- If you have a lot of bulbs to plant, I recommend using a bulb auger, which is a spiral metal screw-like attachment that drives right in the ground and leaving a perfect hole for the bulb. And it loosens the soil at the same time, something that will help the bulb root more readily.

I just made my own auger out of a ground anchor. Rattled through 100 or so bulbs in about half an hour!
lol who’s coming up the Hill.
Buddy the wonder bulldog!
How do you buy a farm
I see your doing this while bulbs are not n bloom? I've got some here in GA that are dense but sparsely blooms ng. I'm assuming they're overcrowded? So I can dig them and thin and relocate them now in April, I'm assuming. Thanks for the tool tip.
Yes, indeed, you can, and yes, they are likely overcrowded. Mine were growing in deep shade as the trees around them grew, so they quit blooming but still had nice foliage. When you separate them now, it gives them a chance to photosynthesize and produce "fuel" for the bulb and blossoms next year. And once you plant them, give them a nice watering to settle the bulbs in, and let the leaves stay on until they completely die back, even if unsightly for the time being. Good Luck!
Nice video Tom, where did you get your auger and how long is it, much thanks.
Hi Gary, I'm using Heavy Duty Bulb and Bedding Plant Auger 28 In. Long by 2.75 In. Diam. for a standard drill. I bought it on Amazon.
