Magnificent as always, the Alps hold such a special place in our hearts! 🇩🇪 Next up, we’re wrapping up our adventure in Germany with a storybook trip to the world famous Black Forest! 😁 Stay tuned for our Germany series finale!!! For your next trip to the bavarian alps, consider a visit to the Eng Alm past Hinterriß. You drive a very picturesc toll road from Wallgau, through the Isar valley (in summer people tend to sunbathe on the pebble beaches in the valley). The trip ends in a valley with maple trees that give shade to the cows and at the very end is a hotel and restaurant from where you can start your hikes into the alps. Its very beautiful
You are for sure the nicest, sweetest Americans I've ever seen! We'd love if you moved to Germany or Austria, that would be so cool! Also, I love how much you guys read now. :)
Gahhh we loved the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area. It is amazing to see it all lush and green! 😍 Totally agree on the craftsmanship in Germany-that was one of our big observations too!
As usual it's a beautifully shot and spirited video but with a lot of personal touches especially when Claire had a hard time getting through the entrance which made me laugh so hard because I do that too sometimes
Wow it means so much to us that you like what we do enough to support us with your own money. Thank you very much and we both hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
So breath taking views. Looks fun miniature golfing The castle is amazing Ekster wallets are awesome. I got one for my husband and my son already had bought one. A lot of the guys that my husband works with got one after my husband got his. Glad you two enjoy them
I was also hoping to someday do an Antartica cruise expedition aboard the Intrepid! Maybe a stroll through Patagonia, then head down to board the ship, ride the rough waves of the drake passage then set foot on the most exotic continent on the planet 🌏
Yes!!!! I’m down for that plan as well! We just gotta sell 3 more spots on our Taiwan trip before we can start planning the next one! 😁😁😁 how long of a trip would you want for the Dolomites?
@@ChadandClaire I’m glad you’re close to filling the Taiwan trip! I guess I’m not sure how long of a trip the Dolomites needs to be, but I’d love it to be in the fall of 2025. I think that would be such a beautiful time of year to visit, as well as cooler temperatures.
My wife and I did our honeymoon doing a Bavarian road trip. We DID go to the peak of Zugspitze but we went in early May. There was still a ton of snow and there was zero visibility from the top. It felt like we were in a cloud. Still had a few beers and a pizza at the summit.
I often add places you visit to a bucket list, and the last two videos are definitely on that list now. My husband doesn’t like crowds and we both love mountain scenery, so if I am to convince him to travel to Europe one day, I have to plan it well. 18 months to retirement 🥰
Been following you both since day - 1. Love the positive energy and vibe. Your videos just keeping getting better and better (no pressure here), just a fact. The excitement and happiness in each video is contagious. We all need positivity, so keep up the great work!
Hi Chad & Claire!! Love your channel! On your most recent episode, you both talk about the German craftsmanship, but it would have been great to see some film footage of some of the furniture and architecture you both were referring to in your description. That said though, I really appreciate you guys and the wonderful work you do on your travels channel! Safe travels, Cyrena 👍🙏🤗❤🌎
Great suggestion! Sorry we didn’t show more of it! It’s definetly a subtle thing that you notice as you travel throughout the area. Glad you enjoyed the video!
What´s outstanding with your vidoes is, that you dot just do touristy things but suck in the lifestyle. Im Bavarian, and I like hiking, take a rest where you like, eat some good food .. and all this rather relaxed. Good job.
Beautiful countryside...gg/grandfather lived and left this fascinating area like 150 years ago...think free land in 🇺🇸 and fiefdom social stratagems in Bavaria/Germany were the incentives. Funny how societies change and rearrange. Sweet vid/great photography!
Very interesting! It’s always so fascinating to imagine what life was like back then and why so many people felt inspired to move to America. There should be a show about it.
There is a video here on YT in which 2 Americans, both carpenters, visit a Swiss training workshop for carpenters and joiners. One of them then said that he was going to remove the title of master carpenter from his business card at home, as these 16-17 year olds already know more than he does. In Switzerland, Austria and Germany, there is a 3-year dual apprenticeship in the company and at school.
Another charming video! Have you guys ever thought about adding a reading list for each place? I’d love to know if there were any books that you used to research before the trip (historical fiction, memoirs, nonfiction, etc.) or ones that you enjoyed while there. I’m always looking for travel-inspired recommendations. Thank you for your past video on San Sebastián. We went this summer and loved it!
This is a great idea! We need to start a proper documentation of the books we both are reading. I’ve heard some people use Goodreads, but I wonder if there are another sites we could use as well.
I like that you 2 have fun in Germany! I also love the Alps, and I regret a little that we only see such a small part of them as opposed to France/Switzerland/Italy, but it's a beautiful part of the world nevertheless =)))
Germans are the poets and thinker, musicians and writers, inventors and technicians of this planet with long history, great craftmenship and of course......black history as well!!!!
all the wooden things you saw is normal there since yearhundreds. people had to act with the things they found there, so they used stone and wood to built houses and many more.
A very sad story. On the bridge with a view of Neuschwanstein Castle, an American pushed 2 American students off the bridge to their deaths. The man is now in prison for life for murder.

it's fun when you said "I like my life"
It’s such a magical fairytale region. When we go on your (future planned group trip ☺️) to the Dolomites, I may be purchasing a one way ticket ☺️☺️☺️

This video is interesting
Love it - ClaireCastle. Reminding us to discover simple Joys along the way 🌻💃🎶
Now I wanna see what castle Claire would design!

We have a family tradition to find at least one putt putt course on every trip! It’s always fun to see the variety!

Glad you had fun in San Sevastián! We can’t wait to visit again.

And the only country in the world that is coming to terms with its dark history
Neuschwanstein (lit. "new swan stone") = NOY-SHVAAN-SHTINE (approx. pronunciation in English)
Claire, can you please share the name of the book you’re reading?
at 9:00 you see Chad and Claire in 50 years walking past you.
Woahhhh a glitch in the matrix!
Wagenbrüchsee is an Instagram favorite
all the wooden things you saw is normal there since yearhundreds. people had to act with the things they found there, so they used stone and wood to built houses and many more.
Why don’t u switch to digital books?
Theirs a special something about the paper in our hands that we both like, but on certain trips we bring electronic copies.
What secret? Pretty much the whole world knows about the Bavarian alps
Germany's best kept secret is the north.
But don't tell anyone.
Neu-schwan-stein or "New Swan Stone" in English. Easier to pronounce what it means.
A very sad story. On the bridge with a view of Neuschwanstein Castle, an American pushed 2 American students off the bridge to their deaths. The man is now in prison for life for murder.
Foolish title! Nothing is a secret about the Bavarian Alpine region. You are just visiting the cliche´ places!
