I'm watching this wearing one right now - I live in Scotland in an old farm house and am sitting is a draughty room with a can of beer ;-) My one is about 10 years old and doesn't have pockets or the ability to detach the part at your feet so thinking about buying a newer one, highly recommended!

Good video. Just ordered one today actually and to my surprise, there arent a whole lot of videos on this product. My reason for it, which you can add to your list, would be hammock camping comfort. I find in a hammock while trying to roll over, the bag gets twisted and creates odd cold spots. This system should make hammock camping for restless sleepers, much more comfortable
    Nice review.

Great piece of survival gear to carry in the vehicle, for those cold weather drives!!

I've had one for a few years. I hunt private land and I keep mine in a sealed 5 gallon pail in my blind during deer and bear season. I can walk in and out without getting sweaty. Then pull on the camo Selk bag once I've cooled off and be toasty warm while sitting. It's friggin great!!!

You mention one advantage is if you have to leave the tent to take a leak, but I see no zipper to allow for that. Don't you still have to at least partially remove the suit to do that?

I've heard of Selk Bag. Whether you hunt, fish, or do anything outdoors, understandably you want something to keep you warm and dry when you're outdoors.

Thnx for the nice review, have a Q about sizing: I’m 6’-0” 190 lbs/184cm 85kg should I get L or XL? What is your size? XL Seems kind of snug fit when you’re sitting-how about sleeves? I’m thinking to get the Lite Selk’bag basically for indoors mostly sitting behind the PC for temps around 50F/10C wearing a tee and boxers or maybe add a thin pyjama so it feels comfy sitting without many layers that restrict movement. You’re wearing the Original and said better all zippers open, what kind of temperature was when you made the video and how did it feel wearing for longer periods did it get warmer? I think the Selk’bag is a great idea to beat the high energy bills, last winter I didn’t use the heater at all wearing layers but noticed when you’re sitting for long periods you feel cold easily and also normal clothing is not so effective trapping in the body heat as the Selk’bag I think.

Is there a similar product you'd recommend for colder weather? Thanks for the review from a fellow Canadian

I think it's fine as-is. I wore it this year for deer hunting and it was anywhere from -5 to -18C.

Perfect to re-enact A Christmas Story! Then you visit their website and discover the Star Wars collection. Adriel, you should have asked for the Wookie one ...

Looks like a 1 piece snow ski suit. Which i loved wearing. You could go skiing in your underwear and be nice n cozy even when just lying down on the snow.

Thanks for the video! How realistic is it for backpacking? Prepping for a hunting trip and love the flexibility of this thing.

I wouldn't use it for an ultralight backpacking/hiking trip because it'll be bulkier and heavier than a regular sleeping bag. For a trip where you'll be hiking a shorter distance or don't need the backpack space, it'd be great.

I think it would be great with a masquito hood in the evenings

Did you find the groin/ thigh region to be overly snug? Is this the G6 model?

    • @Huntinggearguy
      @Huntinggearguy  5 лет назад

Nah, lots of room in the thigh area. and yes, this is the original G6.

Umm...how exactly do you pee? I don't see any front zippers....do you have to get out it?

    • @Huntinggearguy

There's an angle zipper on the front that you can zip up from.
