and i feel proud as someone who knew them from Boys Planet.
SHINee that good since debut? Jonghyun and Onew yes, the others improved a lot
@ I see, I meant Minho and Key I think improved in vocal definitely Minho did
@@riahlexingtonof course..minho improve d vocally..but also,in earlier songs,he mostly raps..so he was fine..and key was good since debut..he was vocal line and he always had stable live vocals and was so good at it since debut..so as a grp, they were strong in live performances..
People who say you can't sing well while dancing hard need to see Shinee lol. They are the epitome of skill.
During his solo comeback this year, an interviewer asked Onew about the difficulties of singing and dancing live. He literally was like “I don’t know how to answer this. It’s something we’ve always done” 😂
Sherlock live performance still amaze me
During second gen, I remember thinking most groups were lip syncing and I was fine with it because they were dancing but then I saw a Shinee performance (can’t recall the song) and was shocked that they were singing live and dancing and it raised my standards.
They actually went for a training (running) and were singing all during it and I know it was in their early days.
I was thinking of this! They went running and practiced singing as they ran@@majita9385
After seeing Halazia live, I 1000000% agree!! Literally a life changing performance.
As the video said, being able to have control of the stage while singing and dancing at 100%, is incredibly difficult to do.
all of shinees title tracks are just insane
We demand a single video appreciating more of SHINee's songs live, there are a bunch and the Kings are really the standard! Who is with me lol
Me
Yes please! I would love for him to go on about how good Shinee's live vocals and performances are on a full length video!😆
Truly impressive.
exo and zb1 my 3rd and 5th gen ults 🫶🫶🫶
Hard is song that shows SHINee's expertise. You need to have their expertise to do it and they did it perfectly. Even if the choreography isn't brutal for SHINee's standard, you need great vocalists, rappers and performers to do it. Plus Hard isn't even the common SHINee genre yet they completely dominated the sound. SHINee things.😮
11:11 VOCALBASEONE bringing back boygroup excellency, their skills are impressive
Shinee are untouchable in live vocals at ANY choreo which is always crazy, eternal performance kings !!! 5 vocalists, 5 dancers, 5 visuals ❤❤❤❤❤
The backtrack in MMA 2016 EXO performance was so low. You can literally hear their harsh breathing. Proud to be a baby EXO-L !!!
I watched an individual fancam of Good So Bad and thats when I really realized HOW complicated the choreo and formations can be. In addition to the high pitch range vocals for the chorus which is already so hard
Fun fact: they are my favorite boygroups from each generation (EXO is my ult group). Yes, I stan talent
Same here! I stan talent... so it's EXO
Yes❤
Cream Soda is a Monster of a song indeed
I think it may have not been included because of it not being performed live
@@sliverhalo9286 there's a live where chanyeol messed up the lyrics into dumb dumb dessert 😂. Cream soda choreography is hard too. But I guess monster covers more vocal areas.
@sliverhalo9286 they've performed that live tho
ZEROBASEONE THE 5TH GENERATION IT BG FOR A REASON
04:50 - "don't be afraid~ EXO's the wayyy~" ahahah the way you sang the intro I KNOW THAT'S RIGHT
oh zb1 🥰 feel proud to see them here 😂❤
Yay shinee!!! I thought i was gonna see Everybody as their hardest song! Please check it out
Shinee performed Hard live at Kpop Lux Madrid 2022 if ever ♥ very great video !
ZB1 are such a talented group. It always breaks my heart when I remember they're a temp group. For a beginner group to hold their own as much as they can like that... For Wakeone to hit such a jackpot group like that. Their potential is so great and I wish they'd have more time together but I can't wait to see them in the future
ikr...

i hope they get an extension like kep1er!

EXO GOT THE BEST LIVE PERFORMANCES i swear
Monster, the Mount Everest of K-Pop! YES! I AGREE!!!!
Not just monster good luck with any exo's song😅
They don’t do DCM live in concert? That seems odd. I know about music shows but concert too?
Cant have a hardest vocal/dance without Shinee lol
What does he mean he couldn’t find a live performance? Was the example he used not live?
@kyedo- I'm not sure what he meant by that either. It sounded mostly live with backing tracks?
@ yea that’s what I figured too
@@kyedo- I thought it was weird too, whoever follows SHINee knows they perform live at least once, and to say that is not even fair, they barely do lypsinc with the exception of permorning new songs when promoting.
And with Onew being on hiatus when they toured last year...I can see why he might have had difficulty finding a good version that wouldn't get blocked.
exo released songs only them can sing live ....when i was waiting for their exist comeback, i thought like ok they are going to release trendy, easy to cover song this time like they finally can chill after 11 years in the industry no stress BUT NO. THEY RELEASED FREAKING CREAM SODA LMAOOOO I was like "WTF is this?how are they going to dance and sing this live?" but of course EXO IS EXO. They are special.
Very good choices! Thanks for talking about Ateez this time. 🎉
shinee exo and ateez are the kings of live
All of these options are so accurate , but I think it would be better if you chose one of Shinee's songs with Jonghyun , cause it's 5hinee ❤ and also EXO with Lay ❤ I adore these songs , as a Shawoleri I'm really happy to watch this video 😊 and also love Ateez , but as I mentioned before , Shinee is always 5 and EXO is ot9 ❤😊
This video has a perfect explanation for monster tbh 😩
When I watched your GG version of this video and you said you are open to doing the Boy groups one I expected of seeing EXO in it.
Shinee!!
Exo people l always don't understand how they can be this perfect ❤
ZEROBASEONE ARE SO GOOD
EXO has so many songs that are very hard to perform
Exo really has difficult performances from earlier years of debut. Monster and its fanchant never fails to give me goosebumps
It is the way everyone think diff songs for SHINee..i thought it will be everybody, lucifer or sherlock..and again, their whole discography is difficult..well they were the one who introduced difficult choreography to kpop..even their bside such as all day all night, excuse me miss, stranger etc r difficult to perform
So true for Zerobaseone's Good so Bad
EXO really makes me proud of their powerful live performances. They’re mostly even better than the studio versions! 😍
I really got fooled by Good So Bad. I thought I could dance like them just because I think it's easy 😭 but I can't. I tried to dance but there's no fk way I could dance like them . And also I got exhausted and can't even sing
Don't feel discouraged, Gyuvin can't sing the song either.
Love when you bring boy groups!
Exo realmente tiene tantas canciones con unos vocales increíbles 😮
Dreamcatcher and ATEEZ share producers actually!
Monster is off charts... this performance is just insane and difficult
My Ateez and ZB1 ❤
EXO love me right especially comes to mind. Specifically D.O’s parts.
SHINee’s hardest title track to perform live would no doubt be Everybody. 3 tenors and 1 baritone, all sustained C5’s. Choreo is super demanding physically too
im surprised he didnt choose everybody for shinee
Sorry but Gyuvin, Ricky and (unfortunately) Yujin couldn't survive a single day in SM.
@@chenles_defenderI'm pretty sure if Jiwoong can Ricky can too so i dont see your point and your supposed to be a zerose not an hater
@@bantacissokho3500 I think Jiwoong is better than him but not so much difference, it's not hating, it's admitting the truth, they need improvement in singing. The rest of the members are amazing singers, especially Hao and Taerae.
@@chenles_defender jiwoong is not a better vocalist than ricky by any means and mind you ricky is a better vocalist than 6/7 of NCT dream and 4/6 of riize he would hold himself just FINE in SM. Even with gyuvin and yujin there are several idols under SM who have the same vocal skills as them 🤷🏼♀️
Vocal wise, Cream Soda is now harder to perform than Monster I think.
me, as a #shineexo enthusiast watching this: 😎
halazia might be the greatest song ateez ever released tbh
BAEKHYUN "cry for love" is also very difficult song
It's the entire Bambi album for me. All I got is glorious with the high notes
instead of Monster, i'm more intrigued if EXO's CREAM SODA will be covered properly or will ever be used in any survival show 😂
I think the same ❤😂😂
