For all you young folks who might not realize it this is a Replacements song. The fact that Paul Westerberg wrote these lyrics and the band put this song on an album in the early 80s is a tribute to how far ahead of their time they were. Love this cover too.
Yeah, it's quite impressive to see there and in many other artists and songs of the 80s an openness on subjects related to gender, sexuality, etc, and despite generations having danced or knowing by heart the lyrics, doors and minds are still so close today.
Always loved this song. My mom played it for me because my grandmother's brother became a sister in the 50's. I met her during a funeral and she was making a fuss about whether to wear a dress or a suit-ended up wearing a suit. Always amazes me how a song can move you and humanizes us all. And she don't need advice that's sent at her

See no evil at all

The way you're laughed at now
Now, something meets boy, and something meets girl

They're overjoyed in this world
Same hair, revolution
Unisex, evolution
Tomorrow who's gonna fuss
And tomorrow Dick is wearing pants

I wish there was a "love" button
Absolutely beautiful. Great song, great message, great singers. It's performances like this that make the world a better place.
You make the world a better place too!
Can we talk about Laura singing with an English accent during the first verse? I love it so much 😍
This song always give me goosebumps...no matter how many times I hear it!
This is music miley ! It should be what u play ... it's Amazing... It's alternative, it's cool ... I love Joan Jett ! I love Rock & Roll !!!!
Music should be done like this. There are just musical instrument and singers. It's perfect♥️♥️♥️
Miley, you're great human being 😉
from The Replacements album Let It Be 1984 , They are all sooo good on this , Waaaaay to go Miley, Joan and Laura !
I really love what Miley is doing. She's a good person :)
God more people really need to hear this song such a good message and miley killed it
So much joy in this clip. Great viewing. Thanks Hippie Hippie Miley. I had not seen Laura Jane Grace before so thanks for sharing. Very impressed.
I don't know how anyone can be surprised that Miley does covers like this so well, with so much ease? Y'all know who she grew up with right? she could fart these classic anthems in her sleep when she was a child! Respect girl, always knew you were special.
This performance is amazing, I've heard it about third time and start to enjoy how their voices match one another, love the harmony of this song
Miley is an amazing human being. She's not at all self centred she is obviously trying to raise awareness for a cause that she feels very strongly in. She has not made any of these videos about herself if anything she has tried to focus on her guests. She is extremely talented and looks happier now than she ever looked before! What a truly inspirational young woman
I just need an album like this. Please Miley.
Love this song... it's helped me so much while transitioning from 'Sarah' to 'Mark'. You three ladies are incredible.
this song just makes my heart happy.
Each of her backyard sessions so far have been absolutely amazing.
