@@eliasp92509 No they were not!!! They had only been married for a year at this point. This was shot in 2001. They divorced in 2005. Also the film in which he met Jolie was not in the works when this was filmed.
Fun fact: That is the moment where the audience SCREAMED THE MOST! This, and where Chandler and Monica got together in season 4's finale are the moments where the audience cheered the most,(actually has another one but I wont spoil) Btw YES Brad and Jennifer actually were together as a couple when they made this
Fun fact: At 7:15 when Brad says *queen Rachel does whatever she wants in her little Rachel land* that's what Ross also said in S1 when Rachel lost Marcel
Julia Roberts, Bruce Willis, Robin Williams, Susan Sarandon, Danny De Vito, Sean Penn, George Clooney, Billy Crystal, Gary Oldman, Ben Stiller, Winona Ryder, Jean Claude Van Damme all were huge names back then
not to mention the dozens of pre-cameos from actors on friends before they made it big. Like Mae Whitman (The DUFF, Perks of Being A Wallflower) who played the little girl that Ross had to cover for in the cookie sale competition because he broke her leg.
This may be my favorite episode in the whole show. Brad Pitt was totally hilarious in the Spanish version (it seems he is too in the original version).
Yams are similar to sweet potatoes, but not the same thing. What they were eating actually looked more like sweet potatoes. But people get them mixed up all the time. Basically yams are kinda sweet, but less sweet and more starchy than sweet potatoes. They're usually white on the inside and have darker, textured skin.
You don’t even know. Late 90’s early 2000’s Brad Pitt was the man. The line ‘who’s here think he’s is brad Pitt’. Ps: The Departed is absolutely superb.
2:55 may be one of my favourite reaction moments. It's just such a random question, I honestly wasn't expecting it😂 But for the record, a yam is literally just a sweet potato (personally I'm not a fan) and Americans have some weird marshmallow yam dish for thanksgiving and I don't even know what I'm supposed to say to that😂 (🇨🇦)
Yams are a kind of potato, and you make them the same way : baked or mashed, with butter. The flesh is dark orange. They are incredibly popular in East Asia. In fact, a popular fad diet there is to eat just one meal a day, consisting of a roast chicken breast and a baked yam.
Love your reaction ❤ FYI: I'm Thai. just wanna say that the name "Takaka Ci-Kek" doesn't sound like Thai people's names😆. I love the way they put Takaka as his first name and Ci-Kek as his last name, which is correct , but most of us have it with many syllables (check my username, that's my real first and last name as Thai) so we rarely call people with their first and last name like that. We have "official nicknames" that our parents named us when we were born, so everbody prefer call each other with these nicknames.
and actually it's impressed (and little weird, also) that Will and Ross still remember Takaka's last name. I cannot even remember some of my friends' last names or even their first names because mostly, people just introduce themselves with nicknames.
I disagree with many comments. I think Brad Pitt’s acting didnt measure up to the rest of the cast. I think the writing was good but he was akward in the roll. I think just because they were together at the time, it was going to be a hit, but it was a miss for me.
They look entirely different. Yams look more like regular potatoes and can be eaten raw, unlike regular and sweet potatoes. Because of their sweet taste, yams are also used in desserts.
Brad Pitt entrance got the biggest response I believe. Some of his best lines; 5:29 Will: “Do you remember how into dinosaurs we were?” Ross:😀😬 8:26 Ross: “The only reason I join.” Will: “Co-founded” Ross: “Co-founded the club.”
as much as you believe people wouldnt believe its true: look up the rnb singer ciara. since she debuted people said she was a hermaphrodite or trans cause she was "too masculine" and she tucked and you could see a bulge in certain performances. there were SO many stories around that one rumor for YEARS. then once she got some hits "oh she cut it off now that she has enough money for the surgery". similar rumor was given to lady guhGA!
Hipster RUclipsrs like to say this episode isn't good and Brad is straining to be funny, but isn't polished yet like he would be post-Fight Club. Which I akways like to point out this WAS post-Fight Club. And our man Pitt has shown his comedic chops from Thelma and Louise 1991 to True Romance as stoner roommate Floyd in '93 to his Oscar nominted supporting work in 12 Monkeys. Rewatching it now after seeing all the seasons in a row binge watching it is also clear the cast regulars are clearly psyched to be working opposite Brad including his newlywed bride at the time Aniston. Everybody visably is upping the energy level in their performance and bringing their A-game. Brad adjusts effortlessly to a studio audience as most actors do because the instant feedback from a crowd invigorates a performer. It's more of an adjustment on a film set when you deliver funny lines, but crew members can't laugh or it'll ruin a take. Out of everyone on this episode, besides Brad who is just throwing straight heat, lights out ball here, out of the usual cast regulars who all are in rare form and doing inspired work, Joey is my personal favorite. LeBlanc is never less than top shelf premo and never has phoned it in, but certain times he manages to elevate his game to even higher strataspheric levels and this is one of them. Viva La Friends. 😀✌️❤️
I'd play board games alone cuz my brother would only wanna play video games (which I also played but still loved board games) so when I played alone I'd play against 'Bob' an imaginary friend type who always let me win lol.
I think this is one of my least favorite Thanksgiving episodes. There’s nothing bad about it, it’s just not that memorable besides its namesake. Feels sorta middling and empty after it’s done. But I think that’s an unpopular opinion
Wonder what Rachel would have done back in the day if she'd known about the disinformation campaign "outing" her as intersex. Hope she didn't suffer any transvestigations.
Joey is right about turkeys. They're so stupid that if you put a model of just the head of a female turkey a couple feet off the ground in front of a male turkey, the male turkey will attempt to mate with the nonexistent body. Yams are large tubers from Africa and Asia. What Monica was talking about is actually sweet potato. In the US, real yams are difficult to impossible to find. When sweet potatoes were becoming mainstream in the US, they were marketed as yams to avoid confusion with regular potatoes. As a result, "candied yams" is a dish commonly served at thanksgiving dinner, but it's almost always been made with sweet potato. A minute number of Americans have actually seen or eaten true yams. If you're in an American grocery store and find canned yams, 98 times out of 100 it also says "cut sweet potato" in smaller print on the label because they're required by law to accurately identify the food in their product. www.webstaurantstore.com/blog/3080/sweet-potato-vs-yam.html

Brad absolutely nailed this character
He really did!
It was hard for Jennifer Anniston and brad Pitt this episode. They were both at the point of divorcing each other during this episode.

@@mario_gabriel SPOILER
When Ross and Rachel became a couple again
@@UriosEditz that's what I thought, thanks.
in fact, they were married before filming this
I remember when Friends was on the air and their Thanksgiving episodes became a tradition to watch for my family. :)
Aw that’s so cute!
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were already married when they filmed this episode, which is why it was so funny that he hated her
Fun fact: At 7:15 when Brad says *queen Rachel does whatever she wants in her little Rachel land* that's what Ross also said in S1 when Rachel lost Marcel
No wonder why they are friends XD

Will: Screw it! Bring on the yams!
Monica: But you've worked so hard...
Will: YAMS!!!!
Always cracks me up.
Finally he recognizes a celebrity guest, lol 😂
😭😭
Every holiday that we eat pie, my family always say "Just a sliver....little bigger..."
Love that you called Joey putting on Phoebe's maternity pants
Brad is great at comedy 😂😂 One of my favourite episodes!!
'Come on, Will. Just take off your shirt and tell us!'
The Brad is hot jokes are so good and this one by Phoebe just kills me.
Lol one of the best of the season. Such a great cameo and just chaotic as usual for friends holiday episodes.
One of my favorite episode of the series. One of my favorite moments is when Will yells ''yams!''
Hahahah! Love the reaction like always! Ya Brad and Jen were married at that time which makes it even funnier!
"Oh shit, it's Brad Pitt" 😂😂😂
This is how good this season is. Almost every episode at this point has been given an 8
The actors are so goood that even if they stay in a room and talk and talk, it is still fun!
FYI Brad and Jennifer were married when this episode was made
Man Brad Pitt has range, he can act like anything serious to funny! Big fan ❤

Jen & Brat are such a hot couple at this time and Lisa Kudrow amazing 🤣😂🤣😂

Julia Roberts.

Nah, they're different. People from the US use yam and sweet potato interchangeably but they are not the same thing.
The iconicness of this episode I just 💀

been waiting for this episode 😂
I can't look at Matthew Perry the same way ever again...behind those happy, joke-filled persona, is a struggling human being...
😟 I know. People knew something was going on at the time - he got really thin once - but not the extent of it.

Brad is in Deadpool 2, but it's a blink and you miss it sight gag.
