I love the view of the green paddocks......We own an inexpensive caravan and sometimes I need my husband to drive it to a small country town a few hours away from suburbia where I stay with my elderly mother for a week just to get a break from city life. We can't afford a holiday home so this is the next best option.
Hi Chris your new place is looking great!! Can I suggest re the IBC for Neveah -use the bottom half and then it will be easier to empty and clean using the tap. Also with Prickles room you said the slider was an odd size for a screen. I see it has a PA door so could you just screw a securityscreen door over it on the outside and open from inside? We did this for a large long window to stop our cats escaping through it. You are very resourceful so Im sure youve probably thought of this already!! 🤣🤣 nothing like unsolicited advice from the masses!! 😇🤪
Chris I am interested in your septic system and lay out. You mention the circle in the yard is part of the system. Different then what we have in the U.S. Peaked my interest.
The circle is a big tank underground and from there it has an overflow drainage system so the fluid in it can seep away (seepage trench type thing). So, both toilets flow into it. I haven't as yet found out where the grey water from the house goes, still looking for that one. The grey water from the studio is the one I have to fix as it has broken and is not set at the right angle for the even flow. It back flushes up the shower drain. I have to redo it. LOL
I love your garden ,you are going to be able to make quite a variety of jams 😋 it's going to be a real self sufficient farm very soon I can't wait to see it how it all looks in the future ❤❤❤

If his room has a window you could build an enclosure and he could use the window as his way to get in and out. Just a thought.

But they lay an egg every day. At some point do you have to bring in a rooster again to impregnate and start the cycle all over? Inquiring city minds want to know, lol. Most people just leave a Rooster in with their chooks for protection and also for obvious breeding. Some will remove the Rooster from time to time if they don't want brooding hens, but it up to each individual person. I don't need a rooster as I won't be breeding chickens.

If you do have a rooster, eggs need to be collected daily and kept in a cool place before being used so that they won't develop into chicks.
There are quite a few trees of nuts I believe so will be selling them if I can. I have no idea what to do with the olives as I don't eat them, and I don't know what sort they are. I am sure friends and family will help pick to get some free fruit. LOL

He originally lived in the cats donga, before he built the sheds and the house. No one has ever lived in the house although it has been finished for a couple of years, until I moved in. The previous owner passed away from Cancer in Palliative care and his family sold it. I was lucky to get such a nice place with most of the work done. He was here for quite a few years as the trees in the orchard have been here a while.

Also be weary of histoplasmosis that dogs can get from bird droppings etc.
