Very insightful, love this!! Just wanted to say Psalm 37: 4 "delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of youre heart" ties greatly to this teaching. This verse doesn't necessarily mean He's answering our prayers on the things [we think] we want but instead He's setting those desires.... only once we find delight in Him first. Have a blessed week!!
This is so good praise God I thought that too that Sin comes from temptation not knowing there are deferent stages that it leads of it. The enemy really wanted me not knowing the truth about sin I feel like pastors are not really explaining it like they should and the seriousness of it. Desiring sin more than Jesus and the Gospel.
Bro, this is awesome. You are such a genuine and authentic messenger for Christ. For 2 years I've had a struggle with sexual immorality. For 2 years I kept thinking that temptation lead to sin, but you have proved me wrong and opened up my mind to the truth, my desire was not of Christ, I thrived in sin. But now through God's grand design, from me subscribing to you, from me seeing the You tube notification of this video, I clicked on it, and God spoke his illuminating word. Thank you!!!
This is good food for thought. Lord please change my desires so that I want You and nothing else. After listening to this I realize: The desires are wants, not needs. God already takes care of my needs. It is up to me to want for Him alone. I can't change needs (ie food) but I can change wants (ie gluttony aka drowning emotions in creature comforts instead of the Holy Spirit our Comforter aka making a gold calf/idol because we think God has abandoned us or taking too long to help us aka thinking we are wiser than God and listening to the serpent twist truth and lead us to anxiousness). Thanks for sharing this insightful message. We have to deal with the root of the problem. God bless you! 🙏✌ Shalom
You have just open my mind in way that no one can ever immagine. What you said about desiring Jesus more than our sinful desires is very much true. Thank you very much Bro. David. I wish there were people like you around me.
This book is Amazing. I just finished it and I’m blown away by it. Was unable to leave a write up on my audible, so I’ll just drop it here Wow! Wow! Wow! This book is just wow! Thank you for writing this book David. Now I understand how sin works in my life, where it comes from and how to fight it by desiring God. Chapter 1-3 for me laid the ground for the hardcore punches that were given in the rest of the book. It went to a whole new level from chapter 8. If there’s one ultimate thing I’ve been equipped to do as a result of this book, it’s to see Jesus has my shepherd, know that only he meets our every need and even surpasses them. Because of this, I can boldly say “I shall not want” God bless you richly
@@SpokenGospel Another WOW! Hoo my! Can't believe i got a reply from you. Thank you! Your meticulousness and passion for God inspires me so much. I pray that men will continually draw strength not only from your actions of faith, but also your results of faith. May you be truly satisfied in him. God bless you David
There is something utterly profound here. I am constantly drawn to his message, over and over again. Please get his book 📚. I've purchased the material twice and given the book away , twice. Now, I'm going to purchase it again and keep it:))
I think by resisting the devil we are submitting to God. By fully putting our trust in God and continually exercising our faith, we will grow in Him and gradually finding our satisfaction in Jesus and fully relying on Him. Instead of giving into the devil and believing his lies. I hope that helps. 🙏🏻
Well...you have a new subscriber. This was sooooo powerful. I am grateful to Jesus for allowing you to teach and lead through HIS principles straight from the Word. I know I love Jesus more than sin, that's why I fight everyday to seek Him over myself and the world. We struggle but He will carry us based on our hearts condition. Let Him heal us....he loves us. Thank you Jesus Christ always and forever 💜💜💜
I'm sorry but, just bc I sin, doesn't mean I hate Jesus. I love Jesus with all my heart. But as a human being we still commit sin in our lives. But that is why we have the Holy Spirit living inside us, to convict us of our sins which in turn makes us remorseful for our sin. If we weren't remorseful, I think that would mean we are against God and seek after the things of this world. But for one to commit A sin, is different than living a lifestyle of sin. That is why Jesus died on the cross. So we could be forgiven of our sins...seventy x seven. We may stumble, but God picks us up before we fall if we are truly devoted to God. Be blessed...I'm rewatching all of your videos in my plan so that I can get more out of your teaching! 🙂
Once again, you've totally impressed me! This time its with the explanation of why we commit sins! I can hardly wait for Session 2 of this lesson; however, I will wait until tomorrow for it. Meanwhile, I'm going to go to the YouVersion plans and see if there's anymore lessons from the Spoken Gospel that I haven't read yet and put them in my "Saved Plans" to add to my daily readings as I finish ones I already am doing. I'm already a subscriber; it didn't take long to do that either. If memory serves, I believe it was after the 1st, or maybe 2nd one I started. You really know your Bible very well and I hope and pray I'll continue to find more and more plans as time goes by. God bless!!
@@SpokenGospel Thank you and I must tell you I appreciate you all at the Spoken Gospel, more than mere words could possibly say!! I look forward to more Bible Plans; can't seem to find any new videos to which I haven't listened, except of course this current Plan that I will be playing tomorrow, and reading the attached Scriptures to part 2 of the plan. Have a wonderful rest of the day and God bless all! Shalom!

I guess I'll have to keep watching....interesting assertion, but manufacturing a new or greater desire in order to change what we yearn for seems like a proposition equal to or greater than the ole "Self Dicipline" approach
